SPEAKER_01:

Welcome, welcome to the Buddy Foy Junior Show. Wow, folks, the spiritual warfare continues. The demonic world we're living in is on full display. And here we are again, just fighting the spiritual battle. And I had I'm in Florence, Italy. My wife and I have been in traveling Europe. We're in um France for a couple for about a week. We're now in Florence, and today we did a little tourism. We did a little museum tour. And I did not think I would have the spiritual day that I had. I've been on this journey. I'm trying to remain in the presence of God, which is almost impossible all day long, because we're all just just, I'm a wretched man. The world just grabs me in. And I've expressed my last podcast how affected I was by witnessing the marches in Barcelona, the young kids wearing or are carrying anti-Israel signs, Jewish hatred. And I've just never seen a people in my lifetime be um villainized and attacked based off of government policies, whether they agree or not agree. Let's just call it the Israel government, and just how people are going after Jews. And I didn't see Jews go after Palestinians because of the Hamas infiltration and complete brutal assassination on October 7th, of putting babies in ovens, beating women to death, filming it, and having it on full display. But when Israel responds as a government to this atrocity, the Jewish people throughout the world are villainized. And I'm just, I don't know what kind of world we live in. I've been meditating on it, witnessing the Barcelona, Spain protests of tens of thousands of people, young eight-year-olds marching with anti-Jew signs. It's just, you know, it's had an impact on me. I talked about in the last episode. And it really comes down to what I've been talking about with spiritual warfare. And uh when I bring up the scripture, I've been pounding Isaiah 5.20. Woe to those who call good evil and evil good. Actually, I got that backwards. I'm dyslexic. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put better for sweet and sweet for better. This, if I had to replay all this in your head, Israel gets attacked, they respond, Jews are bad. Meanwhile, the same people are standing up for Ukraine because they're attacked by Russia. No one's posting anyone dying in the war that continues between Russia and Ukraine, but they attack the Jews. And just through all my journey biblically and reading all of the books I've been reading that the pastors are giving me, it's just history repeats itself. God's chosen people are persecuted over and over and over again. And we're living in it. We're living in Old Testament times, we're living in a revealing of spiritual warfare. And spiritual warfare to me was something I learned when I dove into and read the Bible and started reading supplemental materials, where the heavenly realm and the evil realm, the light and the dark, are in full display all around us. And back thousands of years ago, you could see it. However, culturally, it's been so diluted out of our existence, and mainly because we probably become more demonic and demonic behaviors more normalized. We don't see this light and darkness at war on earth in a spiritual sense, in our very presence, in our very surroundings. But here we are, we are in the middle of the spiritual warfare. And today I was uh we're in we're in um Florence, Italy, and my day took a little bit more of a spiritual journey than I thought it would. And I've been struggling with what to talk about this week, and it hit me in the middle of an exhibit. Jen and I, my wife, went to the Gallery della Accademia, and on display were artists, sculptures, paintings, busts, and Michael D'Angelo being the famous artist that he was was the main exhibit. The statue of David in the center as you entered the room to the left, turn right, and a hundred yards away is this massive statue of David in its perfection and glory. And I never understood that Michelangelo in of his time understood spiritual warfare. And I wonder why they understood spiritual warfare back then. And today, my DMs, my messages, there's a lot of confusion around spiritual warfare and the fact that the spirits are at war amongst us. And seeing his creation of the prisoners, which are statues of these big marble displays, and they're prisoners, they're prisoners of their spiritual battle, they're not fully formed, they're not in a glorious um kind of man sculpture. They are almost busting out of a rock, some further through the busting through the marble than others. Some have a developed chest, developed arms, distorted faces, one has a beard, and it's the prisoners. And the point of the exhibit is uh based on the audio that we were listening to, is that Michelangelo sculpted these, and they may look unf they may look unfinished, unfinished, um, unfinished art. However, he considered them finished, because it's displaying our spiritual battle within all of us, and how we're just not there. Our our full being, our full godly potential is just not developed. And in the cases of the prisoners, some more than others, but none of them to the grand of the Statue of David. And I never looked at the Statue of David the way I did today, in context or in contrast to the prisoners. I knew the star, the Statue of David was just beautiful, a beautiful work of art of its time and the skill set of Michael Angelo. But today, seeing it with the prisoners in their spiritual breakthrough or trying to break through, and then boom, the glory of David. And it hit me in my interpretation of the statue of David in The Artist is that David was not that muscular being. The reality is that's far from the stature, which David was. And there's a write-up saying people argued whether that was before or after he slayed Goliath. I don't think I think that's irrelevant. I believe that the statue and Michelangelo's preception of David was one of a spiritual enlightenment. So if you look at the prisoners that aren't fully formed and are, you really can't make them out. One you can make out that he's got a beard, one you can make out that he's got a big chest, big arms, but none of them are a full figure as far as fully developed. But yet, here's David in full display with these large feet and these incredible details of the hands and the slingshot. And David just looks like a looks like a warrior. And the reality was he was not a warrior. That's why the Lord chose him. He was of humble heart. And I'm going to read you Samuel chapter 16 in a minute. But I believe Michelangelo understood spiritual warfare. He understood the spiritual battle we're in, where we are as um where we are in the our journey or in our ability or our potential. There it is, our potential spiritually. And we're all just like these half-sculpted figures versus David, who was a man after God's own heart. And the sculpture that Michelangelo creates shows this incredibly strong presence of a warrior. And that's what David's spirit was. And it's amazing that Michelangelo of his time understood spiritual battles. And he proves it in the statues of the prisoners and then David. This complete contrast of where we are spiritually in the battle of the realms, heavenly and the darkness, the evil. So let me read you Samuel chapter 16. The Lord said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul? Since I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with oil and be on your way. I am sending you to see Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be the king. But Saul said, How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me. The Lord said, Take a heifer with you and say, I come to sacrifice to the Lord. Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate. So Samuel did what the Lord said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town they trembled when they met him. Why? asked, Do you come in peace? Samuel replied, Yes, in peace. I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourself to come to the sacrifice with me. Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice. When he arrived, Samuel saw Aleb and thought, Surely the Lord anointed one stands here before me. But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejoiced rejected him. The Lord does not look at things that people look at. People look at the outerly appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Now let's get back to the statue of David and Michelangelo's creation and his gigantic muscular figure. This is what I'm referring to. That wasn't David. David wasn't this warrior. It's proof right here in Samuel 16. So what I'm trying to bring forth here is why did Michelangelo, centuries ago, understand spiritual warfare, and you fast forward to today, and there's this mass confusion or this ignorance or ignoring of the spiritual battles that are before us in our very realm on earth, the heavenly realm and the demonic realm, at war for our souls, our attention, and our bandwidth. Why did Michelangelo understand that when he was creating these sculptures of the prisoners that showed the lack of potential and then the full display of conquering the spiritual realm and being in the heavenly realm in a relationship in the presence of God through the Statue of David? Now let's get back. The Lord does not look at the things that people look at. People look at the outly appearance, but the God, but the but God, the Lord, looks at the heart. Then Jesse called Abinada and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, The Lord did not, the Lord has not chosen this one either. Jesse then had Shema pass by, but Samuel said, Nor has the Lord chosen this one. Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, The Lord does not choose these. So he asked Jesse, Are these all the sons you have? They're still the youngest, Jesse answered. He is tending the sheep. Samuel said, Send for him. He will not sit down until he arrives. Samuel said, Send for him. We will not sit down until he arrives. So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and a handsome feature. Then the Lord said, Rise and anoint him. This is the one. So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of the brothers. And from that day on, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Raham. Amazing. In my day today, I have no idea that I'd walk into the museum and see these prisoners, the sculptures called the prisoner prisoners, as we walk down in the center in between the prisoners, and to be unveiled the beauty of the statue of David. And there's your spiritual warfare. The demonic realm still had a grip on the prisoners. Whereas David, in his full glory and in the heart of God, well, he had a relationship with God, he was in the presence of God, and he was a fallen man. David slept with Bathsheba, sees this gorgeous woman on the roof. These are things that I've learned, okay, folks? I'm not preaching anything. I'm just sharing things that I've learned that have blown my mind. King David is sitting there on his roof, sees Bathsheba showering, and gets filled with lust. So this man has conquered the spiritual realms, as far as the sculpture of the statue of David and in all of its glory, sees a woman he's attracted to and eventually has her, gets her pregnant. It's his number one general and good friend's wife. He has to send the friend off to war to the front lines in order to not return. In other words, get killed in battle, put him in a dangerous position in order to hide the pregnancy of Bathsheba. And out of that comes King Solomon. Her son was King Solomon. So in this webblock or in this uh adultery, in this adultery relationship, adultery relationship comes King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived. I mean, the Bible is just filled with these curveballs, left, right, and center. And, you know, first you learn that Paul's a murderer, then he becomes the largest contributor to the New Testament and just on fire for Jesus Christ. Moses kills an Egyptian, flees, goes on Mount Sinai, runs into the Lord, blah, blah, blah, blah, comes back, frees the Jews, goes on a 40-year journey through the desert. And then King David, in the glory of God, a man after God's own heart, is somebody who slept with another man's wife, and then had that man killed. It's just so check this out. Samuel chapter 2, chapter 11. I'm sorry, 2 Samuel chapter 11. I'm gonna jump to verse 2. One evening, David got up from his bed and walked around the roof from the palace. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful. And David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, she is Bathsheba, the daughter of Helm, Elm, and wife of Ura, the Hiti. Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him and he slept with her. Now she was purifying herself from her monthly uncleanliness. Then she went back home. The woman conceived. The woman conceived and sent word to David saying, I am pregnant. So David sent this word to Job. Send Joab, send Uriah, who's Bathsheba's husband, the Haiti, and Job sent him to David. When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were, and how the war was going. Then David said to Uriah, Go down to your house and wash your feet. So Uriah left the palace and a gift for the king was sent after him. So uh let's see, Uriah left the palace and a gift from the king was sent after him. But Uriah slept at the entrance of the palace with all his master servants and did not go down to his house. David was told Uriah did not go home. So he asked Uriah, haven't you just come from a military campaign? Why didn't you go home? Uriah said, David, the Ark and Israel and Judah are staying in tents, and my commander, Joab, and my lord's men are camped in the open country. How could I go home to my house to eat and drink and make love to my wife? As surely as you live, I will not do such a thing. So David tried deceiving this soldier, Urah, to go home and sleep with Bathsheba to cover up David's transgressions. Then David said to him, Stay here one more day, and tomorrow I'll send you back. So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day and the next. At David's invitation, he ate and drank with him, and David made him drunk. But in the evening, Uriah went out to sleep on his mat among his master servants. He did not go home. In the morning, David wrote a letter to Job and sent it with Uriah. In it he wrote, put Uriah out in front where the fighting is fierced or fiercest. Then withdraw from him, so he will be struck down and die. So while Joab had the city under siege, he put Uriah at a place where he knew he would be strongest, where the strongest defenders were. When the men of the city came out and fought against Joab, some of the men in David's army fell. Moreover, Uriah, the Hittiti, died. The Hitti died. Joab sent David a full account of the battle. He instructed the messenger, When you have finished giving the king this account of the battle, the king's anger may flare up, and he may ask you, Why did you get this close to the city's fight? Don't you know they would didn't you know they would shoot arrows from the wall? Who killed Amalkin's son of drag of Jorub Beth? Didn't a woman drop an upper millstone on him from the wall so that he died in Thebes? So he's talking about some historical stuff of battles. Why did you get so close to the wall? If he asks this, then you say to him, Moreover, your servant Uriah, the Hitti is dead. So the point is, David set this whole thing up in order to cover a transgression. Yeah! David is made in the image of God. Let's look at Acts 13 22. 1322. After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him. I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want I want him to do. So biblically, the Lord saw David as a man after his own heart. Yet David got a woman pregnant, he committed adultery, had a person set up for murder purposefully to hide his transgressions and cover up a crime of adultery. Yet David was a man after God's own heart. The point is, we need to get back to the Bible. There's nothing that we've done, there's nothing that we can do to turn God away from us. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We were put on this earth for relationship with God, and we have got to stop apologizing for it. We got to get on this journey to get closer to our creator. Otherwise, invasions of Israel will look normal. Otherwise, women competing against men, competing against women and women's sports will become normalized. Otherwise, the demonic party will become mainstream once again, and God will be pushed into the corner of our homes. Folks, get out of the corner, get off the porch, get in a public square, own your faith, build your relationship with God in Jesus Christ through daily reading, praying over our food, praying for our children, going to church, being in community. I'm a sinner, I'm a wretched man, but the reality is reading the Bible and being around gospel music and people of our Christian music and people of the Bible has made me a better person, has put me on this journey, and our world needs it for all of us. Stop staying silent. They have diluted Christianity in our world. America was founded on godly principles. It doesn't make any sense for us to be here, to be a free nation as we are, without God's hand or America in the center of his palm. Stop apologizing. Encourage your kids, young men and women out there, biblical. Be biblical. Don't be embarrassed. Be biblical. Don't be perfect, because none of us are. I just took you through an account of David sleeping with a woman, having an adulterous relationship, creating a murder of her husband to cover up the pregnancy, blah, blah, blah, blah. We are an imperfect species. However, we have got to start having a relationship with our Creator, Jesus Christ, God, the Holy Spirit, the Trinity. We got to get back to those roots, and they need to happen now. Otherwise, what kind of world do we live in? And here's what I want to play you. I want to play you a song to end this podcast and reflect on it for the week.
