Hello. Hola. Hello. Hello. Bonjour.
[different people saying greetings]

00:00:04

Hello and welcome to the inclusive
research with PIRL podcast. PIRL, P-I-R-L stands for Partnership for Inclusive
Research and learning. PIRL is a project funded by the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council of Canada and made possible by the hard work of
many people, some of whom are paid, and some are volunteers.

00:00:38

We bring together a network of
researchers and practitioners from the Global North and the Global South.
Together as a team of people with and without disability, we aim to foster
inclusive development research by emphasizing the value of inclusive and
accessible ways of carrying out research. We strive to have more researchers
with disabilities actively involved in international development programs and
research.

00:01:13

This podcast series will be
centered around research that is part of disability inclusive development. And
what we sometimes refer to as D-I-D research. Our podcasts are grounded in
scholarly work presented in ways that are accessible and informative.

00:01:33

Through one-on-one conversations,
panel discussions, and storytelling by members of the PIRL network, we are
sharing our experiences and research findings, including what we're learning,
and how we're learning together.

00:01:48

We have compiled exciting topics
for conversations, ranging from the use of information and communication
technologies, often referred to as ICT in disability inclusive development
research, to conducting research in resource limited contexts, to what it means
to be a researcher, and many more topics.

00:02:10
