More Than Medicine

MTM : Interview with Mark Lynch. Candidate for Senate.

Dr. Robert E. Jackson Season 2 Episode 347

Send us a text

Mark Lynch is challenging the political establishment in a race that could dramatically reshape South Carolina's representation in Washington. A successful businessman who transformed his family enterprise from 5 employees to 110 while maintaining debt-free operations since 1999, Lynch brings a refreshing perspective to a political landscape dominated by career politicians.

The conversation reveals Lynch's deeply held convictions about returning America to its constitutional foundations. Having invested $5 million of his own retirement funds into his campaign, Lynch demonstrates his commitment to remaining independent from special interests while mounting a serious challenge to Senator Lindsey Graham's long-held seat. His decision to run stems from years of community involvement and growing concern about the direction of the country.

Lynch's platform centers around putting "God first," advocating for constitutional governance, eliminating what he views as unconstitutional federal agencies, implementing a biblical flat tax system, and enforcing immigration laws. His pro-life stance and emphasis on manufacturing revival resonate with conservative South Carolina voters. Internal polling suggests a promising path forward, with Lynch reporting that 57% of South Carolina voters say they'll never vote for Graham again, while 60% prefer a successful businessman.

While acknowledging the challenge of running against an incumbent with President Trump's endorsement, Lynch remains confident that his business experience and America-first platform will ultimately win over South Carolina voters in the June 2026 primary. For those interested in supporting his campaign, Lynch invites listeners to visit Lynch4Senate.com to volunteer, donate, or learn more about his vision for representing South Carolina with integrity and conservative principles. As Lynch emphasizes throughout the conversation, this campaign is not merely political—it's a calling to restore godly leadership to the United States Senate.

Welcome to More Than Medicine, where Jesus is more than enough for the ills that plague our culture and our country.

Intro:

Hosted by author and physician Dr Robert Jackson and his wife Carlotta and daughter Hannah Miller. So listen up, because the doctor is in.

Dr.Jackson:

Welcome to More Than Medicine. I'm your host, dr Robert Jackson, bringing to you biblical insights and stories from the country doctor's rusty, dusty scrapbook. Well, I'm delighted today to have with me online Mark Lynch who, as many of you know, is running for the state senate against Lindsey Graham, who's held that seat for a coon's age, I reckon you could say and, Brother Mark, I'm delighted to have you on More Than Medicine, welcome.

Mark Lynch:

Yes, thank you, dr Jackson. It's an honor and a privilege and I'm so humbled and thankful that you're having me on this evening.

Dr.Jackson:

Well, start off by telling my listeners a little bit about who you are and your background and what you do.

Dr.Jackson:

Well, I was born and raised here in Greenville, South Carolina. We've been here my whole life. We moved to Woodruff about 13 years ago, just 15 minutes away in between Spartanburg and Greenville. So we're in Spartanburg County now. I run our family business that my father started back in 1951. We're in our 73rd year now.

Dr.Jackson:

Oh goodness, We've grown and grown. When I got out of USC in Columbia and came home, my father you know I'd worked for him on and off all through the years, just in the way, getting in trouble and learning to drive and being a delivery installer and working in the warehouse and later moving into sales and he said I've been holding this business, seeing if you wanted to buy into it because I'm going to be retiring soon, if you wanted to buy into it because I'm going to be retiring soon. So in 1983, we formed a buy-sell agreement between us and in 1985, he released the reins and let me start running the company, and with God at the center of the company, because he's the owner.

Dr.Jackson:

I mean, you know that, dr Jackson, I do. I understand it, I understand it fully.

Dr.Jackson:

I just have a stewardship responsibility over that and with him at the helm we've grown the business from five employees to 110. Our business sales have grown 35 times from the date that I took it over to 40 years now that I've been running it. My father's with the Lord. He passed on and went to heaven in 1997. But my son and daughter, third generation, are now in it. They're running the business and transitioning into taking over and they're doing a great job and that gives me the opportunity to get into this United States Senate race that we're in. And we've been debt-free as a family and corporately since 1999.

Dr.Jackson:

That's wonderful, wonderful.

Dr.Jackson:

And anyway, I've been married 37 years to my lovely wife, Sarah. My partner and we have two children and four grandchildren God's blessed us with, so we have an awesome family.

Dr.Jackson:

And God's answered the prayers. Well, I don't guess it's a family connection, but we have a connection with your business. My father-in-law, Carlos Watson, was a chaplain for your business for I don't know, six or eight years, I don't know exactly how long it was.

