Hi, this is hi, this is the message for Tom Betty. Tom, this is Todd Scudieri. Um, I'm a huge fan of this podcast. I really want to thank you for putting this together and all the episodes that you've done. And I wish you all the best for your future endeavors. Um, my journey with Pan Am began as a teenager in the 1980s. I grew up in Albany. I went to New York City to the Pan Am building. I was obsessed with travel. Um, I went to India when I was 18, 1989. I took Pan Am. And then I went to school in Hawaii and I took Pan Am 747 um back and forth from New York. And um, I became a flight attendant for Northwest for a few years. And uh it just it just was been such a huge part of um of my life of travel and uh and just wanderlust and dreaming. And to this day, I I think about it and um and I still I'm obsessed with it. So um anyway, thank you so much. And um, I can't wait to visit the museum. I've never been there. I live in California right now. All the best to you.
I have recently discovered your podcast and I’ve been enjoying it very much. I have a suggestion for a episode, but I don’t know if this is the proper method of making such a suggestion. If there’s someone else or another number, I should be sending this to, please let me know. I have been married over 40 years to Ms. Anne Owen. She was featured in the first two Pan Am safety videos, in this case two different Airbus configurations. Both of her videos are included in your Museum's library archives and on YouTube. The video on YouTube has over a half million hits. Clips from her video have been shown on different TV shows as well as on a Netflix movie released two years ago. Online that video is considered the gold standard for airline safety videos in the United States. She’s lived a fabulously incredible life, having begun travel as a child with her parents, her father was an engineer stationed overseas. She’s lived in Indonesia, Nigeria, Spain, England and her family has lived in the Middle East in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, and she has spent significant amounts of time in Turkey as well. She’s attended school in Spain and other foreign countries. Julia Cooke on her blog promoting her recent book about Pan Am, "Come Fly the World" had this to say about Anne: Her stories of her life and of her time as a Pan Am Flight attendant ( London 1979-83; JFK 1983-1989), are funny, scary, but always interesting. You would not regret having her as a guest. Her video links are here below.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Pan Am podcast - Episode 35. February 16, 2023 with Captain Perry Jones and Ed Moon which I just stumbled across. My Father, Louis Colangelo, was the Director of Flight Operations in Berlin, Germany- 1974-1981 and worked with Captain Jones. Captain Jones was also my high school track team coach and I attended high school in Berlin with his son JJ.
