From Isaiah To Today: Why Repentance Still Saves Nations

A cultural shockwave overnight forced us to shelve a planned travel story and wrestle with a harder truth: when a nation sweeps God out of public life, it does not become neutral—it becomes vacant. And vacant houses don’t stay empty. Drawing from Isaiah’s piercing warnings and Jesus’ “empty house” teaching in Matthew 12, we trace how institutions without a rooted moral center get occupied by harsher spirits—call it culture if you want, but the fruit shows the source. The result is an upside-down moral map where bitter is sold as sweet and confusion masquerades as compassion.

We don’t chase labels or turn this into a religious blame game. Instead, we ask the only question that matters: is the spirit behind our laws, leaders, and daily choices heavenly or demonic? That simple test reframes politics, reframes outrage, and reframes our own hearts. After time in Turkey, watching unapologetic public devotion, we felt convicted about our habit of hiding faith. Private belief can’t steady public life. Presence matters. Witness matters. Community matters.

So here’s our practical path forward: seven actions that don’t require storming beaches, just steady courage. Repent. Accept Jesus. Go to church and be known. Read Scripture daily. Support kingdom builders who serve on the front lines. Live in community that corrects and carries. Worship out loud to retrain desire toward what is true and good. We believe this is how households regain peace, churches regain clarity, and cities regain light. If you’re tired of the cultural whiplash and ready for a braver, kinder, more anchored way, this conversation is your starting line.

Subscribe for future episodes, share this with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a review with the one action you’ll take this week. Let’s fill the house with the right Spirit.

SPEAKER_00:

Wow, folks, we got a lot to go over. I'm pivoting the show today. I had my podcast planned that I record it in Turkey at the city of Ephesus, where the Apostle Paul preached from. I'm going to launch that on Friday. So please come back on Friday. And it's going to be this week I'm going to have two podcasts instead of one because today I have to go over what just took place last night, what we just woke up to. We just woke up and I'm going to cut. Here's a summary of what you're about to hear. I'm going to go over the evil spirits, the demonic realm, and the spiritual battle that's before us. This is the book of Isaiah. Read the book of Isaiah this week. This is what we're in. We're living those times. There are seven things that I'm going to talk about that we can do to turn the tide here as a nation and get back to our biblical standards. And I'm not saying it's a Bible thumper, these are just things that I've been learning and I got to share, and we need to get there. Repent, accept Jesus Christ, go to church, support kingdom-building efforts. Those are anyone who's in the world of building the kingdom here on earth through the ministry, support them. Donate to them, give to the missions. Be in community with each other. This sitting in a silo of your religion and your relationship with God alone, that's not going to fly anymore. It's not working. How's it working for us, folks? In worship. Just as King David worshiped. I'm going to put notes in the description below and a seven-day reading plan when it comes to repentance. I'm also going to talk about the spirit possession. And what I believe is that America has replaced God with demonic spirits. And we're going to talk about that because Jesus talks about it. We refer to it as the, hey, what's your company? What's your vision? What's your culture? Jesus would call that your spirit. Are you demonic or are you heavenly? And I'm going to go over two specific scriptures that Jesus gives an example of this spirit conversation. And we are a nation that has kicked God out of our nation. We have replaced it with demonic spirits. We need to get back. We need to turn to Jesus. We need to turn to the Bible. And this is what I'm going to talk about and dive into right now. Welcome. Welcome to the Brady Foy Junior Show. Oh, folks, I have a question for you. Is what we see going on in this in the political world is America better off today than it was before the election yesterday? I would argue we are experiencing Old Testament times. What I mean by that is over and over again, the Jewish people got warned warned from the prophets, for example, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, over and over to repent, to turn away from their evil ways, and to turn back to their creator, to stop worshiping idols, to stop trying to do worldly things on their own, to get back to prayer. And over and over, when these prophets were considered weirdos and outcasts and against, let's call it, the politically correct way to treat a king of the time. And they were kind of reigning on the parade of fun, of hedonism, of idol worship, of money making, etc. etc. etc. Boy, there is a communist mayor in New York City. And what's crazy is the young Jewish vote that turned out to vote for an anti-Semite. And don't take debate. The issue is not that he's Muslim. That's not the issue. We have more in common with the Muslim faith than we think we do. All the religions and all the faiths have a lot more in common than we think we do. I just spent time in Turkey, Istanbul, and then Ephesus, which is the book of Ephesians. And I did a podcast on my experience there. I did a podcast from Ephesus, from where the Apostle John preached and then was exiled. And that became a revelation or a vision of the books of the book of Revelation, when he warns Ephesus in the seventh in the seven churches, the seven cities who fell from the favor of God or falling from the favor of God because of their behaviors. And it was a warning. So I did a podcast on that, which was going to launch today. And I can't do that. I've got to have a conversation about