What if authenticity isn’t something you build—but something you remember? We explore how to return to a natural state of balance where joy, love, and clarity are the baseline, not the exception. Starting with a simple definition of “natural,” we examine how societal conditioning—the “matrix”—layers fear over our innate goodness and why awakening is less about adding and more about removing what dulls the signal. Through a tender story about a child’s first encounters with rejection, we show how innocence braces against the world and how the body keeps score. Then we lay out a practical, science-informed roadmap for coming home to yourself.

We walk through twenty grounded practices that restore inner ease: daily gratitude to retrain attention, movement to discharge stress, sleep as nonnegotiable repair, mindful presence as a skill, and real connection as a nervous system reset. We talk about limiting screen time to reclaim attention, using acts of kindness to shift state, and relying on nature, music, and laughter to recalibrate quickly. We get specific about food choices that support mental health, simple breathwork to widen your calm window, journaling to externalize loops, self-compassion to convert shame into learning, and boundaries to protect growth. We also address purpose as an organizing principle, therapy when needed, and the liberating practice of acceptance and letting go.

Throughout, we keep one thread: you are not your thoughts or your roles—you are the awareness beneath them. From that center, the classic fruits of a well-lived inner life—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—become daily capacities rather than distant ideals. If you’re ready to trade reactivity for presence and noise for signal, this conversation offers tools you can try today and a framework you can grow with. Subscribe, share with someone who needs a gentle nudge back to themselves, and leave a review to help more people find this work. What practice will you start with this week?

SPEAKER_00:

Authenticity is our natural state of being. The authentic self is a state where we're centered, creative, adaptive, and inspired. But we live in a matrix program. So how do we get back to that a natural state of being? Well, come on in, grab yourself a cup of coffee, and let's have a conversation about it, shall we? As I welcome you back to Free to Just Be, the podcast empowering humanity to courageously step out of those old patterns, false beliefs, matrix programs, childhood traumas, and leave it all behind to embrace new ways of being. And I hope this finds us all in great health this morning with vibrant energy today because we have all chosen to accept the full responsibility for our body, minds, and souls. Here on Free to Just Be, we will inspire each other to truly be who we came here to be: authentic, free, and aligned with our highest potentials. So join me on this transformative awakening journey to rewrite our narratives and live lives of purpose and passion. And I do, I just welcome you to this wonder-filled Wednesday on Free to Just Be. I am Teresa Marie, an ambassador of God's Chi, and your host of Free to Just Be, this wonderful podcast where I encourage my brothers and sisters in Humanityville to become more of their authentic self. And we are continuing a series using the word authenticity as an acrostic to deepen our understanding and conversate about how we become more authentic. So if you put authenticity vertically on your page, we're going through each of the first letters of authenticity, and today we are on the N. We have gone through the A, which was appreciating our divinity, the U, unlocking our inner child, T for trusting our inner voice, our spidey sense, H for helping humanity by honoring ourselves. E, we talked about experience and the value that it brings. And today we're going to talk about natural states of being. And let's open the conversation. Well, before I open the conversation, I just ask and I would be so incredibly grateful if you hit the like button and subscribe to the Free to Just Be station, wherever, whatever platform you're listening on, that would raise the algorithms and reach more people. And I would be so grateful if you liked this podcast. And if it's resonating with you, then please subscribe to my podcast. I would appreciate it greatly. So as I often do, let's begin with some defining. Let's define the word natural, for example. Existing in or derived from nature. Oh, what about that? Now, if you're a Christian and read your Bible, you know that dust from dust, we return to the earth. So literally, Mother Earth, who was here for millenniums before people arrived, she she, the earth, is literally our womb room. Because if you believe the Christian definition of where we came from, then you know that we were formed from the earth. He picked up the earth and blew life into it, and we became human, God like, made in his image. And the definition of natural means existing in or derived from nature. The other definition of natural is not made or caused by people. So there it is again. There is a creator, and Theresa Marie believes that creator is God, our father, and our divine mother, which is the planet. And natural also means not artificial. So our natural state came from nature, and we are trying to get back to that natural state as we peel back all those layers of unconsciousness and come back to natural states of being. So let's define what a natural state of being is. The intrinsic, which means it is in everything, it's everywhere. Unconditioned or pure state of one's consciousness, often characterized by qualities like peace, joy, love, and purity. Before what? Before societal influences. Ah, yes. So therein lies the