Nature>>Self>>God: A Practical Path to Connection

Ever notice how peace shows up the moment your feet hit the earth? We follow that thread and build a simple, repeatable sequence—connect with nature, turn inward to your true self, and open a direct line to God—that transforms anxiety into steadiness and isolation into meaningful presence. I walk you through the practicals: a seven-day outside challenge, how to move energy from fast to still, and why even a city block can become sacred ground when you step out with intention.

We talk about the trap of fabricated connection—constant notifications, endless Zoom, scrolling that numbs instead of nourishes—and why the body needs real rhythms to reset. By aligning with cycles of light, season, and breath, it becomes easier to hear your higher self beneath old programming and childhood scripts. From that grounded place, prayer stops being performance and becomes conversation. Expect warmth, small signs, and timely nudges that stitch into a pattern of care. Call it coincidence at first; over time, you’ll recognize guidance. That’s where passion resurfaces and purpose starts feeling obvious instead of out of reach.

This is not about escaping real life. It’s about carrying peace into it. Begin your day by seeking the divine first, step outside—even for ten minutes—and check in with your highest self before the inbox. Watch how your attention clears, how triggers loosen, and how the “yellow brick road” moments line up. If you’re ready to trade noise for depth and hurry for presence, press play, take the seven-day challenge, and tell me where you’ll reconnect first. If this spoke to you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review so more people can find their path back to peace.

When we are connected to nature and learn how to connect with God and discover a connection to our own soul, we have the very best energies backing us up for life. Today, on an open your mind Monday, we open our hearts to learn to deepen our connections. And I welcome you back to Free to Just Be, the podcast empowering humanity to courageously identify, acknowledge, and then step out of our old patterns, false beliefs, heal our childhood traumas, and oh baby, learn how to step off the matrix programming and give a big old hug to a brand new way of being. And I hope this finds us all in the greatest health with vibrant energy today because we have all chosen to accept the full responsibility for our body, minds, and souls. Here on Free to Just Be, your host, that'd be me, Teresa Marie, your ambassador of Chi, will try to inspire all of us to truly be who we came here to be, which starts with authenticity, freedom, and being aligned with our highest potential. So join me, won't you, on this transformative awakening ascension journey to rewrite our narratives and live lives of purpose and passion. And I do welcome you back to an open your mind Monday where we are on day nine of twelve days of deepening the meaning in our lives of authenticity. Yes, we are in a series going through an acrostic of the word authenticity, and we have been through nine letters already. A for appreciating your divinity, U for unlocking the inner child, T for trusting your inner voice, H for helping humanity by honoring ourselves, E for experience, N for natural states, T for truthful trends, and Friday we left the week talking about imagination. And today we are going to broaden and open our hearts to connection. Connection with what? Well, first off with nature, with ourselves, and ultimately with God. And I just uh really am excited about today's episode because connection is incredibly, incredibly important. So let's first talk about what connect means. Connect means to join or fasten together. That would be in like the physical realm. It also means a way to establish communication. That would be another connection. Relationally, it's to form personal or emotional bonds with others. And to allow for transfers between different modes of transportation. So that would be the definition of transportation. Like, for example, um, connections between airline flights or buses, but now let's apply that to our awakening journey. Transportation between dimensions, between the third dimension and the fifth, say, or transportation from your old self to your higher self, from the matrix to freedom. So see, connection is important in all realms. And then there is the logic relation, you know, to associate or relate ideas, events, or people. And there's a link between all of those, right? And then connection itself, the meaning of connection is to act or being being in the state of being connected. So today we are going to learn all about the three different aspects of connection. Now, scientists have told us for years that connection is crucial for health and longevity because strong social ties can improve mental and physical well-being, reduce stress, and lower the risk of chronic diseases. So you would think that connection would be very important. The opposite, loneliness and social isolation, have been shown to increase the risk of premature death by 26 to 29%, folks. And interacting with others is an exercise for your brain, one of the best ways to improve your cognitive flexibility, says Dr. Sha from the Mayo Clinic. So it's a very important concept, this whole connection thing. But the sages of old, especially those who follow the Tao or the Tao De Qing, those sages suggested to us eons ago that human beings should start with what? Plants and then move to animals before they move to connections with people. And there's a lot of truth to that. So where I'd like to start today is the connection with nature. Because we are in a world that, oh my gosh, the connections are so ridiculous. We cannot get away from being connected, can we? I mean, it is um constant connection. You are um connected at the drop of a hat. You're connected by the little machine in your pocket. You are connected um through that that cell connection. You're connected uh on the internet, you're connected by Zoom. Everything is but what? It is a fabrication of the true connection. Now we understood in a in a grave way back in um 2012 when COVID hit, and we were all quote unquote forced to retreat inside and not go to work and be isolated and uh have our communication covered up and and we flailed around, didn't we? First of all, we allowed it to happen, and then we recognized just how badly we really needed each other. So, in my humble opinion, their big attempt to stop our connections. I mean, they literally wanted us to live in the metaverse, right? They wanted us to exchange literal physical and um social communication with each other. We we were asked to consider replacing that by putting these ridiculous goggle glasses on us and have the perception of being with people. Well, sorry folks, that didn't work, did it? And Meta pretty much failed because we need all the connections that I just talked about. And the first one I want to talk about really opens up all connection. If you feel like um you are isolated or lonely or uh self-conscious, and and all of these that I'm mentioning right now are all ways of the matrix that keep us from that crucial connection. Connection with nature, connection with ourself, connection with God. Before we can have God or Christ consciousness enter our life, we have to have self-consciousness. And how do we get to self-consciousness? Well, one of the quickest ways of opening the door to self-consciousness is through Mother Nature. Nature is our um our way of grounding us to who we are. We're all we're all one and we're all connected. And connecting with nature not only grounds us to that power, it makes us much more spiritually aware. And when our awareness is peaked, then we can all learn all these different lessons.

