Walking Away From Outside Influences: Reclaiming Your Inner Compass
Have you ever silenced that inner voice—the one warning you something wasn't quite right? That nagging feeling before making a poor decision, the discomfort in a healing session that didn't align with your energy, or the instant knowing that a diagnosis feels off? Today's exploration dives deep into our most underutilized superpower: intuition.
We've been systematically programmed to dismiss our internal guidance system in favor of external authorities. Whether it's the doctor's white coat, the friend's well-meaning advice, or the spiritual teacher's credentials, we've learned to override our gut instincts when they conflict with these outside voices. This disconnection leaves us vulnerable, dependent, and ultimately separated from our authentic selves. Through compelling real-world examples and personal stories, we examine how this pattern plays out repeatedly in our lives, creating consequences we could have avoided by simply trusting ourselves.
The journey back to self-trust begins with recognizing the difference between resonance and dissonance—those feelings of alignment or misalignment that speak volumes if we'd only listen. Your body's wisdom communicates through physical sensations, emotional responses, and subtle knowings that deserve your attention rather than dismissal. By reclaiming this internal compass and walking away from the external programming that's kept us small, we step fully into our power and sovereignty. Remember: everything you need is already within you. Your gut instinct isn't just some vague feeling—it's your divine guidance system designed to steer you toward your highest good. Isn't it time you started listening?

So won't you join me, teresa Marie, the traveling ambassador of Chi, on this transformative journey to rewrite our narratives and live lives of purpose and passion? And I do welcome you back to a walk away Wednesday. And I want to open by asking you have the guts to listen to your gut, because that's what I'm going to talk about walking away from today, walking away from listening to the externals. Now I want you to go here with me for a minute. Let's just paint some word pictures for each other. Shall we?
Speaker 1:Have you ever been somewhere where you knew that? You knew that. You knew in advance that you were about to do something really stupid. Okay, just go back to when you were a kid in the playground, for example. To when you were a kid in the playground, for example, and you're with a group of kids and one typically like the bully type kid says I dare you to go do X, y, z. And immediately, even as a child, your inner gut is saying warning, warning, don't do it, don't do it. But then, of course, you may have decided to go ahead and do it, and then you learn the hard way that the consequence of XYZ was detention at the school.
Speaker 1:Right, how about another example? You're with somebody at a car lot and they're there to help you pick out a car. You're ready to get a new ride, right, and the person that you have chosen to take with you is maybe kind of a dominant type of personality. And so you've chosen three cars to drive and you get in the first car and this person that you brought is super excited about this car. Oh man, isn't this the greatest? I mean, look at it, it's got leather seats. Oh, this is so. This is your car, this is your car, the person is saying. And you get in it and immediately you feel like, uh, no, this is not the car for me. And you drive it. And then you go to the next car and it's it's eh, you know. And then the third car you, you just have this warm, fuzzy feeling and you really like it. And all three cars are now driven and the person you brought with you is saying, oh, that first one, that would be, in my opinion, that would be the best choice. It's got this and that and it's in your price range and I really, really think that that's going to be your best choice. Think that that's going to be your best choice. But inside you're thinking of car number three, where you've had that warm fuzzy feeling.
Speaker 1:But you brought this person because this person has more discernment than you, or he or she has purchased many more vehicles than you and you're kind of new to this, and so you end up conceding, you end up telling your gut to shut up and you get that first vehicle and, lo and behold, hindsight is always 20-20. You have all sorts of glitches and problems with this car and, quite frankly, you hate to drive it Now. You may not have recognized at the time that you allowed an external to make the choice for you. But now that I've painted this picture, maybe other incidents in your life are coming up. Where did exactly that? Here's another one. You go to a doctor and you are given advice, advisement what do they call that? A diagnosis and inside you're thinking to yourself there is no way, that can't be true. I mean, how are they determining this? But because you're in a quote-unquote doctor's office and because this person has a white coat on, and because they have letters behind their name, you shut down that inner voice that's saying no, this can't be. And instead of at least even going for another opinion or maybe multiple opinions, you shut down that voice and you go with whatever it is that they tell you to do.
Speaker 1:How about in the holistic realm? I'll give you, let me give you an outside view of an external. There is somebody in my life that I happen personally. Now, it's been some years now, but back in the day I knew this person personally, and back in the day I knew this person personally and I had a personal witness that this person was very snarky, that they were bitter, that they had a lot of resentment and they were just outright mean. Okay, they had a lot of internal issues, and the reason I knew they had internal issues is because I saw them spilling out into this person's relationships around them. Right Now, imagine the person I just described as a Reiki healer, as somebody that is going to put their hands.