Dr.Jackson:

He was the first pastor on staff when we started teaching the gospel and he started out doing that one day a week and then later he agreed to do it two days a week because it wasn't fair for the people that had the day off the day he was here, so he agreed to do it twice and brought a different message.

Dr.Jackson:

And he told us that it was one of the most delightful positions that he ever had. He told us it was a ministry without deacons and deacon meetings and he always loved being the chaplain at Jeff Lynch.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah, I miss him.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah, we miss him dearly. I can't wait to see him again.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you and he said that, dr Jackson. He said if he had to do it all over again, this is where he would preach, because he said it's real here out in the workplace rather than the halls of a church.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah, that's exactly right, he was exactly right. Well, now tell me this, mark what in the world possessed you to run for a US Senate seat?

Dr.Jackson:

Well, just the short of it is. Back in 2014, we hosted a man to speak to our law enforcement about the local Islamic threat and I heard that presentation and couldn't believe how infiltrated our country is with enemies of our nation. And I started helping them and became the chairman of the board of their organization and meeting different people and hosting events, training six, eight hundred people in churches and training our local sheriff's, deputies and police deputies and sled agents in seven counties here through several training programs. I was asked to run for a state Senate seat back in 2020 and I almost won. I lost by five percent.

Dr.Jackson:

But when people met me and heard me and heard my campaign conversations and they, they, you know, I'm told that, you know, um, that I have a backbone and I I'll hold the line and I won't compromise. And people know me from our 73 year, uh years, of being in business and how we do things here at our company in Greenville. They said you need to run again, you know, and there wasn't anything really coming up that I felt God calling me to get into. And then my wife Sarah started pushing last summer. She said you know, I don't know of anybody else that I trust but you. We don't have any other candidate. We've got to take Lindsey Graham out.

Dr.Jackson:

And I had to let that sink in for a while because, um, and sometimes I still drive home and I'm like this is crazy, you know, but I've prayed the Jabez prayer for years that God would bless me and my entire family forever and indeed and that just means God if can, I would love to steward over bigger kingdom picture work for you. And so I was called to get in this race. Sarah and I prayed and we've been given the green light and we're in it. We're in it to win it. I hear you. And so we jumped in and we placed $5 million of our own money into this campaign to show the voters of South Carolina and President Trump, because I've heard from Roger Stone, you know that the president will want to see how much skin you have in the game and you're polling. So that's why we moved that amount of money from our retirement fund into this campaign account to seed it initially and get it started.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you Well, and when you do that, you put in that kind of money in the game. It keeps you from being beholden to anybody else.

Dr.Jackson:

Yes, sir. I mean that allows you to be your own man.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah Well, we filed back in February and we were the first one to announce we're running and so, uh, we've been driving all over the state and campaigning hard, um, working hard, getting home at two in the morning, doing whatever we need to do. I had three interviews today. Uh, one was was when one american news, another another one with Steve Gruber, and now you and we're traveling Friday to speak at an event, saturday and Sunday at a church. We're covered up. I've had a couple of days off this week, which have been nice, so our team got to rest from 10 days straight on the road traveling.

Dr.Jackson:

Well, tell my listeners a little bit about your campaign platform. What's your vision? What do you hope to accomplish?

Dr.Jackson:

Well, we're a God first campaign If we bring God back first in this country. That's what makes America great again. Our country was founded on the freedom to worship the one true God. That's why the pilgrims came here and died, and later we fought and got our Declaration of Independence from the British and we created our Constitution that God divinely inspired our forefathers to write. That's the only way this country runs is on godly moral principles. Every decision I'll make will come through God's word. It's got to pass his test first, and then the next filter is the Constitution.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you.

Dr.Jackson:

As your voice in DC, and so we've really allowed our government to get too big. Our congressmen and legislators have gone way outside of their enumerated powers. They've created unconstitutional agencies in this country. One of my first jobs will be to abolish most of these organizations, and we know that if we got rid of 80 percent of the agencies that our government has formed, that will help bring back a balanced budget just tremendously quick. You know, if we get rid of all these agencies that are causing the problems in our country.

Dr.Jackson:

Well, if you promise to do that. Mark Lynch, you've got my vote.

Dr.Jackson:

Yes, sir, and so it's about returning to the simplicity of a document that will fit in our front pocket. Not the annotated Constitution, it's a 20-pound book with thousands of pages based on case law that most of our politicians are using to make decisions in the executive and judicial legislative branch. And, meeting with our chief Supreme Court Justice in South Carolina, judge John Kittredge, he said you know, mark, men have always wanted to control men, and when they got away from our Constitution that protects the unalienable rights God gave us and they created this annotated constitution that they wrote, they're now controlling other men and society with that constitution a fake one and so we've got to get back to the real one.