O. Wilson said that nature holds the key to our aesthetic, so in other words, our visual and what we we see and view and feel, our intellectual, our cognitive, and even our spiritual satisfaction. That all comes from nature. Angie Crosby said that nature is the purest portal to inner peace. Why is it that when we go on a vacation, especially if we go camping in the woods or if we go to the beach, the beach is a big place of restoration and rest and and uh rejuvenation? Why? Because we are barefoot, we're walking on Mother Earth in the sand, we're connecting with the ocean, we have um all the cleansing um properties of the salt water. Um when we're in the woods camping, we're connected with the the wisdom and the knowledge and the depth of the trees, and we're sleeping on the earth. Why does this make us feel so good? Because we are literally from the earth, we were created from the dust, and life was breathed into us, and we are so connected with nature that you know. Well, and I want you to stop and think for a minute. Just use your imagination, like we talked about on Friday. You are in a high stress job, and you've been looking forward to this one-week vacation that you, you know, you're gonna take one week out of the year, and you have all this anticipation. And the first, say, two days that you are on this quote-unquote vacation, you're still completely wound up, you're tight, you're tense, and it often takes us 24 to 48 hours to just slow ourselves down enough, to unwind enough. But then what happens? Then you're able to sit on that lawn chair or lay on that blanket, and now you're just breathing and you're watching the clouds, or you're laying with your eyes closed, listening to the waves, or you're actually allowing yourself the time to look at the stars or feel the wind blowing through the leaves on the trees, right? And suddenly we enter into this place of peace. And then unfortunately, because of the world we live in, before day six arrives when we have to go home, on day five, we're already stressing over the fact that we have to go home. So, see, getting into nature on the daily becomes a game changer. Because if we can take what we just imaged in about vacation and going outside, no matter where it is that you go, if you are outside walking, if you are bicycling, if you are skateboarding, if you're in a kayak, anything outside. Even if you live in the city and all you can do is go outside and walk around the block. Uh, if you you find a public park, um, a field to walk in, anywhere where you can in some way, shape, or form connect with nature. What do we do in the winter? We bring nature from outside in. We have house plants, we uh maybe have a fish tank, um, we have pets that connect us with Mother Nature. Nature is very, very important, and when we embrace the healing power of nature to replenish our body, minds, and spirit, it becomes the greatest place to heal and recharge. Now, one of the other advantages of nature is the ability to quiet our minds. The longer we're out in nature, the longer we can just shut the mind off, the longer we can just sit and be, right? So getting into nature is a very, very important part of this awakening journey. Um, it gets us to sort, like when you first step on the pathway of ascension and way awakening, you you have all this um tumultuous snowy going on inside of you. And when you go outside and begin to walk and you begin to move, it it has incredible benefits of first allowing the energy to move through your meridians and your chakras. Um, emotion that we're feeling, all of that frustration and overwhelm and feeling like you're missing the mark and there's stuff missing in your life. Well, that is all what? It's energy that needs to move. So the twofold benefit of going out in nature is one, you're gonna get out, you're gonna get fresh air, you're gonna begin to move your body. And what happens then is it allows us to enter into this stillness. Try it. Try it today if you don't believe me. Even if it's a 10-minute break from work and you leave your cubicle or whatever it is that you do to make a living at your job, uh, just overbroke, right? Um, just take 10-15 minutes outside and notice what happens. First, you might be walking rapidly because your mind is going, right? But then the longer you walk, you will realize that you have slowed your pace, and now your mind is also keeping pace with your body, it has slowed down. So this is where doing this on the daily begins to get your body, mind, and soul attuned to what happens. Okay, when I step out the door, I have all this overwhelm, all this stuff shooting around in my head. So I'm gonna get on it, I'm gonna walk fast. And then I know that after I get all of that out, my mind starts to slow. And then what happens after several weeks of doing this on the daily, just stepping outside, even for 10 minutes, you will crave more of it, you will carve out more time to do it, and everything inside you will begin to recognize that process. Fast, medium, slow, stop. We want to train ourselves to get to that stop part. The stop part is being. That's where everything comes to a halt, and we're just sitting, maybe up against a tree or on a park bench. Our minds have finally stopped, and maybe all we're focusing on is our breath. This is the biggest tool for this ascension process, is learning how to slow the roll, and nature is absolutely the best, most tremendous way to learn how to do that. So if you've never been on a nature walk, if you've if you've you know, if you've convinced yourself that you don't like