So welcome everybody to another crystal pod on Barn to the Soul. And today we're going to talk about Amazonite and the reason being a bit bizarre reason. I mean it's beautiful crystal and I love it and it's a beautiful colour. But the reason it came to mind was that I have been doing a course lately on earth and energies and we have to do a meditation and within the meditation I saw Amazonite cliffs and for some reason I knew it was Amazonite. So I thought I know I will do the next crystal pod on Amazonite, so that's what I'm doing.

So it's like it's a beautiful crystal, the most beautiful colour, because it's sort of a combination between green and blue. It's quite. The pieces I've got are quite. They're not sort of shiny, they're quite matte and very, very smooth, but obviously the bits I've got have been tumbled and they're often that is also got sort of a brown in it and that is usually smoky quartz. So it's often found intertwined with smoky quartz, which is the sort of brown colouration, but also with black tourmaline, which is quite interesting, and both of those are about self transformation. So you know, really helping us to ground to the earth while we bring in or connect to higher vibrational spiritual energies. So it's really good for self development and if anybody's thinking of doing psychic development or even meditation, then it's a really good stone to help you with that.

So it's a variety of alkali fellspar mineral and it either forms in quite small, like sort of prismatic little crystals, or quite large masses, like the cliffs I saw, and it's being used by ancient civilisations such as Egypt and India for thousands of years. And you know, past civilisation has used Amazonized slabs where it's formed in big masses as armour and as writing slabs as well. And it's very soft on the hardness scale and it fractures easily. So it can be manipulated, it can be carved to use as writing slabs and it's often formed as jewellery because it can be carved and shaped in that way. And you would think, looking at the colour, which is this bluey green, and it ranges in depth and brightness, obviously you can get quite turquoise colours, quite pale, quite dark green, a sort of variety, and you would think that there was copper in that, because copper is very, you know, often seen in this in green coloration. But quite a recent study from 1985 actually suggested that it's not copper. It's actually small tracings of lead and water within the fell spa. So that's quite interesting. So not copper, as you would think, and it's quite common. Found a lot in Brazil, actually, where it takes its name from the Amazon River. So an interesting crystal.

So what's it used for physically? Well, let me tell you, first of all, it's very much associated, because of the blue green coloration, with the throat and the heart chakra, and that really ties in to it being called the Stone of Truth, because it's about honest communication, it's about vocalizing our true thoughts without becoming over-emotional, without being upset or without being fearing judgment. It's like we move beyond that. We are just coming from this really sort of central place of our absolute truth that has to be communicated. So if you think about heart and throat, that gives you the idea behind it, because and it's also often called the Stone of Courage, I suppose because we have to have courage, we have to believe in ourselves, we have to not fear judgment, to truly, truly step into our power, and that's what it's about. So, physically, it's also about the throat and the thyroid, but it's also about nerve endings and pathways, and if you've had a trauma or a problem, an injury that's affected the nerves, it's supposedly incredibly good to help you then regenerate and to help you heal from something like that. It's also a very good protective stone, and protective in that it shields against geographic stress and waves from the microwaves and cell phones. So it's quite good one to have on your microphone but your microphone, your microwave, or if you have it as jewelry earrings because it will protect you in that way. It also dispels all negative energy. It's a very positive stone and it sort of protects you from people trying to take advantage of you. And if you have a business, then it's often seen as lucky and it attracts new clients and orders to a business. So that's quite interesting. We could all do with that, couldn't we?

And then to care for Amazonite. So, amazonite, although it's soft I say it's soft, that's from the most scale you couldn't actually mark it with your finger or fingernail or anything like that, so it's not soft as in you can manipulate it with your fingers or anything like that. So when you come to cleanse Amazonite, it's best done under lukewarm water or you can recharge it in under moonlight or in the sun. And you can also place crystals in a bowl of rice overnight, or rice or salt, and presume, apparently the rice and the salt will absorb anything negative that the crystal is held on to, and then obviously you throw that away in the morning and you can wash the crystal and it will be cleansed. So that's the best way to cleanse Amazonite.

And while we're on the subject, it is really important to cleanse your crystals. If you have, like, a bowl of crystals on your coffee table or whatever, and you have people coming in and handling them and having a look at them, which is lovely, but anything negative that they might have on them energy-wise, or if they need that particular crystal to help them and they start clearing, if you like, then that crystal could hold on to their negativity and the energies that they are clearing. So it's important to regularly cleanse your crystals and obviously you have to be careful because some will dissolve. So that's why I was saying to you, although it's referred to, as soft you can, it's not going to dissolve in that way. So water, sunlight, moonlight or in a bowl of brown rice, that is the best way to cleanse your crystals.

And the other way is and perhaps we'll do a crystal pod on this is carnilion. Carnilion is a beautiful crystal. It's like a really deep, ready orange usually, or variations of that, and if you have a carnilion crystal in a bowl of crystals, it will cleanse everything else. It's a self-cleansing crystal. There are a few of them Carnilion is one and the other one is kyanide. They don't pick up negativity or negative energy in the same way.

So that is Amazonite and, like I say, it's really useful for the throat, chakra and other crystals on similar vibration that you can use as well alongside Amazonite, a chrysocola, acromirine and turquoise.

And if you're familiar with crystals at all, you'll know that all of those are real bluey greens and just absolutely beautiful. So if you've got a talk coming up or you're giving a talk or if you just have to have one of those difficult, honest conversations with somebody, amazonite is a great one to just carry around for a couple of days beforehand and it will really just help you to come from a place of honesty and truth in a nice way, if you like, in the easiest way for you both.