awakening journey. We are doing our best to put aside all the societal influences, all the darkness, and remember, awake and remember who we really are. And who are we really? My dear, dear siblings, my fellow human beings. We are we the body? Are we literally our body? No. The body houses us, and what is us? Pure energy. We are light and love. Just like the spark of God whose image we are made in. We are made in the image of God, and his image is purity and love and light and all of those attributes. So why is coming back to our natural state so incredibly important to our attempts of becoming more authentic? Well, let's look at some of those beautiful attributes. You know, Deepak Chopper even says that being joyful is our natural state of being. It's the foundation for love, compassion, healing, and the desire to alleviate suffering. Now, isn't it incredible that as we awaken, as we took that red pill and recognized that we were being lied to, and one by one we start peeling back those matrix programs, what happens to us? Well, as you awaken, you have such a desire to share your awakening with others. Because as you step away from the matrix, you begin to alleviate your own suffering. And then you have the desire to help others alleviate their suffering. Thus, my podcast, and thousands of others who are out there sharing how they stepped away from the matrix, stepped away from programming, became their more true authentic self, and we want to share that. What else does Deepak say? Affluence, unboundedness, I love that word. We're not bound anymore by the matrix, so we become unbounded. So affluence, unboundedness, and abundance are our natural states. And we need only to restore what does Deepak say? We only need to restore the memory of what we already know. Oh my goodness. That is such, that is such truth and wisdom right there. And as I've always said and I share all the time, and you hear it from so many other people that are on the awakening journey, that this journey to become our authentic self is not an outside job. No, it is an inside job, baby. And once we remember that, once we awaken and realize that all the answers are inside, then we go through this process. First, it's like that jarring awakening, and you're like, oh my gosh. But then what do we do? We long, we fight for, we end up spending more and more time where? Outside in society? No, we long to have that inside experience. We long to close our eyes and remember who we are, to meditate on the light and the love that we are, to go inside and soak in that intrinsic force that we are. And the more we do it, the more able, the more stable, the more centered we become, and then we can go out back into society and be more balanced. And that is how the process happens. What's the opposite of our natural state? Fear. Fear is not the natural state of civilized people. And we are all, if we would just remember, civilized. The societal influences, the matrix that's constantly spinning and spinning and churning is what brings in all the fear, all the hate, all the comparison, all the tumultuousness that we are living is all caused by something very, very unnatural. Jean Jacques Rousserio says people in their natural state are basically good. But this natural innocence is what? Corrupted by the evils of society. We live in a very dark society. The matrix is not good, it is full of evil and darkness and empty of all that we are looking for. The matrix is literally the very opposite of our natural state. And I want you to think about a child for a minute. Think about the purity and the natural love and compassion and oh I I just keep going back to that word pure. I want you to picture in your mind a three-year-old child in your world. Even four or five. And I always picture, I picture my grandchildren because as a parent, you you kind of miss the awe after a while of your child. When you become a parent at first, you were just absolutely in love with that baby. And why? Because it's a remembrance, folks. It's a remembrance of who we were. We were all. We all showed up on this planet in that pure natural state of being. That state of love and light. And oh uh my favorite picture is my granddaughter Emerald and going to preschool, and how she would get out of the car and and she would be so animated and and full of love, and her whole body language was of excitement and curiosity and love. And she would run up to people and say, Hi, you want to be my best friend? And she just loved on everybody and everything until the mean girls showed up in her life. And I can remember seeing the body language of those first and second graders who would look down on her with condescension. And as she ran up to them and said, You want to be my best friend? And they would look down on her and say, No. And I would watch Emerald's pure natural state. The first time it was like, you know, it it it like stung her. And and it didn't even affect her. She was so pure, and she would just smile anyway. And then one by one, the days would come and go. And soon and very soon, much sooner than this Grammy wanted to witness, she would just shut it down. And then there came the days where I would take her to school and we would listen to the songs that she wanted to listen to. And we're talking two years ago now. She wanted to listen to the song by Wookiee Foot. Breathe in, breathe out. Right? Take it in. Put put it out. And then the day would come that she would ask to hold my hand. And then as we get closer to school, I would hear her breathing in and breathing out. And then the tears would come. And I would ask her, Emerald, what's wrong? And she would say, I don't want to go to school. And I would have to share with her that just hold on to your