Speaker 1:

So welcome everybody to another episode of Barn to the Soul, and tonight I have a returning guest and a new guest, so I have got Liz and I've got Gemma, known as Gem. So welcome, ladies. Thank you very much for supporting Barn to the Soul.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for having us no problem.

Speaker 1:

So if you look back on the episodes you'll see that Liz Liz Castamolle from Azara Oil Retreat has been on quite a few times talking about all sorts, and Gemma Brown from Gems Healing is new to us, so she's very kindly come on to talk about because you two lovely ladies do retreats, or you have been doing a couple of retreats, haven't you? And retreat to connect. So I thought it'd be really lovely if you could just sort of give us a reason why people should go on retreat.

Speaker 3:

I think it's really nice for people to step away from the busyness of life and it gives people that space to do some real inner work, even if that's a couple of days. I think it's really lovely for that. So love, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 1:

I suppose it's a really excellent way of just focusing on yourself and what you're doing, isn't it?

Speaker 2:

Definitely. I think, also with the whole merry-go-round of life, we don't take enough time out for ourselves, do we? And we're so good at putting others first. So I think it just yeah, like Liz said, it just gives people the opportunity to just really focus on themselves, with no distractions, no kids, no pets, no husbands, no partners distracting them, and just time for themselves to really reconnect themselves.

Speaker 1:

And it's so important to do that, isn't it? Whatever you're doing just to find that little time to reconnect, it's almost like the factory reset button, isn't it? You know we all need to do that sometimes.

Speaker 3:

And I think that's where myself and Gem came together and we've sort of worked together and we see the importance of it. So it's really nice that we can put our different skills together and work separately to offer a couple of days to people that come so they can really just absorb it all and, yeah, fill their cup back up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah that's a good way of saying yeah, so tell us what you both offer so that the listeners can understand what people would expect at a retreat.

Speaker 2:

When I go first, liz or Sly, okay, you go first.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so specifically on the retreat, Well on the retreat, but I'm very interested to hear what else you offer as well, absolutely.

Speaker 2:

Yes, obviously, on the retreat we are going to be literally really giving people time to just sit and reflect, look at things that are potentially holding them back, sort of time to sit with their intentions, obviously, what they actually want to get from the actual retreat. There's going to be Reiki, there's going to be meditation, there's going to be Liz is going to do an amazing oil class. I'm going to do an introduction to belief coding. So I am a Reiki master, as is Liz, but I'm also a belief coding facilitator, which is a transformational modality and it's basically it's one. It incorporates lots of other modalities in one session to get to the root cause of where something has come from. So that could be an anxiety, just a limiting, negative belief, so one's got it could be a fear, pain, lack of confidence, anything like that, and we basically delve in in one powerful session to get to the root of it, heal that moment and reprogram the mind so they are no longer having that driving force behind the emotion of it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so it neutralizes the emotion around the mind or the experience.

Speaker 2:

Exactly takes that emotional charge away from it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so then they can really call it without emotion, exactly that, yeah, and then it stops affecting the way that they react to things in their current life. Yeah, absolutely yeah it is incredibly powerful to be able to do that. Yeah, that's really nice. They just go to the in retreat.

Speaker 2:

They really are Ice bath and sauna and all sorts of fun as well.

Speaker 1:

Excellent, and the retreats that you've done are in the Suffolk countryside, aren't they? Yes, yes, have I got that right? Yeah, yeah, southwild, lovely, I love that. Obviously, living in Suffolk, but I love that area and being by the sea. There's just something special about that as well, isn't there?

Speaker 3:

Absolutely. I think when you, I mean myself and Gem. We went up to Southwild last week and the energy is just beautiful up there there's an absolutely calming feel to the energy. It's just beautiful. So, and yeah, we were actually holding it at a place called Toad Hall and there's five lodges. There's a lovely space for yoga. The whole setting is beautiful. It looks out overfield. It's yeah, it's very.

Speaker 2:

It's got the most incredible sunset hasn't it.

Speaker 3:

Oh my goodness, yeah, so amazing. So I think people are gonna you know they're gonna take so much from what we're offering, so it's just yeah. So if you're a little bit rakey, there'll be meditations. I'm doing essential oil class, teaching yoga, and Gem's doing the belief coding. We've also gone to have a really lovely sort of like, a like a sort of ceremony, aren't we Gem?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like an imp, like really self-empowering ceremony, aren't we? Yeah?