the familiarity of the times we're living in now to the Old Testament times. Isaiah is one of my favorite books in the Old Testament. Fab by Jeremiah. And then I love what is it? Ecclesiastes. Because Ecclesiastes proves in the book by the wisest man that ever lived that we're just repeating history over and over again. Nothing's new under the sun. And when you read Isaiah, which I believe is a very appropriate book for us all to read right now, because it's a very political, it's a very political of its time, okay, in of a biblical, uh, let's say, let's say a godly warning on a political sphere. So one of the Bibles that I do read is um you know NIV, this one particular Bible I want to read you, the description of Isaiah, which, man, we are living in those times. This is a new, yeah, the NIV, the new international version. So check it out, right? The theme of Isaiah, this isn't my words, this is the author describing before the book. Because of the length of the book of Isaiah, interactions with the politics of its time, where we probably get a better picture of Isaiah's ministry than we do of any other prophet. It also contains more of the well-known classic philosophy prophecy texts than any other book. One commentator calls Isaiah the Romans of the Old Testament. As in Isaiah, we get the broad perspective on how and why God is working in history. Both God's holiness and grace come clearly into perspective through a carefully through carefully studying this book. So Isaiah warns the Jewish people, repent, which means to turn and to change. And if they don't, they will be conquered by an enemy and enslaved. Then Jeremiah comes along and ultimately the prophecy comes true. So I am not somebody who's a Bible thumper. I happen to start reading the Bible right around before before COVID. I go to church and I do midweek Bible study. I'm just trying to figure this life of a Christian out. Anyone who knows me knows I have many flaws. But I gotta tell you, after reading the Bible, studying the Bible, I'm not a genius, I'm not a holy person, but man, the times we're living in call for a warning of the ways of our country. And I personally believe that if America cross-cur, um, what's the word, course corrects, the whole world benefits. If you don't believe that America was founded through the grace of God and with his, or with our country in the palm of his hand, when you look at the history of the of the war we fought, of George Washington, of the troops being on Manhattan, then get off the island, then the weather the next day, and then the Potomac River, and the, you know, and and just all these coincidences that happened to favor our outcome, I believe was all godly. I believe that America was a new country for the Lord, our Creator, to put in place to move forward with Christian values. I don't believe America is a freedom from religion. I believe America is a freedom of religion. And here's where I believe the problem is. We have become a nation that's freedom from religion. The interpretation of beating God out of our school systems, out of our colleges, out of our institutions, out of our government, out of our leaders that are running for government, that these Christians are weirdos. And we need to stay far away from it, or we need to be quiet about our biblical beliefs. Here's the deal: that's not what the Lord positioned America for. Our founders created a constitution that said freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. And after spending time in Turkey and being in that country for their 102nd, 102 years of the anniversary of the republic, of their freedom, and witnessing this pride and watching the Muslim faith in action, it had a profound impact on me. An impact I believe is a pivot for what I hope to be my behavior and my Christ journey becoming a lot more serious. And what I'm talking about specifically is how America has run or ran away from the Lord, just as the Jews have in the Old Testament over and over again and are warned. And if they did not heed the warning and turn back to the Lord and repent, they would be conquered, they would be enslaved, and they would be removed and scattered throughout the earth, which is exactly what happened. And I'll go over those situations, those specific biblical texts in future podcasts. But I'm just giving you a download because of the election outcome. I'm not talking about New Jersey, I'm not talking about Virginia, I'm talking about New York City that just elected a communist. And it's not because he's Muslim. I'm gonna say that again. Putin is not Muslim, he's a communist. North Korean leadership, China, these people are demonic communists. And I don't care what religious what religion they are, it's got nothing to do with that. Don't take the bait that is a Muslim. And that's a problem. That's not the problem. Muslims are not the problem. Of course, every religion, every group, every people have the radicals. I'm not talking about the radical jihad movement. I'm not talking about that. I'm not talking, I'm not gonna bring in the crazy Christian conversation. I'm talking about, when I say crazy Christian, I mean people who molested children and the things that happened through the cloth or the identity of it. I'm not going down to the bows of the boat of the crazies, of the mentally ill, of the psychologically impacted, sick, demonic people. I'm talking about the majority of a religion of a people. Don't take the bait that this I call him Zoolander and the new mayor of um New York City. I say Zoolander because it's a TV show. Like Ben Stiller would play this role. It's so outlandish and so ridiculous that it would never happen. So he's Zoolander to me. Because that's how preposterous what's happening in Manhattan. And I've been trying to get off of one of the scriptures I keep quoting in the early episodes. Okay, let me turn my light on here. I think it's Isaiah 520. Take a look here, real quick. Sorry, gang. Yeah, 520. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Right? I mean, we're seeing an upside-down world. Men can dress as a woman and play against women's sports, they can go in women's locker rooms. We can have California with newsome pass bills, that parents don't have to be involved in the decisions of the castration of their sons and a changing of their sex. We are in a completely upside-down world where the truth is a lie and a lie is a truth. That's biblical, that's demonic, and our country needs a radical, quick emergency break pulled, a 180 turn, and we have got to start getting back to our Christian value system. We it just it's it's necessary and it's absolutely urgent if we want to save our country. We had the greatest generation have to storm beaches and run into a flurry of bullets. Can you imagine if all we had to do, our generation, our children, is turn back to our biblical values? And I know it sounds crazy and it sounds weird because we've been all told to hide our biblical values, to not to feel bad for people and not push our belief system. That's not biblical. That's not the Bible. That's demonic. What if all we had to do is repent, is accept Jesus Christ, is to go to church, is to read the Bible, then support people that are building the kingdom here on earth, pastors, priests, rabbis, and then be in community together, supporting each other, reminding each other of our Christian values, and then worship, just out loud worshiping God. These are all biblical standards to stay on the course of a righteous nation. What if all we had to do was seven things? We don't have to storm a beach, we don't have to have cannons fired at us or jump out of planes. What if all we had to do is repent, accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, go to church, read the Bible daily, support those that are building the kingdom here on earth, God's kingdom here on earth, be in community. Well, I don't have to go to church, have a relationship with God. Great, but it's not just about you, it's about our nation, it's about people who need you in church that perhaps you can help them through what they're going through. And then you get to held the be, we get to be held accountable by showing up with our behaviors through our community. And then worship. King David has a whole book on worship, the book of Psalms. It's King David worshiping God. We as Christians have got to get back to our foundation. We've got to stop apologizing for having a biblical Christian belief system. We have got to get back to the spirit of God in our children, in our homes, in our institutions, in our schools, and we have to do it boldly. We have to do it quickly. Repent means a turn. It means to turn, it means to pivot. We need to pivot from our demonic behavior and our demonic ways and our apologetic Christian views to be more bold, outspoken in leading our country back to church, back to the book, back to the Bible. Gang whatever does not have a Christian value, will have another value system. And we call it what's the culture, the Bible calls it the spirit. What's the spirit? What's the realm? Is it heavenly or is it demonic? The spirit of our nation, if it's empty and we're not going to fill it with Christian values, it will be demonic. Specifically, biblically, Jesus talks about this. In the book of Matthew, the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus goes and removes a demon from a possessed man, that the demons possess him, casts the demons to the pig, pen, and then the pigs run off the cliff. And then you jump to the book of Matthew. And his this is what I'm really what's really impacted me in observing our ways as a nation and studying our history. So check this out. The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 12, verse 43 through 45. This is the point Jesus is making, and this hopefully you can see the parallels to what's going on in our country. When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, I will return to the house I left. When it arrives, it finds a house unoccupied, swept cleaned, and put in order. Then it goes in and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself. And they go in and they live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with the wicked generation. The point in my interpretation and reading the full gospel is that we have a spirit. And when we become witnesses of Christ and we He cleans us up, He we repent, we then have an empty house that a spirit will come occupy. And it will either be a demonic spirit that's going to be much worse than we were in the first place, or it's going to be a heavenly spirit. If you look, what I'm trying to say is our country was founded on godly values. We have pounded God out of our institution, out of our educational system, out of our society. And it was, and so we've cleaned it up for the sake of political correctness and not making people feel feel bad about themselves and not push our belief system on someone. What happened was we created an empty vessel all throughout our nation. And those vessels were education systems, were political offices, were uh company cultures, were colleges, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And what happened was they were they got replaced with demonic spirits, with a dark evil realm. They saw these empty opportunities and they went and they squatted. Just like if you have an empty house, it sits empty, someone goes in and squats. And that's someone usually is not a righteous person that's gonna send you a rent check. It's typically a demonic person that's gonna take advantage and live as for free as long as they possibly can. Folks, our nation has been whitewashed, has been bleached out of the Lord, of God. I know, I mean, I grew up in it. I'm ashamed I wasn't more into the Bible 10 years ago, 20 years ago. This is something I just started sticking my teeth into in 2019, and then really diving into during COVID and becoming obsessed with the word and getting in my head and doubting it and then getting back to it and speaking to people in Christian communities. And I'm on this journey that has completely blown my mind. And when you see New York City being taken over by communists, this is biblical. New York City is a demonic island with demonic behaviors everywhere, and the lie is now the truth, and the truth is a lie. Our nation will go down that road. This isn't about Democrats, this isn't about Republicans, this isn't about vaccinated, non-vaccinated. Those are all categories that the devil has put in our world and our new system and in our minds. This is about heavenly realms or demonic realms. When I get angry and I get road rage, am I heavenly or am I demonic? That's a demonic behavior. Everything we do, every law we pass, every behavior we exhibit falls into one of two categories. Is it demonic or is it heavenly? And unfortunately, most of the behavior we're exhibiting as a nation, more and more, is falling into a demonic bucket. We've opened the vessel to be occupied by demons, by the devil, because we've been embarrassed over our Christian faith. And I wanted to talk about this podcast. I'm gonna talk about it next week. To witness what I witnessed in the mosques of Turkey, and I'm not it, I'm learning this Muslim faith, this Muslim lifestyle, this Islamic um belief, religion, and I'm studying it and I'm having conversations with Muslims, and I'm understanding that their unapologetic worship, their unapologetic values that they have, they're not hiding who they are and what they believe in. They're out there, they're in public, and they're on full display. That's what Jesus wants us Christians being. When I got pulled into this mosque, which I would never walk into in a million years, I find myself walking into a mosque in Istanbul, put my shoes off, my wife has her scarf around her head, and we just walked in. And what the Holy Spirit showed me was what he expects me to do, what he expects other Christians to do, to live unapologetically in the open forum, in community, with our faith forward, not our faith hidden in a closet, not our faith shrunk and diluted for the sake of popularity, for the sake of not being an outcast. Isaiah was an outcast. Jeremiah was an outcast. Biblical people were outcasts, biblical prophets, saviors, believers. Jesus was an outcast. He couldn't preach in his own town. Jesus was an outcast. He was crucified. Religious order had him crucified. It was political. It was power. It was power structure. It was demonic. Politics is the demonic realm. The Bible talks about it. Well, we're not supposed to be involved in politics. Where does it say that in the Bible? Yes, we are. Stop apologizing for our faith. Please. We've got to get our nation back to church. Get over church hurt. Get over any opinion I have of it. Get over this selfish. Well, I don't need to have a relationship with them. I can just sit out on my automatic chair and I can talk to them. Yeah, you can do all those things. But our nation, our community needs us all together. We need to fight this demonic spirit. We need to pound it out of our nation. We need to stop its spread. And don't, I'm going to say it again, folks, don't take the bait that this crazy new communist that we're unhappy that is Muslim. That's his no, no, no, no, no. That's taking a bait. Let's stop these religious wars against each other. We have all have more in common than you think we do. And I'm going to talk about what I learned in Turkey in deep, deep conversation. Y'all know I can have a conversation with a door handle, a doorknob I can talk to. Can you imagine the conversations I had with people of the Muslim faith that I was in their realm for five days, completely taken back and inspired by their unapologetic, faith-forward behavior, as compared to our Christian hide in a closet, and shh, let's not offend anyone behavior. Biblically, we need to pivot back to our foundation, stop apologizing. Yes, we're all hypocrites, yes, we're all sinners. The greatest sin of all love love love the Lord, but love the greatest command of all, love the Lord, and then love your neighbor as you love yourself. Baby, that's the second commandment. Not all this other stuff that we're judging each other on. We're all guilty of that. So we're all hypocrites, we all fall short of the glory of God, but Jesus Christ was crucified, he was raised from the Dead for our hypocritical behavior. We need to accept him. We need to pivot as a nation together back to the glory of God. We don't need to storm beaches. We don't need to grab guns. We don't need to be afraid of other religions. America is a country freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Let's stop treating it as a country freedom from religion. Let's get out there. Let's all figure this Jesus journey out together. And perhaps we can turn from our ways and we can prevent our nation from being handed over to the evil one. Because right now, we woke up in a country that's more evil or that's worse off than it was yesterday. Specifically, a communist leader of New York City that was voted in by the very people he despises. Specifically, young voters, gay voters, Jewish voters. It's just, it's it's blowing my mind that this man was elected with his demonic anti-Semite out in the public opinion. He's a communist and he's now running New York City. And this is what's going to happen throughout our nation if we do not repent. He's a communist. Again, don't take the bait that he's a Muslim. That's not the problem. We'll talk about that on the next podcast. He's a communist. There's communists that were of the Christian faith that backed Hitler back in World War II. So don't be this ping-pong of the bucket of what their faith is. He's a communist. That's it. He's a commie. And he's running the largest city in the world. Stay tuned for next week. I've got a great conversation I want to have with you about what I've learned in my journey in Turkey and just the spiritual like sledgehammer that hit me in the face. Have a great week and get to church.