outside, you're you don't like the bugs or the weather or whatever, I highly suggest that you just give yourself the gift of seven days in a row of going outside at some point. Some people like to do it first thing in the morning. My husband and I, um, well, dogs, dogs will help you with that. If you have dogs that need to be walked, especially if you live in the city, it's a perfect opportunity because it's a have to. Those dogs have to use the restroom. So you have to get up and you have to get them outside. My husband and I love our first task of the morning, which is walking the dogs. Sometimes we do it together, sometimes we do it solo, but some folks like to do that nature thing first thing in the morning. Some people will do it on their lunch break. They look forward to that midday break because what does it do? It also rejuvenates and re-enlivens and gives you um uh a second, you know, it's like the fifth of wind coming in, right? You get out there and suddenly uh that new air and that movement gives you a whole new dose of energy. So give yourself seven days and just try it and document it and see for yourself if nature makes a difference on your ascension journey. Okay, the second connection is with ourselves. And first learning how to be quiet and learning how to sit with yourself, that is a biggie as well. Why is self-conscious uh uh consciousness now, and I'm not talking like self-conscious, like uh you're worried about what other people are thinking about you. No, I'm talking about being conscious with who you are. In other words, connecting with your true self, your higher self, right? Connection begins with us. Learning to connect with your true self allows us to open up to connecting with others, right? And so what was the uh old adage, and um I think it was Shakespeare that said, To thine own self be true. And that is the truth. You have to it before you know where you want to go on this ascension journey. Now everybody says, Oh, I just want to go to a more positive place, I want to go to where the the the vibrations are higher, and I wanna I want to go to a higher plane. Well, you can't go anywhere, Humanityville, unless you know where you are. And where you are is sitting with a version of yourself that isn't completely true because we have been so unconscious for so long that we don't even really know who our true self is. So the first order of this ascension journey is discovering who we are, and that means peeling back the onion of unconsciousness and becoming self-aware. Being in nature helps open up the door to self-awareness, and it's really truly a two-fold process because you see, only through our connectedness to others can we really know and enhance ourselves, but it's working on ourself that begins to enhance our connectingness with others, so it's a two-fold process, and those two doors begin to open up on a regular basis as we connect with Mother Nature. So, why would we want to connect with our inner self? Well, it's because as Angie Kay so perfectly quoted, she said, connect with your inner self, for a beautiful sanctuary exists within you, a place of total calm, a connection to stillness, a temple of sacredness, peace, beauty, and love. Once you are truly at this infinite inner place, your true home, you will be at home anywhere at any time with anyone, a place where infinite possibility exists. You know why it's so beautiful to connect with your inner self and go to this. It it almost seems like um uh oh, what would what it would be what would it be called? Um like a nirvana, um, you know, like almost a an inconceivable place that everybody wants to go to, but it's already there. It's already inside of us. How is how could that be? How could it be inside of us? Well, because that is the place we originated from. We originated from the spark of our Creator God, who is pure energy, pure light, pure love. And when we were with him in the beginning, we knew that unconditional love, we knew that bliss, we knew that sanctuary, we knew that sacred stillness and peace and beauty and love. And that is why connecting back with our inner self is so incredibly important. Because when we can go to that place of peace, which is already in us, then no matter what happens, we can retreat there. We can be in the middle of a physical storm, an emotional storm, we can be going through the worst absolute scenario in our life, but inside we are completely at peace. Now, wouldn't that be a tool that we would all like to connect with? This is why self-consciousness is incredibly important and is literally before Christ consciousness. We cannot discover the Christ within us, the God within us, until we discover that spark, that piece of him. And the reason we have to connect with him and her first is because she or he is within us waiting to be uncovered, waiting for us to discover and find him or her again. Our higher self has just simply been hijacked by the matrix, by our traumas, by our false beliefs, and we are in charge. We accept what the full respond with our abilities. How do our abilities get better on learning how to connect with ourselves? They get better by learning how to connect with nature. We begin to have the trees speak to us, we begin to um recognize that our inside, our internal workings, remember we are mostly water. So when we begin to connect the dots, that the seasons, that the um the twenty four-hour clock, that the tides, that the moon, that the sun, all of it affects us. And when we start to flow with the way nature flows, because we are part of nature, then it becomes