light. When it gets hard, just breathe in and remember who you are, your love and light, Emerald. And she would breathe in and breathe out, and then she'd wipe her tears away. And as we'd pull in to the front of the school where she'd have to open the door and get out, I would watch her literally take a breath and raise herself up and then take an exhale. And as I'd say, have a great day, she would look at me with such sadness in her eyes, but with a resolution that she was gonna go in. What was she doing? She was preparing herself for the onslaught of the societal influence. And she'd step out of the car and she'd slam the door, and then her shoulders would drop as she'd walk to the school. It would break my heart to witness that. And this is what our children go through. Denying their natural state of love and joy and purity, and guarding themselves from the onslaught of school, of work, of society. This is what we are allowing to happen to our children. This is what happened to us. And so today, as we talk about natural states and how to get back to them, I want to give a rapid fire, 20 science-based tips for better emotional well-being to help us go back to our natural states. And I chose this article from October 5th of this year from Science News Today because each of these 20, I did I literally practice. And I didn't get them from here. I just got them over the last 20 years of my own awakening journey. And they're very solid and they're very centered. And I would love for you to look at this article. So as I begin these 20 tips to get us back to our natural states of being, I'm going to leave the link so that you can actually read the article too. But I'm going to add my own little nuances to each of these 20 tips. Number one way of getting back to our natural state is practicing gratitude daily. It's one of the simplest tools that we can use. And I'm telling you, if you begin to train yourself to always look for the good instead of the bad, it's going to shift you away from that societal way of thinking about fear and anger and all the have nots. Truly, if you begin and end your day with listing what you're grateful for and then pulling out that grateful list, you know, anytime the darkness hits you, oh my gosh, it's raining. Well, thank God for liquid sunshine. You begin to literally hit back every time the darkness tries to hit. Number two, one of my favorites, move your body regularly. In fact, I am doing it now as I speak. I am standing from my chair, moving my microphone up to the standing spot. Why? Because energy is what we are. And what does energy need to move? What does it need to do? It needs to move. Energy needs movement. And so regularly moving your body is an incredible help. I want you to stop and think. Every thought, every emotion, what is emotion? It's energy in motion. So when you get hit with a trigger, for example, something upsets your cart, your emotional cart, a word is said, somebody looks at you wrong, a circumstance happens. Get up, move your body, and you might find instantaneous relief. Because emotions are nothing more than yellow flags to remind us that there's something inside us that we need to deal with. So an emotion of anger comes up. Begin to move, walk around. Even if you have to walk around in your little cubicle at work, just walk in a circle. Do something to move your body, particularly vertically. If you're sitting, stand up because your chakras, your meridians, need to have that flow of energy through your body. So I'm a big advocate of moving meditation. I practice my qi gungs every morning. I do a morning wake up routine. I do somatic exercises, which again helps regulate your body and takes you back to what? That natural state of being. Number three, prioritize quality sleep. I never realized how very much sleep mattered until I returned from my sojourn away from my husband for 22 months. And when I returned home to our marital home and to uh just the joy of being back together, I I couldn't believe it. For like that first week, I was sleeping eight, ten, sometimes twelve hours. Why? Because my body had been through so much trauma, so much healing, so much um walking away from this program and that program for being in solitude for months at a time, for um being just with God. I mean, I literally was out there, and yes, I had friends, and yes, I had coworkers, but I was out there by myself. And that takes a lot out of your body, mind, and soul. This awakening journey is incredible work. It's it's not a cakewalk, it's not skateboarding through one dimension to the to another. No, it is hard freaking work. And so give yourself a gift of good sleep. And believe it or not, as someone who, oh, I, you know, I touted and I was proud of the fact that, oh, I only need six hours of sleep. Well, you know what? Truly, truly, truly, especially as you begin to awaken, seven to eight hours should be your baseline. Okay. Number four, practice mindful meditation. I just talked about moving meditation and learning how to be. We are humans doing. We are we are not human beings, not until that awakening begins. When we begin to wake up to the actuality that we just do, do do do, and we're distracted and we're no being mindful, sitting and just being, learning how to hear your breath, learning how to just feel your toes and your fingers, it teaches us to be fully present in our moments without judgment. It's an extremely important practice. One, dare I say, from experience, when you first begin to wake up, sitting even for five minutes feels and is actually almost impossible because we are trained to not have conscious awareness. We are trained to have our brain going, going, going, going, going. We are not trained to learn how to sit