Authentic Ecstasy
Wild, deeply soft, and untameable are all ways we can begin to describe the deep feminine nature we all hold within us. Host Elisabeth Serra has been creating spaces for women and men to embody this deep nature, and bridge the disconnection between the material and the spiritual; so that we can once again experience the sacred union of embodied consciousness. Dive deep into the river of wisdom and begin your own journey of self expansion into the intimate freedom that you already are.

Welcome to Authentic Feminine Ecstasy podcast, a place where we explore our innate intimate freedom. And today I like to be exploring with you how we reclaim this mother within how we Earth ourselves again. So let us remember that as we are born, the first archetype we come in contact with is the mother. Now how this mother was able to birth us in the way that every woman that's not in disconnection, in some form of fear, will birth us, is wild raw and free. It's a woman's moment in which she gets ripped open by the force of the universe, and delivers life into the earth.
So what's happened since the scientific revolution and thinking about the burning of the witches, and all that time in which the science was beginning to evolve, and have a much more the Cartesian world or rational world began to take its place. What happened is the place of woman, the place of the midwife, the woman that knew about the plants, the medicines, to healing, the mystical, part of woman, which is very connected with the wild, was discarded or disregarded or discredited. And then women began to have to fit in into a different paradigm, which is something more disconnected from the rawness of our animal, of what is earthy and wild, and how do we see women from then on? Under strip lights, plastic gloves, with a man delivering the baby, a man who has no womb, and no experience of what that is, other than a scientific, rational understanding. And we begin to see that that woman enters the hospital, a place that we go when we are ill, a woman is taken away from her environment, from her lover, from the bed in which this life was conceived. And in some cases, and if we go back to my mother, how she talks about how she gave birth to me, was in an operating theatre, with strips under on her feet, so to restrain and contain her body movements, and to heighten a position where the doctor could have full view of what was happening, and didn't have to bend his back.
So that is how our mother of the last generations and thank god, this is changing now for many women. But we coming at the back of that mentality that women have to be taken into a place and remove their pain. And that's the next thing. We given epidurals and all sorts of medicine to alleviate the pain. To alleviate this pain, it's like taking away that bond that she's going to have that connection that comes from that process of feeling her body and letting it be the vehicle of surrender for life to come through. I'm just feeling right now. Can you imagine it's like making love with someone and just a moment of orgasm. Somebody gives you an epidural or something so that you don't feel the sensation of the whole process of being intertwined with somebody. That is what I felt when I gave birth to my firstborn in Japan.
It was very much a technical process. And after I delivered my firstborn, I remember tears rolling down my eyes and feeling. This can't be what nature intended for a woman to give birth to a child. And from that day on, that's been my journey to reclaim the archetype of mother and I took that baby out of that hospital as soon as I could, and I had the instinct to wrap him and walk bare feet on the earth. But without going any further into my story, I like to bring that image of how can we, and perhaps some of you, you're listening to this story, you have been born in similar ways, in artificial environments, with your father, not present. So how can we make peace with our birth with our archetypal mother, when our biological mother was not able to give us that raw, wild, ecstatic, you know, kind of like, gutty birth, full of sound full of blood full of pleasure, full of pain, and passing through that vulva, which is the first kind of orgasmic experience of sensation in your head.
So given the situation, here we are. This has been our history so far. And it is clear that our biological mother couldn't offer us what our animal body needed. So one thing I like to begin with, for me in the journey, and accompanying so many others on this journey of reclaiming your birthright to be Earthed has been making peace with our biological mother. And that's a complex journey that I'm not going to go deeply into it. But the presence of assistance of processes that makes us arrive to this forgiveness for that disconnection. And a lot of our rage and express rage or anger or disappointment with our mother, I feel it stems from that. She didn't prepare us, she didn't anchor us to walk on this earth.
So the first part of this earthing is making peace with our mother. And that's totally doable and totally possible. And that is a great piece. And it doesn't mean that you love your mother, you like your mother and every aspect of her. But it means that your biological mother is not an obstruction for you making peace with the Earth, with the archetypal, great mother, which is the one that you want to make peace with, so that you can feel once again, this intimacy with the Earth with a creepy crawlies, you can sit comfortably on the earth, you're not afraid of what we call the dirt, the earth, that you feel the vibration, the pulse. And for women. There's a dance that I do, which is a dance of redeeming our movement, and joining the movement with the universe, which I call Shiva Shakti. I invite them to visualise their womb. And imagine a red thread that pours down through their womb, through the vulva into the earth. And I encourage them to bleed on the earth. Because that's how it's almost like the earth gets again, your identity. And then there is a resonance.
So we don't release our secretions to the earth. Because we have all this sophisticated bathrooms and everything, and we live in the city and the sewage and the whole thing, I'm not saying we need to go back to pee on the earth, but I personally have, I mean, to be honest, I live in nature here and I have a big house with lots of bathrooms, it's a centre. And I often I go to pee on the earth. And that is something that happens. I mean, you know that that begins, you begin to close that distance. So another way in which we practically speaking beyond this forgiveness, and acceptance of your biological mother is to begin to take walks on the earth bare feet. It's been actually scientifically proven that if you walk bare feet on the earth, your immune system, your health, your energy, and a lot of the problems we have. Being city dwellers with shoes continuously and running around with our rubber wheels car, has taken a toll on our bodies and our stress level. In our anxiety is very high. So the earthing the bare feet, takes us again, to a place of organs and organism, which I was talking in my last episode, that sensation of being pulsing in the earth.
So forgiveness with a mother, bare feet, and the other thing, which might be really not appealing for a lot of us, it's to be in mud, to take your clothes off, and to find places that you can rub yourself with mud, all over your body, lying on the earth. All of these you can do alone, you can do with some friends, to create these spaces of rebonding, with her, with the Earth, with the big womb, and the impact of that, not just at your metabolism health level, but the emotional level. There is an anchor, there is like the vertical, the sort of energy of the Divine pulse, consciousness you are, whatever you want to name it, this energy, it's anchored into the earth, this vertical pole comes down, and it gives you a sense of alignment, of ground of presence. I know that for some of us, all of these may be a far fetched endeavour. But I want to invite you to be curious and try it out. Just walk barefoot on the earth. Just put your hands on the Earth every day for a week. I'd love to hear your experience of that.
Thank you for listening to this episode. And we're going to continue our inquiry into the elements, and on the next episode, we're going to go into the fire. That which burns, that which alchemises, that which transforms, how are we with our own fire.