easier and easier to hear the voice of not only God, but prior to God, we start hearing our higher self in inside this physical body, this avatar uh that we have created to house this incredible pure light that we are, and we begin to peel ourselves back and come home to this sanctuary that we just discussed. And then we can go a little further and connect with God. So, first try nature, because nature opens the door to discovering yourself. And it it really helps the blows because there are so many blows on this waking journey. Oh my gosh, I was lied to about my health, and you are devastated by thinking that all these medications that you thought were helping you are actually making things worse, and you take this information to nature, and what does nature do? It's like a filter, it takes the sting out of every difficult aspect of this awakening journey. Trust me, it is true. I I am so grateful that ever since I can remember, I loved to be outdoors. I and this is really something innately within us that I think that there's a very small majority of people that do not feel a pull towards being outside. It it's to me that is a rarity, right? So I, through my own sixty-four years of experience, can attest and testify that nature is a free healer. What is nature? It's our pharmacy, it's our playground, and it is our best tool for healing and self-discovery. Okay? So now we have nature and we have discovering ourselves. We we must know where we are. Um and and first it's we're a mess. We have all these false beliefs, we have all these matrix programs. Okay, all right, great. That is a step. Even if it it is perceived to be a negative step, you now know that, all right, I have these programs, and what I'm gonna do now is one by one, I'm gonna address these programs. And one of the ways I'm gonna do this is I'm gonna go out into Mother Nature, and maybe you have a question about one of those programs. And you before you step out into nature on your daily um walk or however you're gonna connect with nature, you might ask a question, why do I get so triggered by XYZ? And then you say, Um, Mother Nature, can you speak to me about this issue? And then you walk out with the intention that your heart and your mind is open for instruction, and then allow the wind and the trees and the way your dogs are walking, or uh the listening of your own footsteps, because what will happen if you open yourself up for it is you will begin to have intel dropped inside yourself, in your mind, your emotions, your spirit, even your physical body. But you have to go there and you have to be open for it. The last connection, which is to me the absolute most important, is our connection with God. Now, let me just make sure I have gone through all that I wanted to share about nature and ourselves. Um, well, I want to close on the nature part by saying if we embrace the healing power of nature to replenish body, mind, and spirit, because nature is the greatest place to heal and charge. That is so true. The things that I want us to remember about connecting with ourselves is that connection to anything begins with us. So if we want longevity and health, then we need to learn how to start connecting, right? Now, in a world of constant connection, which is where I opened, that we are connected to the internet, connected to our phones, we're connected to Zoom calls, we're connected with our jobs, we, you know, there's all these connections we feel like we cannot live without. But in a world that is constantly connected, we must learn to disconnect in order to restore the very most important connection, and that is our relationship with God, our Creator. How do we do that? Well, our wireless connection with God is prayer. And what is prayer? Prayer is just simply conversating with God, talking to God like I am talking to you. I, you know, there are those in the religious community that might frown upon the fact that sometimes I just say, hey dude, I really, really need you right now. Jesus, my brother, can you just come and sit in the car with me right now? Can you hold my hand? And if you open yourself up to that, I am to the place that when I ask for that and then just sit quiet for a minute, I will feel love just pour over my body. And sometimes I will feel heat in my hand, as if he grabbed my hand and is squeezing it in order to say, you know what, Theresa Marie, I heard you and I'm here with you. Prayer is our wireless connection with God. And what is so beautiful about it is that nobody can come between you and God. We have a direct line with immediate speed of light connection. It's unlimited forever. And no matter where we are or what we're doing, we don't need a dime, we don't need a little machine, we don't need the cell phone. We have a direct connection right through our spine, right into the heart of God. And what does what does that do? You know, we uh in talking about connections, you might have a connection to nature, you might have an emotional connection to another person or an intellectual connection with um a mentor or a guru. You might even have a strong physical connection with somebody via sex, but without God, all of those connections just they just don't cut it. They just aren't enough. Many of us, most of us have probably heard of that God-shaped box that we have in our in our hearts, and dare I say, our minds, our souls, our spirit. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, can fill that spot except the recognition, acknowledgement, and welcoming of God in our life. He is always right there. God, our father and our divine mother, they're always right there. They're within us, but they are gentlemen. God is a gentleman and he has given us free will. So that means he's not gonna say, Hey, hey, I'm over here. Come on, come on, come over this way. No, no. We have to make the free choice, we have to have the free will recognition that you know, if you look up at the stars and you you recognize that you are just a speck in one little planet called Earth, in an infinite universe. And if you for a moment are arrogant enough to think that the earth is it and that you are the bomb, well, you have a pretty arrogant um way of perceiving things, because we are just like a speck in the big spectrum of the entire universe that we are one with. But it is a physical, mental, emotional, soul-felt choice because our creator God did not make us robots. We are not AI beings, we are the only creation that has the free will choice, because God doesn't want people to come to him because he said so. No, just like in any personal relationship that we have with a spouse, for example, we don't want to be needed, we want to be wanted, and that's what God wants. He wants us to choose him, not because we have to, because we want to. And when we recognize that nobody can come between us, and we connect through prayer, and all sorts of things surface. In fact, he'll begin to connect us with those who inspire us. There are no kowinky dinks in life, and for years God will do these things before we even recognized it was God. We'd say, Wow, you know, I was just thinking about Johnny, and all of a sudden Johnny called me. Well, at first we think it's a koinky dink. But then when we finally, finally connect with our Creator God via our divine mother, our our mother earth, our nature, nature who connects us back to God, right? Once we realize that, then we realize there are no koinky dinks, that God had always been talking to us. We just were not awake enough to recognize it. And what does he do? He connects us with people who inspire us. Maybe you frowned free to just be this podcast randomly. Like the time I came out of a church service and was getting ready to go home, and he was like, No, we're gonna go on a date. Just get in your car, start the car up, and let's drive. And I I was directed to turn the radio on. I turned on Spotify, and just randomly this song began to play. And it was God speaking to me through a specific group that I had never heard before. And you can say that this was a random happening if you want, but this song was slow down and just learn how to be with me. Take the long way home. It was how I got introduced to L Y L D Lady, the beautiful duo of beautiful women with incredible harmonies. And that was God speaking to me. Slow down and learn how to be with me. This these are the ways God speaks to us. And when you finally open yourself up to recognizing that he wants to speak to you, then not only will he send people to inspire you, like maybe Theresa Marie with the podcast Free to Just Be got dropped into your hopper today because it's maybe what you needed today. And then he connects us to those that we can inspire to greatness. Hopefully, I'm giving value in your life and inspiring you to greatness, and we become this beautiful, um, fully working figure eight. You inspire me, I inspire you because we are all one. It's an incredible way to live. So now we have a connection with nature. We have learned to connect with ourselves, and now we're opening up the door to full-on God consciousness, to begin to think like Him, to begin to get those lessons direct from Him. It is incredible. Our connection with God also brings up our passions. And your passion is literally your connection to God. He will show you why you're here. The things that you're passionate about, he will begin to start floating to the top of your remembrance, and then you can step right into your purpose. So we have gone through three aspects of connection that are so incredibly important. Our connection with nature, our connection with our first, it begin it begins, our self-connection. We recognize that we have a lower self, and that deep under all the programmings is our higher self. And then we learn to connect with God. It's an incredible journey that we're on, this ascension journey, this awakening journey. And the most important connection we can have is our relationship with God, everything else. And then once you've got all three of these connections working, you will recognize like I did, that Matthew 633 is the way to accelerate our ascension journeying. What is Matthew 633ing? Well, Matthew 6.33 in the Bible says to seek him who's the Him God. Seek Him first, and all the rest will follow. And then you begin to live your life like that. You begin your day by connecting with God, by going out to nature, by checking in with your higher self, your highest self, and you begin to see this yellow brick road that opens before you. And you begin to recognize that no matter what happens, nothing can become between you and God, and that you have a direct line that is light speed right to your creator, and it's limited and forever. And you recognize that this ascension journey is quite an incredible journey that we are on, and that when we're connected to nature and connected with God and discover our own soul, we have the absolute best energy backing us up for life and deepening our connections with each other. So, dear ones, connect today. Connect with nature, connect with God, connect with yourself, and connect with others, and there you will find peace.