and just be quiet. So number four, practicing mindfulness is uber important in our journey to become more authentic. Number five, strengthen social connections. This is super, super important. We are in an internet age and everybody is online, and we have forgotten to literally connect with other people, to conversate with one another, to nurture relationships, and it may be just with one or two people, but it's super important for you know my own authentic real-time example. Even though I am estranged from some of my children right now for various reasons, and mark my words, this will happen to you. You might say to yourself, I can't be around this particular friend anymore because I am trying to get away from covering up my emotions with substance abuse. You may have a child who suddenly wakes up to all their childhood traumas and decides, you know what, I need a break from you, Mom. I don't even want to talk to you. And you're gonna have to suck it up, buttercup, and recognize that you have to honor and respect their awakening journey as much as you want others to honor and respect yours. So there are connections that you're gonna have to develop. And dare I say, that as you evolve and as your vibrations, as your um your authenticity and your um energetic signature changes, you are going to seek out people that are in that same energetic signature. Now, nobody has the same signature. However, maybe as you awaken, you'll discover that you are gravitating towards other people that are more awake and your friend group begins to shift. Know that this is going to happen and strengthen the connections that you are resonating with and continue to seek out the healing with those that maybe aren't vibrating with you. Number six, Biggie. It's a big, big one. Limit screen time and digital overload. OMG, this is huge because most of our dark energies right now, currently on the planet are coming from online influences. They are attached to everything and every every entity on the internet. We know that they're tracking us, all of that. And the way to best mitigate and navigate through this is to limit you, use all those tools available on your phone. Begin to track how much you're online and do the first wake-up call. And when you recognize how much time you are wasting online, then utilize that tool and begin to applaud yourself as your online time decreases over time. You may start out with 30 hours a week or something equally ridiculous, and then begin to applaud yourself when it's 24 hours a week. And you know, uh I I will tell you, let's uh let's see. Um I have my phone available. Let's see what my screen time is this week. Each week it gets better and better and better, and it'll say, good for you. You have four hours this week, which is better than the six hours of last week. And make it a game because I'm telling you, getting away from the internet as much as we feel like we need it is gonna really help your awakening journey. Number seven, engage in acts of kindness, pay it forward. Oh my gosh, kindness is huge and a powerful, powerful um. tool in our tool belt belt and it not only will improve your mood it it it's like um let me share my double whammy um I use the double whammy all the time for example when I pray that I myself would be kind I will also pray for somebody in my world that is unkind and pray for kindness in their life pow pow that is a double whammy to the darkness because first off the darkness does not want you to pray for strength for yourself but if you then pray for strength of another you are double punching poop boom so and acts of kindness are very important on this awakening journey number eight one of my absolute favorites spend time in nature you can you can do this threefold you can go outside you can move and you can do a moving meditation walk through the woods walk through a park sometimes go to the park and keep the earbuds out of your ears and just enjoy the sounds of nature or walk in a park and use your moli beads and direct your mind to the positivity that you want to see evoked in your life. Number nine eat for mental health what what how do you eat for mental health well you begin we're gonna do a whole series on on this health part because I am literally walking myself out and in to better mental health through what I'm putting in my temple. And the way that we do this is we begin to identify the foods that are affecting us. They're all affecting us folks and I've always shared before if you're new to this journey as far as the health aspect of becoming more authentic and more free to be who you are, start with filtering your water. There are so many chemicals coming into our water and then resurrect inquisition about food. I am now currently preservative free. I am almost completely sugar free. And all of those um absences of all the preservatives and all the the stuff that is wreaking havoc to our health when you clear those out of your physical body oh my goodness the clarity that it brings to your body mind and soul it's incredible. Number 10 learn how to breathe properly OMG I don't need to say anymore you know how I've talked about and how I live a life where I am doing that tai chi breath work breathe in through your nose and exhale out your mouth life changing. Number 11 practice self-compassion how many times on this podcast have I said take your right hand put it on your shoulder take your left put it on your shoulder hug yourself be kind to yourself treat yourself the way you want to be treated incredibly important. Number 12 journal your thoughts and feelings need I say more I have been journaling since I was nine or ten years old. I have journals dated back to the 70s incredible help especially if you go back and look at the at your journals and you begin to unravel all those patterns that you've lived with number 13 listen to music you want to change your vibrations immediately put on songs that you know uplift you. If if you literally need a good cry you can put on certain music and evoke that music is an incredible tool use it daily number 14 laugh often this is one that I am learning needs to really I need to literally put in a time frame every day where I I do whatever it takes to make me laugh out loud. Laughter is incredible medicine. 