The blue glow keeps whispering the same lie: you’re almost enough—after one more serum, supplement, or procedure. I push back on that script and unpack how wellness marketing turns insecurity into a business model, from filters that reset our sense of “normal” to AI-fueled scams that borrow authority to sell quick fixes. Along the way, I tell real stories about harm dressed up as self-care, from acrylic damage masked as pampering to dyes and peels that create problems they later promise to solve.
If you’ve felt the churn of not-enoughness after scrolling, this conversation offers clarity and a reset. Step off the merry-go-round, reclaim presence, and choose care that honors your whole life, not just your image. If this resonates, subscribe, share with a friend who needs it, and leave a review to help others find the show. As always I pray you are full of great health and vibrant energy, with a huge dose of PEACE!

SPEAKER_00:

We believe in glamour, and we favor a little vanity. We don't rely, after all, on just our genes. We commit to looking good not only for ourselves, but looking good to others, says today's scrolling scrolling, scrolling world. Vanity of vanities all is vanity and there is nothing new under the sun, said King Solomon three thousand years ago. And I welcome us all, all of us mirror mirror people back to Free to Just Be. And I am Teresa Marie, an ambassador of Qi here to help humanity reconnect with God, nature, movement, and each other. So if you're ready to step off the Matrix Merry Ground and back into your true self, you are in the right place. Why don't you join us on the rolly coaster of real life? And before we start today's episode, please take a moment to smash the like button and share this with somebody that needs to hear the awakening message. And let's use algorithms to humanity's advantage instead of to the controllers, shall we? Let's begin. Today we're gonna delve into yet another aspect of scrolling the blue is killing the real you. And we're gonna talk about the health and beauty aspect of what is what is actually occurring on the internet. You know, they tell us that we're doing certain things for our health, for our beauty. It's you know, it's all about self-care. But somewhere along the way, caring for ourselves begins to feel like a full-time job that we're we're never doing well at. We're always failing, right? Because especially women, it's mostly women. I I I think men um kind of it's it's it's not as prevalent with with males, but if we scroll along enough, suddenly our skin is wrong. Our bodies are too fat or too tall or just behind the eight ball, our hormones are broken, our guts are inflamed, our faces definitely need fixing, and your aging really needs to be corrected. And here is the actual quiet truth that none of us want to say out loud, humanity. If we were truly well, they wouldn't need to keep selling us wellness. Think about that. I want you to think about that. They're not selling healing. What they're selling is hope on a subscription plan, and their hope is that you're never going to be satisfied, that you're always going to need yet another one of their products. Because every serum promises confidence, every supplement promises balance, and every, oh, this is the one that really gets me, every quote unquote clean, organic label promises safety. And yeah, what what actually is happening to us, humanity? We, as I explained yesterday, and maybe my anxiety was because I didn't have my phone all day yesterday. That could very well be. Because we do feel more anxious, more disconnected, and more dependent than ever. And the thing is, we're not asking ourselves some very important questions. Like, why does self-care feel so loud and so prevalent? It's everywhere. You know, you it pick a health topic. It's everywhere, and it's pushed down our throat with every ad that we can avoid. Um, you know, they pop up and you know, it annoys the crap out of us. And, you know, take YouTube, for example. You have to wait until that skip counts down that 15 seconds because they know that in that 15 seconds they can catch you. Because it's all about catching you and catching your wallet, because they hope that you're gonna follow their subscription plan, and their plan is twofold. Get as much of your money, all of it if they could, and and some people do. Think about the scams, think about literally what AI is able to do now. They can take a site, a legitimate site. Um, let me use a good example from the holiday season. There is a couple who spent three years designing their Advent calendar. Uh, maybe you have seen it. I'm sure you have because it was everywhere in October, November, and December. And it was this beautiful wooden advent calendar with little carved uh characters about the nativity scene, right? Three years in the making, and they put it out, and they're selling it for what it was worth, a couple hundred dollars, right? And somebody took everything, their ads, their video, all of it, swiped it, and began placing ads that, oh yes, Theresa Marie fell for. Oh my gosh, my granddaughter will love this for$37. Do you think I recognized it was a scam? No, I did not until about eight hours later when I had to