Dr.Jackson:

That's exactly right, it's not difficult. Exactly right.

Dr.Jackson:

But my platform is, you know, I'm 100% pro-life. You know, in Jeremiah 1.5, the Lord says Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you a prophet to the nations. And in Psalm 139, 13 through 16, the Lord says For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works. My soul knows it very well.

Dr.Jackson:

My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance and your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me when, as yet, there was none of them. A baby is formed at conception. We can now see it on YouTube, where there's a beam of light that surrounds that cell when sperm fertilizes the egg and it's a life at that moment that surrounds that cell, when sperm fertilizes the egg and it's a life at that moment. And Lindsey Graham is for murdering babies in the womb up to 15 weeks.

Dr.Jackson:

That's right.

Dr.Jackson:

And he voted for legislation to allow a mother to murder the baby the moment before delivery in nine states, and it's being funded by our taxes funding Obamacare and Medicaid, and that's got to stop. You know we've murdered over 63 million of our own in this country 10 times the amount of people Hitler killed in World War II with the Jews. So God's not going to bless this country. He's a just God and he's going to serve punishment and I think he has and he's waiting for us, the church, his people, to stand up and fight this evil that we're all into. So I'm going to help eliminate that. The other thing I will fight for is our tax situation. Biblically, we are to donate 10% of our income in a flat tax. No matter what you make, everybody pays 10%. That's God's method of keeping a nation unified. When we're taxing the rich higher than the lower income families and whatnot, that helps divide a nation and it creates division amongst its people, and that's biblical. Property tax needs to be done away with.

Dr.Jackson:

If I own something in my home or my car or whatever, I don't need to keep paying for it to keep it. That's like a mafia, you know protection fee. They come by and collect and we've got to end all that. And with the tariffs that are coming in, now that Trump's done, thank goodness we can bring our manufacturing back to the United States and employ American workers again and put our country back to work where we can produce our own goods. And because when I was a kid I know you know this, dr Jackson you know made in America meant something. It meant best quality, it lasted a long time, it was well made and we took pride in our manufacturing of our goods. And we got to get back to that again pride in our manufacturing of our goods and we got to get back to that again.

Dr.Jackson:

The other big issue that I'll bring in my platform is return to the rule of law in our country. You know we have, we have laws, we have a constitution. We we will support and back our police and sheriff's departments in our communities and our first responders, and we've got to put bad people away that break our laws and stop allowing all the infiltration of enemies that have been walking across our border in here and it's just horrible that Lindsey Graham was for amnesty. He wants to grant amnesty to all the illegal aliens in our country and that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. No other nation does that.

Dr.Jackson:

Nobody does that, and we shouldn't do it either.

Dr.Jackson:

Yes, so we've got to finish that. I'm so thankful Trump's back in office. I'll support all of that. And you know recently, we're not hearing Lindsey Graham. He is staying silent as more of Trump's appointments are being torpedoed. I know Tom Tillis torpedoed another Trump appointment and Paul Ingrassia and Lindsey Graham is saying nothing about that. Mike Lee is standing up in the Senate and he's asking the senators to get on board with Trump's appointments, but Lindsey Graham's not, and remaining silent is complicity.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah, that's right and it's working against Trump in and gavel in and gavel out and go through the formality of meeting and just closing the meeting back again during this recess period and Lindsey's remaining quiet about that, especially because of the new Russian hoax collusion that Tulsi Gabbard's brought out and Lindsey was involved in that, working with Comey and Brennan and Strzok and helping that go on. Let me ask you a question.

Dr.Jackson:

While you're on all of that? Why has President Trump continued to endorse Lindsey Graham? You and I and everybody in South Carolina know about his antics and his treachery. Why does he keep endorsing Lindsey Graham?

Dr.Jackson:

Well, all I can figure is that he's trying to work with him to get get his vote because they're so lean in the Senate. You know, with our majority it's a lean Senate majority and he's got to have his vote. And Trump's a businessman and he knows how to win and he's all about winning, and so America and South Carolina give him that. But we're all scratching our heads asking the same question, dr Jackson, because he's making it hard here in our state. He's endorsed the wrong people several times.

Dr.Jackson:

I agree he has and it's hurting us and he's got to know better.