Speaker 3:

Um, because we want ladies to feel empowered when they've left. Yeah, it sounds amazing.

Speaker 1:

It sounds really lovely. A couple of days and a lot to pack in there, so you know, but that's lovely, isn't it? Yeah?

Speaker 2:

It's going to be very exciting for them. It's exciting for us to be fair as well. I think also like seeing the ladies go through their transformation they're going to have in just two days with us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's yeah, they're going to have such a shift and obviously just for them to be able to just take that time out for themselves, it's just going to be so lovely to see yeah.

Speaker 1:

And you know, I suppose there'll be people who are just starting their spiritual journey, so that's really going to trigger them to sort of go on their own path. Yeah, but there'll be people that you know already done, done quite a lot of their spiritual path. But it is very much like a spiral, isn't it? We all have to keep on clearing and looking for things and moving forward with that healing.

Speaker 2:

I think the healing journey never ends, does it?

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

It really doesn't no.

Speaker 1:

When I started this journey, I always thought I haven't really got anything to heal. And now I'm 20 years later and I'm still at it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly, exactly. It's a never ending journey. No.

Speaker 1:

And it can be painful, and it can be difficult, but actually the rewards are incredible, aren't they?

Speaker 3:

Oh, they really are. When you do the inner work, it changes your life.

Speaker 2:

Especially if something's been holding you back for so long as well, like someone that's got anxiety or fear that it's just really limiting their life and holding them back, and when they actually obviously work with that and they heal that and they can actually go about their life with freedom.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's what they're doing, isn't?

Speaker 2:

it yeah.

Speaker 1:

And sometimes people don't even realise that they are holding themselves back until they start delving and clearing and feeling the difference.

Speaker 3:

And it can be quite a surprise, I think, sometimes I think we can be more complicated than we realise, yeah definitely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah it is Definitely, definitely so. You also provide little mini-retreats at your house, don't you, liz? That's something that you've done for a while now. Tell us about those little retreats.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so I live in Braintree in Essex and I hold mini-retreat days at mine a couple of times a month, and that is with yoga, meditation, the cow, you make an essential oil blend, you have a lunch and you just spend time with other people. I can only have four, so it's quite a small group, which is lovely.

Speaker 2:

Right an instrument isn't it.

Speaker 3:

It is.

Speaker 3:

It's really nice and they are very nourishing to anybody that comes. But I also do a Wisdom Wednesday as well, which is once a month, which is all of those things, but not the yoga. So that's quite nice as well and it's just opening up some space and helping people to just, yeah, do some inner work, find their higher vibration and just an invitation to work with some of the alternative holistic ways which I've personally found so amazingly inspirational. Yeah, yeah, so I do those. And then I do therapy treatments as well, and Reiki, and, yes, I love it all so much.

Speaker 1:

It's a one to one or it's a small group, it's less intimidating for some people, isn't it as well? I think in a large group, some people will hold back a bit, just because it's quite intimidating if they're not used to it, that's right, and so I think that the small groups.

Speaker 3:

It's nice, and up to now I've found that the right people come together, which is lovely.

Speaker 1:

That's always the way. I've always found that with workshops, you just get the right blends, don't you?

Speaker 3:

And then, equally, you know, like you say, sometimes some people, some people would prefer to come on a one to one. So I do one to ones as well, and we might look at a certain area that somebody wants to focus on, and then I just tailor that to their needs and we work on what they wish to work on, using more of a holistic approach.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Excellent, and I love that you've added Kakao ceremonies as well.

Speaker 3:

Yes, well, I was introduced to the Kakao probably over a year ago and it's something that I found that's been really beautiful for me, for healing. I introduce it into my, into my days, and it's just nice, but people seem to really love it and yeah, am I mispronouncing that, liz?

Speaker 1:

How did you pronounce it, kakao?

Speaker 3:

Wow, kakao, yes, yeah.

Speaker 1:

But yes.

Speaker 3:

I really love it. I love the way it makes me feel it's just calming.

Speaker 2:

It's so good for the heart chakra as well, isn't it? Like you said, also, when you're actually having that in a ceremony or like within, like an intimate space together, it just allowing people just really be open and honest about their feelings as well just really opens that up, doesn't it?