Speaker 1:You know they're going to scan your body with their hand and tell you where your blocks are. Now can you understand the conundrum there? This is a person that does not have clear chakra channels themselves, that has professed, and often these people are people that just take a six-week course, have no idea about energy, but they want to put their little nameplate out and they want to start making money off of you and you have no idea, right? So that would be. I'm giving you the external view of an external. So let's take this example and go a step deeper. So now you've been told by other people that this person that I just described to you is a Reiki healer and you have always wanted to try Reiki and you decide to take that recommendation and go to this person and you get into that person's space and you pay your money and they ask you to lay down on their table and immediately you have this really weird, uncomfortable feeling that, folks, is your gut, that is what you call your intuition, that is what you call your spidey sense, that is what you call what we need to listen to.
Speaker 1:But oftentimes and I'm giving you an example, not of that particular person I described, but years ago I did very much that I went to a Reiki session I'd never done one and the person was recommended and I was well over 50 at the time and the person I was recommended the people that recommended this person to me was full of positivity and oh yeah, they're so good at what they do. But here I was over 50 and I came to that session that I paid for and the person was barely out of their 20s. Now I am not judging, because I know that. I know that. I know that there are people that have incredible holistic healing gifts and they've had them from the time they were children. That does happen.
Speaker 1:However, my experience at this particular session was it was very interesting and and this is all hindsight it really wasn't coming in at the time that I was there. I was there, I had a lot of anticipation, I had a lot of expectation Two things that you really don't want to go into a healing center or session with. You want to empty your cup and you want to have no expectations and you want to just see what the spirit is going to do. Let the spirit flow, right. Okay. So those were on me expectations and anticipation, right. And my anticipation, of course, was built upon this recommendation, you know, with glowing colors, and you know, oh yeah, this is the person you want to go to.
Speaker 1:Well, I got on the table and, you know, I tried to just be very relaxed and to just observe what was happening and in retrospect, what was happening was this person was very, very uncomfortable. Now I know now that the person was uncomfortable because this person did have some training in energy. This person had begun to sense energy fields. Okay, and this is not arrogant statement or an egotistical statement, but in retrospect I now understand that this person was feeling my energy and just because I've lived with myself now for well over 60 years and I have been working on myself and specifically with energy fields and and you know I've learned a lot about quantum in general and have become acutely aware of my own energy field and now more and more the energy fields of others, I now recognize that I do have a very powerful chi and over the years have been called to the carpet about that. And on the negative side it comes off as intimidation or being pushy or like the bull in the china shop. But on the positive side it's just a very bright, very strong, very shiny, a very powerful energy. Is what I walk with, what I am.
Speaker 1:And that person who had just begun her healing practice, didn't have a whole lot of confidence built yet, didn't have a whole lot experiential knowledge behind her practice yet, was feeling that Now, I didn't understand that in the beginning, but I just I wasn't feeling anything. She asked me several questions. She said do you feel this? And I just was being honest, I was like no, and when I was responding, you know, to her questions in a way that you know, she was expecting me to say what she was feeling and I just wasn't feeling it, you know. And so I was honest and and the more that that inner, inner communication, that that communication exchange was happening. Now, in retrospect, looking back at it, she was getting more and more unsure of herself and that was coming across. And so we were both having gut feelings. Her gut feelings was like I don't know what I'm doing, and this woman knows that, but I didn't really know it at the time and I was feeling like, well, what am I supposed to feel here? You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:So our gut, our intuition, our inner knowing, our inner voice is uber, uber, uber important humanity and we unfortunately living in this 3D matrix world that we are trained to go everywhere but inside and the truth is like the Wookiee Foot song says, we're it, we are literally it, and that is the last thing our matrix controllers want us to recognize that the buck stops right here. I'm pounding my chest and you need to take your thumb and point it right to your chest as well, because in the big picture, you know, I'd even take it in a spiritual way the Christian world would say you're going to stand before your God all by yourself. Nobody's going to be there holding your hand. It's the same concept with life. That's why I say in the beginning of my pod we're taking full responsibility of our body, mind and soul, because nobody else can. We're the only you know ground control to Major Tom. We are the controller, we are Major Tom, we're the space capsule. We are it okay, we are it. We're the space capsule, we are it okay, we are it and our its have this inner voice, this inner steering, this inner knowledge, intuition, this knowledge, everything that we need to excel, to succeed, to live an incredible life is inside. But it is our job to go in there.