Dr.Jackson:

And it costs my campaign a lot more money and time and sweat equity to get the message across and get people to trust us, because a lot of people that are uneducated they're going to, you know, the day of the primary election next June. They're going to. Oh whoa, I got to go vote real quick. And if they just look that up online and see Trump endorsed Lindsey, they might pull a lever for Lindsey, not even realizing, because they're just not educated about what's going on with the deep state. So I pray that this will end soon and Trump will recognize me. We've had people get my information to him. They're talking to him about me and my campaign and I hope he'll rescind his endorsement of Lindsey and endorse me. That's what we're praying for.

Dr.Jackson:

Yeah, we need to pray for that, and I hope my listeners are hearing this, yeah.

Dr.Jackson:

South Carolinian voters have said when we did our polls, 57% of the voters in South Carolina have said we will never vote for Lindsey Graham again and 60% of the voters say we prefer and will vote for a successful businessman.

Dr.Jackson:

And that's what I am. You know, god's blessed me and so I'm similar to Trump. I know about running a business and all the facets of keeping this going all these years and staying debt free, and it's just a God thing. It's because Jesus is my Lord and Savior and he knows how to run a great business. But that's what I'll bring to this office and I'll stop the corruption inside the Senate chambers. I'll get rid of the bad judges that are trying to overthrow executive orders from the commander-in-chief. You know I will support Donald Trump unless he loses his head or something. But if he's still like he is when I get in, he won't have to force me to work with him. He can rest easy that this senator from South Carolina will be on his side, because I'm an American first candidate and I'm a true conservative.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you All right. Well, let me ask you this now If my listeners want to support your campaign, be a volunteer, give financially. How would they go about doing that, mark Lynch?

Dr.Jackson:

Well, number one go to our website, Lynch4Senate. It's spelled out Lynch, L-y-n-c-h-f-o-r. Senatecom and go go there. And if you want to volunteer to help, there's a volunteer tab at the top. You can click on and and we have several categories of helping with knocking on doors, putting signs out, praying you can contribute to the campaign. It takes a lot of money to do this. We're going to need more than the $5 million we've put in of our own money, because it started now and we're only 11 months out until June, before the primary on June 9th. But the biggest way we went.

Dr.Jackson:

That's June of this year or next year.

Dr.Jackson:

Next year 2026.

Dr.Jackson:

Okay, okay.

Dr.Jackson:

So, but the biggest way you can help is in the way we win. This is on our knees, praying individually, repenting of our own personal sins so that God can hear our prayers in heaven and heal our land, like 2 Chronicles 7.14 talks about and I think, south Carolina, I know we're winning everywhere we travel. When people meet me and hear my heart and meet my family and hear our platform and meet my family and hear our platform, they're starving for a God-first candidate to help bring America First principles back into Congress again in the US Senate. I know they are.

Dr.Jackson:

I know they are. I hear it everywhere I go and people are disgusted with Lindsey Graham. I'm disgusted with Lindsey Graham and I'm ready for a change. And, mark Lynch, you can bring that change. I'm confident in it. I encourage my listeners to look up your website. I encourage them to go to one of Mark's rallies and get to know him personally. I've known Mark for I don't know 15 years or more and he's a man of integrity.

Dr.Jackson:

He's an honest businessman, hardworking businessman. He is an America first patriot. He's a strong pro-life candidate. He understands the issues and I am confident confident that he will serve well in this position in the Senate. But he's going to have to beat Lindsey in the primary and that's where it's going to happen. It's going to happen in the primary and that's where he's got to win this battle.

Dr.Jackson:

Well, people are ready. They love a successful businessman and how we think and operate and run things. They're tired of lawyers. They're tired of lawyers. They're tired of career politicians. You know, I'm a deacon in our church. I love this country and I hang out with the people that are fighting at the deepest level. That helped me decide to get into this. And you know, when I go home to meet Jesus, dr Jackson, I don't want to hear why didn't you run? You know, because he's called me to do this and I'm answering the call.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you, I hear you and I'll tell you we have great people in this state we're the majority still and everybody is getting involved. Everybody's talking to all their contacts on their phone and helping our campaign grow exponentially quickly so that people can study and read and they should. They need to vet me and know that they believe in what I'm saying. An educated voter, an informed voter, is so important. So I just thank you for this time again, dr Jackson, and I make a plea out to the listeners out there to help spread the message and help us. We need everybody's help in this. We're going up against a giant.

Dr.Jackson:

But he's just a man. Just a man, that's right.

Dr.Jackson:

God, the God in us, through the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, is greater than he that is in the world. That's right. We're going to take him out. It's over.

Dr.Jackson:

I hear you All right, tell us the website one more time.

Dr.Jackson:

Yes, lynch4senatecomforsenatecom lynchforsenatecom.

Dr.Jackson:

Dr.Jackson:
