The Monk

I was a monk for 21 years, including three as a hermit in the Catskills. In that hidden life of prayer and solitude, my idea of Jesus gave way to a real encounter with His presence in ordinary life.

I later served as a missionary monk in London, where my monastic roots, the Church’s contemplative tradition, and prophetic worship converged and helped give birth to Mission1249.

In Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland, I watched signs and wonders, prophetic worship, and intercession move across old Catholic–Protestant lines. As we worshipped together, a shared identity as sons and daughters of God began to heal historic wounds.

Before leaving Ireland, my friendship with Marie Thérèse quietly became a sacred love story. We chose the long road of obedience and trust in God’s timing, and I received a letter from Pope Francis blessing this unfolding work.

Today I carry a life, a marriage, and a mission—Mission1249. All blessed by God.