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's lovely and it's such a good heart medicine. It's got the bliss One of the only things that's got the bliss molecule in it that really helps the body to settle and calm and, yeah, it's amazing. So, yeah, I love it, absolutely love it. And the beautiful thing is is that I can I put an essential oil, like the doTERRA essential oils because of the purity, like wild orange or peppermint, a drop in and it's delicious, which I sampled at the weekend and it was really delicious.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like having a chocolate orange, yeah, so really, really good.

Speaker 3:

So you know, when you think about the benefits that you're getting from the cow and the benefits that you're getting from the oil. So you've got the two together, and then your intentions, obviously, which are, yeah, beautiful.

Speaker 1:

And, of course, just with your, your days and your one to one, and the truth retreats, you're absolutely layering all these energetic work, aren't you?

Speaker 3:

Yes, that's it yeah.

Speaker 1:

Which helps the healing, you know, quicken even more, doesn't?

Speaker 3:

it. I think it really helps people to to see a shift, even if they they're just with you for a small amount of time. Yeah, whether it's a day or whether it's like a retreat, to connect, you know they've got that time, that couple of days when they can really immerse themselves and if it from all of these things, so, in order to connect, I will put all your details up, liz, so that's the best way for them to.

Speaker 1:

if people have questions is to contact you Instagram or on your website.

Speaker 3:

Yes, I'm very active on my well more active on my Instagram, my website People can contact me on. There's quite a bit of information about what I do on my website.

Speaker 1:

Excellent, and so, gemma you. You provide the belief coding sessions, so do you do those one to one? Is that your main sort of healing treatment that you give outside of the retreat? Yes, so.

Speaker 2:

I'm mainly it's kind of mixed, mixed really now about 50-50. So I started the belief coding. It was July last year and I knew that I wanted something to go alongside the Raykey, but I hadn't kind of found what it was up until last April when I started and I actually found belief coding Because I knew I wanted something to really help propel my clients forward, actually to create that shift, and it's quite spiritual as well, so it just works really beautifully alongside the Raykey. So, yes, and what about a sort of 50-50? Really Right, the Raykey coding now. But yeah, it's done one to one, one to one.

Speaker 2:

It's done on Zoom, so I obviously don't have to be like. We live local to me, so it's either in person or on Zoom. So yeah, wherever you are Australia, Sweden or wherever- I know it's amazing, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

You know, Zoom has really opened up the world. It really has such a reach. Yeah, I send distant healing sessions, you know, to India, and it always amazes me. I just think it's just incredible. But they feel it and they react to it instantaneously.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it was in person. Yeah, it is incredible.

Speaker 1:

So do you have a website as well, Gemma I?

Speaker 2:

don't have a website. That is on my to-do list for this year.

Speaker 1:

Always got a to-do list.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, absolutely, but no, so Facebook or Instagram they can contact me. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Excellent, and tell me, ladies, because I know that you're fully booked for your retreat that you're doing together, but are you planning on doing more if people are interested? Yes, You're waiting list.

Speaker 3:

Yes, it's been mind-blowing really, because we've actually we've had so many people that have once we booked, well, once we got the retreat fully booked, we've had so many other people say, oh, I'd love to come, have you got any spaces? Yeah, it's in demand. So we are looking to yes, to do another one, hopefully yes absolutely.

Speaker 1:

If people really are interested in doing that retreat, if they give you their name or email you you can put them on a waiting list.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely Excellent.

Speaker 1:

Well, I think it sounds amazing. I think it's of course as an energy therapist. I think everybody should do a bit of self-reflection and focus on themselves on a regular basis to really sort of keep clearing the energy Definitely.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we understand ourselves as well, isn't it? It's yeah bad ourselves. We know where we need to heal. Like, look at our triggers. Yeah, absolutely. It's great, isn't it where we need to be healing if we just Learn to listen to our body is and what it's actually telling us.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, and if there's something is troubling us in our current life, or the way we react to something, or that's it. That's another way that you can start thinking. Well, set your intention to clear this. Let's find out why I behave like that. Why am I reacting exactly? So, so any one of these therapies that we've talked about In isolation, or certainly layered, it's so beneficial really is really is.

Speaker 1:

Excellent. Well, thank you so much, ladies. I, it's been a real pleasure, as always, and and, and thank you for being a new guest. Jim, thank you so much. Really nice to meet you and, yeah, it's been lovely. So, thank you very much and, like I say, I will pop the ladies details up under the episode and If you are interested into Kickstarting that healing journey With any one of these treatments or with doing some retreat, then you can contact them. So, thank you, ladies, thank you very much for joining us, thank you, thank you, no problem at all.
