If perfect peace felt out of reach last year, consider a different first move for 2026: consecration. We open the year by asking what changes when we hand God not just our resolutions, but the management of our moments—our calendars, cravings, and daily choices.
Together we unpack a clear definition of consecration—wholehearted surrender that makes us fully available to God’s will—and why it’s more than a church word. It’s a practical antidote to distraction, the matrix of noise that scatters attention and drains energy. We explore how a morning rhythm of prayer, breath, and reading can settle the nervous system and sharpen discernment, so decisions come from alignment instead of anxiety.
If this sparks something in you, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs calm in the chaos, and leave a quick review to help others find the show. Then tell us: what will you surrender first to make room for peace?
Opening Quote And Theme
SPEAKER_00It is not the nature of the task, but it's consecration that is the vital thing. And with a complete consecration, says Watchman Ni, comes perfect peace. So on day two of this brand new year of twenty twenty six, year one, the parties are over. Today true life begins again. So I think it's really vitally important to check out what this consecration thing is. For if complete perfect peace comes with it, it's time for us to unwrap that gift. And I welcome you back this morning into 2026 to Free to Just Be. I'm so happy that you're here today. For Free to Just Be is the podcast where humanity learns to come back home to God, to nature, to flowing movement, and to each other. And I'm your host, Teresa Marie, an ambassador of Qi, guiding you into an embodied awakening through breath, presence, and the simple truths of our soul. On this podcast, we unplug from the matrix of conditioning and reconnect with the frequencies of who we were created to be, whole, awake, authentic, deeply human, while still remaining deeply divine. So if your spirit has been whispering all through 2025 that there's more, there's got to be more, that you're meant for deeper peace, deeper truths, deeper purpose. You are not alone, Humanityville. You're waking up. So before we begin today's episode, I invite you to like, subscribe, and share this podcast. Because when one of us rises, we all rise. Welcome home to Free to Just Be. Let's rise together, shall we? Well, well, well. I am so excited to be here today. And those of you that have been following me for the three years that I've been on the air know that I am a quote person and a definition person. And uh I really want to share about consecration today. That's a big ass word, isn't it? And I think it's really a fitting day to unpack that word and that definition. And this all came to me. This download came to me this morning as I got up and came into my new office space. Um, I'm about 80% through uh converting uh a room that was kind of a storage room into an office slash guest room. And uh I'm so excited to be in this space. I've set it up with the Feng Shui um guidelines, and I am in this power place in the room, and it feels so good. And uh for the last two or three days I've been thinking about my spiritual practice of doing um what I call devotions in the morning, and that's where I I read some spiritual material and uh journal, I do my moving meditations, and I set the stage for my day. Well, I've been kind of a little bit concerned because I have not picked my books for this year. Um and every year I, you know, like I've been doing 365 um DAO. Uh it's been a really good read, and I I've really enjoyed it. And um it's it's a daily book, and then I read a little from the word. Anyway, I hadn't found my quote-unquote new material. And this morning I came into my office, and there it was. The book just kind of like a Rhema, and a Rhema is like a word or an incident or something that happens that feels lit up. You know what I'm saying? Where it's like uh being in a library and a book from overhead falls and hits you in the head and opens to a page. That's that's kind of a rhema, right? And you're like, wow, that's just what I needed to read. Well, that is kind of how I felt about this book. And it's interesting, it's it's actually a Catholic book, and I can find absolutely no author to it. And um in my travels over the last several years, and I've shared numerous times that I've gone to many different quote-unquote religious places of worship, and um in my travels in one of the Catholic churches that I've been in in the last three years, I picked up this book. Uh they were giving it out, and and it's a brand new book. I you can tell that it had never even been opened, and I think it's because it was supposed to be open right now. And so, first I want to read to you about consecration. Let's let's just talk about that definition for a minute because you know we have, and I opened with um talking about this task. We have this task at hand, don't we? We have this year before us, this brand new canvas. It's blank, it's absolutely blank, and we can do whatever we want with it. We can create whatever we want with it, we can create um chaos, we can create beauty, we can create depth, we can create absolute peace. But here it is, the start. Do we have all of our tools? Do we have the right mindset? Is our spirit in the right place? Are our emotions calm? How about our nervous system? Are we still absolutely chewing on the same habits and struggles from 2025? Or have we cut all those cords and become ready to face this new challenge? Because the nature of this task is gonna be a wild ride. We are now on that wild fire stallion and we are galloping, right? So buckle up, buttercups, because this is gonna be a daunting, exciting year, and the way that we approach it is gonna be extremely important. So I thought it was really interesting that you know, over the last uh six weeks or so, as I have looked back at all the lessons that I talked about yesterday, and now here we are, we're walking into our future, we're walking into this brand new canvas. I opened this book, and and you know, all of us, we're hopeful, we're we're happy that 25 is over, and here we are. We're we're getting ready to step into a new boat, step into a new roller coaster, right? And we all have these aspirations and this way that we envision that it's gonna be. And I open this book, and the very first words are, I have a dream. So immediately I'm like, oh, what is this about? And it says that these are among the most quoted words in the English language outside the Bible. And of course, we know that they're the words of Martin Luther King Jr. But if he had stood on those steps back in 63 and said, I have a plan, that speech would have kind of fallen flat, right? Because we all love the fact that dreaming is uniquely human and an extraordinary gift given to us by God. We can literally image in, you can hear my my Malamute's footsteps walking into the office. Um we have the unique ability to image in the things that we want. And we're all starting out with this dream, with this vision, what we're imaging in for our new year, right? So let's talk about consecration. What is consecration? Not anything like a concentration. This is consecration, right? It is to devote yourself to God and make yourself one hundred percent available to carry out his will on this earth. It's an act of unconditional surrender to God. And through this act of consecration, we dedicate ourselves abundantly, wholeheartedly, and completely to his will. Now here's the biggie. Surrendering our distractions. Do we have distractions, Humanityville? Are you listening to my voice on your phone? Do you have earbuds in your ear? Are you driving? Are you cooking while you're listening? Uh do you feel like the squirrel sometimes? You're doing a task and all of a sudden something else takes your attention in this direction and then in that direction. And some of us laugh and say, you know, we're blaming it on our ADD, right? But we have distractions and selfishness. So we're surrendering those distractions and selfishness, and we're promising to faithfully respond to God's grace in our lives. Now imagine, what would that do? Now think about it. If he is the creator and the author of everything on this planet, of every universe, and of us who are fearfully and wonderfully made, wouldn't it behoove us to actually go to that creator and get all the details of our life from him? Wouldn't that be a new? Now think about it, we're in a new year. Maybe you have never done that. Maybe you have never even thought about Matthew 6.33. What is that? Matthew 6.33 teaches that we seek him first, like I do in the morning. My spiritual practice is to start the day with God, my creator. If you seek him first, then everything else in the day falls into place. Now, of course, that's Teresa Marie's um rendition, but that is pretty much in a nutshell with what Matthew 633 is. So, why is that, excuse me, such a vital thing? Because we have an enemy of our souls. We have this matrix, this construct created by the darkness to control, destroy, deplete, rob our energy, turn us into everything we do not want. That is the enemy that we face every single moment of every single day, and it is going to be on steroids in 2026. So maybe it's a little bit vital for us to think about coming first to him, to surrendering our will and our way. And it is just amazing to me how things, if we actually keep ourselves in that place, in that canoe, even though it looks like we're heading to the rapids, instead of constantly getting out of the canoe and trying to move the rocks and trying to recreate the path, wouldn't it be better to just sit in the in the canoe or the kayak and allow God to move us around those rocks? He put the rocks there and we're trying to change everything up, right? And it's just a beautiful thing. The very fact that I found this book is proof. He knew what I needed. He knew I was looking for a new 2026 way to be guided in the morning, and here it is. Consecration. So rapidly, because I have to get ready for work, we are now approaching this new year. What does consecration mean? Well, Moses was told to tell the people to consecrate themselves before the Lord. Why? So he may bestow blessings upon them. In the book of Chronicles, he told Solomon to lead, right? He chose Solomon to lead, and David gave everything he had over to God and the people of Israel. And then he asked the people, who else is ready to do this? To generously consecrate them, give themselves to the Lord this day. And then in Joshua, God's chosen people entered the promised land after wandering in the desert for 40 years. I don't know about you, but aren't we all tired of wandering around in this freaking matrix? Aren't we ready to really live a life of peace? Perfect peace? Watchman knee said, with complete consecration comes perfect peace. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the wandering, right? So Joshua asked the people to consecrate themselves to the Lord, because the very next day he was going to do wonders among them. And of course the wonders were that the people marched around the city, right? Silent. And then at the designated time, they all shouted, and the walls came tumbling down. If we want the walls to tumble down, if we want our marching orders, if we want to know what it feels like to have God having our back, to dream and have those images manifest in our lives in 2026, then the nature of the tasks of twenty twenty six need to be begun with consecration. That is the most vital thing for us to do. We have to remember that we are always connected to God and that that is the most important thing going forward, that we keep that connection clear and free of distractions. Now I know that there are people that have come onto this podcast and want to hear about the woo-woo, new age, energetics, and they're all there. But I don't care if you don't like it or not, because the truth is the truth is the truth, and the truth is we all need God. And that is how we need to start 2026. So in closing, I have a dream that the whole world would literally be turned back to God. One person at a time, one marriage at a time, one family at a time, one neighborhood at a time, one church at a time, one country at a time. That's my dream. Who's going to join me in this dream? And together we could absolutely change not only our lives, but the world. Because you see, truly surrendering and giving total consecration to God simplifies our life. Why? Because it leaves the management of our lives up to us. Oh hell no. I know what I can do. And it's it's wrecked with a lot of mistakes. I'm tired of the mistakes. When we truly consecrate our days, our moments to God, he simplifies everything. He shows you the books to read. He helps you know what direction to go in. He'll help you know what to wear, what to eat, everything. He literally simplifies our life because it leaves the management of it up to him. Who are you going to trust this year? Are you going to trust yourself? Are you going to trust the matrix? Are you gonna base your 2026 on your past, on that identity, or are you gonna launch into the future with Christ, with God at the helm? For me, I'm riding shotgun. God's got the wheel, and my ego is in the back seat. Today it's Friday. I hope you have a fantastical Friday, and as always, I wish you great health, vibrant energy, and of course, peace.