close my debit card. Oh yes, I will admit the truth to you. I will confess up because it happens all the time. There are now AI versions of doctors and collegiates and and experts that are gonna tell you that this supplement is the cat's meow and everybody needs it because if you don't take it, this part of your body is not gonna function correctly. This is happening over and over again on the internet. But the thing is, we are allowing ourselves to get to get sucked into it, you know. Um self-care doesn't need to be that loud. Why? Because our body speaks to us in whispers, and that is the point of the scrolling. The blue glow keeps us from that still small voice of our body, and certainly keeps us from the still small voice of God. And what does scrolling end up doing? It makes us feel broken, and we were never the problem. So let's talk about this deception a little bit more. You know, um today we're gonna talk about pretty poison when beauty becomes the controller, because what the controllers of the internet are doing are monetizing insecurity, they are targeting humanity's insecurities and calling it self-care. Some of the key ideas, think about it. Skin care that damages, okay? Now, there are women, there are you know, they're gonna they're gonna be so triggered by this show. In fact, they're gonna right about now is probably where they're gonna say, F you and and turn this show off. Excuse me. Because that is exactly what they do. If you don't wake up and understand that if you cannot read the ingredients on a label, it's probably not good to put in your body. And what is the biggest organ on our body, Humanityville? It's our skin. It's our skin. How many years did your host Theresa Marie, an ambassador of Qi, put, oh, here comes the triggers, okay? Just get ready, prepare yourself because you're gonna be like, what? Wait, yeah, get get out of here. How many years did I put chemicals straight into my brain as I dyed my hair over and over and over again? And not even be concerned when the back of my neck would get red or irritated, you know, my body signaling me, uh, this is this is not good stuff, okay? This is this is making us react and want to protect you. Oh no, no, no. But what do they offer then? They damage, we will just go with that avenue. They damage your hair, and then they offer you products that help repair your hair. Doesn't that seem like a really good business model? We'll create the problem, and then we will fix the problem over and over and over again. What do filters on social media do? It gives people a dysmorphia. Well, I don't look like that. Everybody is supposed to look that beautiful, and then we go and have procedures done. And uh, you know, it is it is amazing because vanity is a cousin to pride, and vanity is talkative. Oh, I got this done, and I'm this is the foundation I use, and I go here because you know, this person does the best job on my skin or my hair or my nails. I I just want to remind you of the episode I did when I, you know, I thought I was gonna go and give myself a gift of self-care. And I went to have my nails done because I was getting getting ready to do a presentation and I wanted my nails to look nice, right? Why? I mean, my nails were just fine the way they were. And I went and I had no idea that a French dip meant that I was going to get acrylic nails. And I'm here to tell you that it took my nails three months, three months, to fully repair from the damage that that acrylics, um, little acrylic episode. Oh, my nails look good for about 10 days. And I was like, wow, this is awesome. And then the peelage started, and then the destruction of my nail bed. It it was it was horrible. And I can't even imagine people that do this every six weeks. I I I it just it doesn't compute with me. But that is how we are trained. Do we understand yet that we are being controlled and told what to do, how to act, what to buy? What about the obsession about youth? You don't want to get old, you don't want wrinkles to show. Why? We've lived life. Gray hairs are quote unquote a sign of wisdom. Why are we so afraid of the beautiful dance of life? Beautiful baby skin, and in the end, every wrinkle in time tells a story about us. But we are conditioned that we must remain the same, and therefore we must take this retinol or put this serum on or pay thousands of dollars to have procedures done? When did aging become something to hide? When social media told us that it was something to hide. Stop and think for yourself for a minute, humanityville. Who exactly benefits when we feel like we are not enough? We're not good enough, don't look enough, or look good enough, uh, we're not the right weight. Who benefits? Every brand that's out there trying to get your dollar benefits. Our body isn't broken. It's just been interrupted. Our own life cycles are interrupted. It's it's a crazy world we live in. And vanity, unfortunately, has become truly the motive and the power that moves humanity these days. And it's literally flattery that greases the wheels. Think about it. Oh, I'm gonna show before and after pictures. Look at how I look before I use this product or before I did this natural remedy, and now look at me, look at me, look at me, look at me. Complete vanity and pride. It's an upside down world that we live in. And this is what we need to open our eyes and our hearts and take a serious look at. Bertrand Russell said, power, like vanity, is insatiable. And nothing short of omnipotence can satisfy it completely. What is omnipotence? That is our creator God, omnipresent and omnipotent, knows every knows everything, excuse me. And uh it's the truth. We have these huge holes that people who are selling their products are banking on. They are banking that that God-shaped hole will be filled with their potion, their remedy, their poison, their chemical peel. And it is a tragedy what this is doing, especially to our young girls. Now we see girls wanting to put makeup on and dye their hair before they're ten. What are we telling our young girls that they are not good enough without all this stuff? It is literally, in my view, a crime against humanity. What is happening? And uh this one I could i it could just go on and on and on. But I have to go to work. So I want you to think about how this particular quote is so true about vanity being a cousin to pride, and that vanity is talkative. That is what the blue glow, the scrolling does. It's constantly telling us, telling us, telling us over and over and over again, you are not enough, you are not enough, you are not enough, you're not pretty enough, you don't weigh the right weight, you have marks on your face that need to be removed. Vanity is constantly buzzing. Never stops. Pride is silent. Pride is when you don't tell anybody that you're gonna use this product, and you're just gonna silently post that picture, and then you're gonna wait. You're gonna wait for that like, you're gonna wait for that heart emoji, you're gonna wait for people to say, oh, you're so beautiful, because we do not believe we are beautiful without people saying, Oh, beautiful as usual, beautiful inside and out. But what does that do? When vanity and pride get together, they make monstrosities. We have all seen them, and we're like, well, that'll never happen to us. The women whose lips are so swelled that they look like monsters. The the women, and yes, some men, but mostly women that have done so much plastic surgery to their bodies that they look like disfigured clowns when they get in their 60s. It's tragic, but they don't care. Machine is gonna keep pumping it out as long as we don't begin to recognize. Just like King Solomon said, Diffin era, same thing. You know, even even the fact of natural products, now that's more along my lines. Queen Esther probably used castor oil. It comes from the earth, there's no chemicals, and yet it does beautiful things for your skin. There are a slew of natural things that we can do for our bodies. And unfortunately, even that now has become, I mentioned the organic, the pure, the clean. This is one of the biggest hijacks today. Let me um now I'm gonna I'm gonna dip into the food thing, but um, and that's yet another show. Um the deceptions are very, very deep. If you are just reading at face value that something is organic or something is good for you, you best look at the hidden words on the label. Because the products being touted as the most natural and good for your body are oftentimes the worst chemically laden items that they disguise. Remember, marketers are Decepticons. They don't care what it does to your body, they care about the money in their pockets. Please begin to understand this. I know it's a kind of a weird spot to leave this episode, but I do need to go get dressed and get ready for work. Coco Chanel, who made millions on chemically laden perfumes, did have a very significant quote. That's true. That beauty begins the moment you and I decide to be ourselves. And the last thing I want you to ponder as you look in the mirror, as I look in the mirror today, I've already got my castor oil on, I put it on first thing after I get out of the shower, all over my body. But I am gonna go in and I am going to take an eyebrow pencil and fill in a little bit of the gaps of my eyebrows, and I am gonna put mascara on. But when I look in that mirror, I'm gonna thank God this morning for right where I am in life, for every proposed flaw. Think about that. When we look in the mirror and see a flaw, what are we saying about our Creator? That He made junk? Hello. Our inner beauty never needs makeup. So humanityville, look beyond the blue glow today. Look beyond the scrolling and look inside and say to yourself, can I actually go outside without any makeup? Can I walk around in my house in front of my husband with no bra on? Some people literally can't do that. Some people will not even go to the corner store unless they have a full face of makeup on. That to me is tragic. Well, Humanityville, it's a Friday. Have a fantastical Friday, and I hope today I gave us something to think about. As we scroll today, maybe we can begin to start seeing advertisements for what they are, enticements, distractions, and a way to get into our wallet and our souls. But as always, I'm going to leave you my wish and prayer for all of us in Humanityville that today we all have the greatest health with the most vibrant energy. And of course, peace.