Speaker 1:Well, actually, it kind of starts outside. It comes right back around to why Free To Just Be, be, came to be. And that is because I, 20 plus years ago, had this uncontrollable internal itch that something was not right, something was awry in my life, that there was something much more, that I had a bigger purpose than just spinning my wheels on a hamster cage called the matrix merry-go-round right. And when that starts happening, then you start beginning to recognize that all of these externals be their voices, programs, people, white papers, prescriptions, tv shows, whatever it is that you have been reaching outside of yourself, have been the ones that were guiding your life. And you suddenly have this wake-up call, this big, huge red pill that tells you oh my gosh, I never really resonated.
Speaker 1:There's a big old word that I highly suggest that you do your homework and get real familiar with the word resonance. The opposite is dissonance. What do those mean? What do those mean for you and your life? Resurrect inquisition right now. And if you're listening to this recording, pause it and go look up what resonance and dissonance mean, because those are your guideposts, those are the yellow lights. Sometimes it's a red light flashing morning, morning morning. It's your gut, it's your instinct, it's your intuition, it's your inner knowingness.
Speaker 1:But it begins by recognizing that you indeed have allowed nobody did this to us folks. Allowed, nobody did this to us folks. We allowed other voices other than our own to guide and direct our path. Now, the spirit world let me take that back the religious world will tell you, yeah, but you know, feelings will lie to you. You can't listen to your feelings. Okay, I am telling you right now, flat out, that that is a lie from the pit of hell, because feelings are exactly what needs to be listened to and they'll tell you feelings change and feel. You know, feelings come and feelings go. Yes, it's true, a feeling, an emotion, is nothing more than energy, but energy is the currency of life and energy is also where our knowingness is. So trusting those inner feelings, especially if they become physical.
Speaker 1:All right, I'll give you a very easy to recognize example. You are walking from a store at night to your vehicle and you, all of a sudden have goosebumps down the back of your neck and those goosebumps make you so uncomfortable that you turn around and now you recognize that there's somebody following you. That would be a physical manifestation of your gut feeling, your inner, knowing your instincts. You understand what I'm saying and what I'm asking us to consider is to start laying down those externals that we have run to our whole. Run to friends that we think know better than us, two friends that we think know better than us. We go back over and over again to what our parents said, even if what our parents said as kids might have been erroneous, but we've taken it into our adulthood because our parents said it. You know, and that's gospel. But if it feels like an untruth, 99.9% of the time it is going to go against your inner knowing.
Speaker 1:Externals are just that. They are things that we have been taught, like Pavlov's dogs, to reach for. It's the little doggy biscuit, it's the little treat, it's the little crumb that the enemy of our soul is giving us, just the little enticement to exito away from knowledge. Everything we need is right inside of us. So today, my dear, dear dear siblings in this wonderful family called humanity, I ask you to take stock of yourself, of yourself, take stock of who you are and empower yourself, to recognize that empowerment has little to do with the externals and everything to do with that inner voice that's covered up by all these veils of unconsciousness.
Speaker 1:Can you decide today to maybe remove one more layer? And maybe today, as I was speaking and giving word picks, maybe you thought of a time. Maybe it's a hindsight lesson. A lot of lessons come as hindsight first, and then you get more familiar with the lesson and then you start recognizing them, maybe as you're in the middle of doing it, and then eventually they become foresight, and then eventually that external just falls off, it's gone, you don't deal with it anymore. But first you have to begin to recognize.
Speaker 1:So maybe some of these stories have loosened a little bit of a memory, because all we do for each other, humanity, is remind us what we already know inside. So today we have permission to walk away from anything that doesn't feel right. What's the greatest thing that could happen if you do that Is that you have saved yourself from harm. And what's the worst that could happen if you go with your gut? Well, maybe you've missed an opportunity, which then becomes a hindsight lesson, but I want you to remember, as I close down today's Walk Away Wednesday, the times where you knew better, you made a choice and went against what you knew was the right thing, and keep that in mind was the right thing. And keep that in mind because that, my friend, is your gut instinct and our gut instinct is what God created as our steering wheel and we need to become real confident in our knowing. And, on that note, teresa Marie, the traveling ambassador of Chi, wishes you a wonder-filled Wednesday of exploring your gut instincts. Peace out.
