Changing Birth with Hannah Willsmore

75. Preparing your Toddler for a New Sibling Part 1.

Hannah Willsmore Season 1 Episode 75

Are you expecting your second baby and wondering how to prepare your toddler? In this episode I bring on my beautiful friend Adele who is a prenatal yoga teacher and mum of four, to share how she supported her older children with the arrival of a new baby. Adele shares lots of tips and practical advice that I know will be so helpful if you are navigating this transition too.

In this episode we discuss:

  • What you can do in pregnancy to prepare your toddler for the arrival of their sibling.
  • Practical tools for getting them used to the idea of a new baby in their home.
  • Why you might like to consider having your older children at your birth and how Adele stumbled into this path (but now would highly recommend!)
  • How involving your children in birth and early postpartum can be a gift to your older children.
  • Co-sleeping safety info https://www.basisonline.org.uk/parents-bed/

This episode is brought to you by Coast Yoga. Coast Yoga is located in Glenelg, South Australia and offer combined prenatal yoga and birth education sessions.