15 set boundaries and learn to say no just like I said earlier when I talked about connections it's very very important to not let people walk on you it's very important to say you know what I I can choose to not take that phone call or to respond to that email or to avoid an event because I don't like the way it makes me feel you have that right and you need to exercise that right often you also need to practice just practice with me right now no no no no no no no learn to say the word we often just take on all sorts of stuff that isn't ours we need to keep boundaries up and we need to learn to use that word no number 16 develop a growth mindset well you know I say it often resurrect inquisition folks you are in charge of you nobody is going to grow nobody is going to heal you nobody is going to um help you through this matrix um deletion but you and the way to do that is remember we are to learn something new every day and if you're not learning something new every day you are dying and we're not dying folks we are learning every day how to be free to just be so develop a growth mindset. Number 17 limit alcohol and substance abuse I say this agnostium um substance abuse does nothing more than cover up what it is you need to heal. It is simply a band aid I am to the place now where I will consciously choose on a particular day to say you know what I am going to have that twisted tea but you know what those days are far and few between now and I I often use cannabis for just medicinal reasons um joint pain or what have you but you need to completely understand that all of those substances that the world that society that the matrix wants you to take oh just take that happy pill you'll feel so much better why will you feel better because you're forgetting you are covering up you are stuffing we don't want to do that anymore we want to look at everything that's causing us to want to retract so that we can heal it get over it delete it from our lives number 18 create meaning and purpose oh my goodness as we wake up as we become freer and freer to be who we are oh wow does that uncover the reason that we're here suddenly we have meaning suddenly we want to help others suddenly we are not the number one um issue in our life we see the big problem and we want to help each other creating meaning and purpose absolutely follows getting free to just be who you are number 19 seek professional help when needed there is nothing wrong with counseling counseling is nothing more than finding a safe person usually a person who knows nothing about you that's not connected with you that you just sit and talk to because you'll discover that really you're the counselor because what they do is they just ask pointed questions and you're the one that's doing the unraveling you're the one that's doing the the real healing and they're just the ones getting paid for it. Just saying and number 20 practice acceptance and letting go all right this is a hard one but when you're beginning to do all the others this is the most liberating when you can finally get to the point where whatever comes up you acknowledge it you recognize it you say hey I know you guilt and shame you're the twins I have lived with my whole life and then you learn how to let them go. Ah here you are again you know you used to hang out with me all the time guilt and shame but remember on this particular date I said I don't need to live in guilt and shame anymore and I let you go and you're trying to knock at my door again but I'm not answering. So here are 20 tips and in conclusion to our episode on natural states of being I want to just bring to your remembrance what the word of God says now we talked about how happiness is the natural state of mankind and is never achieved from the outside in it's always been and will always be an inside job. And if fear is not the natural state of civilized people wouldn't it behoove us all to continue on this awakening journey so that we can open up our authenticity which is our natural state of being where we're centered creative adaptive and inspired and Maharishi Maheshyogi said balance is the natural state of life because the basic characteristics of the fundamental elements of life which is pure consciousness is complete balance and in Galatians 5 22 and 23 God talks about the fruit of that balance the fruit of the spirit because that's what we are we are not our minds we are not even our hearts we're not our emotions we're not our thoughts we are pure spirit and the fruit of that spirit is what love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control so today consider returning to your natural state because our natural state is the foundation for all of that love compassion healing and even a desire to alleviate suffering that is my goal for free to just be that together we can heal ourselves and each other by becoming who we came here to be our authentic self. I love you humanity I hope you've gained some value from today's episode on natural states and tomorrow we will continue our deep dive into what authentic authenticity means and we will hit letter T in the word authenticity and talk about truthful trends. Have a wonderful Wednesday I love you. Peace
