Yong-Li has a Diploma in Personal Care Development and certification in Advanced Skin Science. Their knowledge together has allowed them to build one of Australia's leading luxury skincare brands- Enbacci.
Yong-Li covers all things body image, endometriosis, adenomyosis, the excruciating pain that she endured and what led her to birth her leading luxury skincare company. You will also find out more about the science behind Enbacci’s delicious products. So, if you love cool, scientific- stem cell chat, then you will loveeee this episode!
Speaking of stem cells.. A personal fav product of ours is the complete firming lotion that is body positive and preserved in the stem cells of the Saponaria Pumila (a dusty pink in coloured plant with green fleshy leaves from the alpine mountains). This has been scientifically proven to protect dermal skin cells from environmental induced stress, revive skin cell activity, and fortify the skin's natural defence system by improving skin elasticity and firmness. Its also vegan, non-greasy, light weight, cruelty free and pregnancy safe!
We know that you will all love Yong-Li, she is humble, eloquent and a sheer delight.
This episode is brought to you with the help of our Sponsor, Enbacci who are proud supporters of the Pumped Podcast. Love Hays and Soph xxx
Hays: Before we begin, we are grateful to live and work on land that holds the stories of the Dreamtime. We pay our respects and honour the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present & emerging and acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of our First Nations People.
Soph: Today we welcome the incredible Yong-Li who along with her mum, Nan Chen, is the founder and creator of Enbacci our wonderful Sponsors for season 2. Nan has a background in fashion design and has worked as a Manager for numerous luxury boutiques before starting her own businesses. Yong-Li has a Diploma in Personal Care Development and certification in Advanced Skin Science. Their knowledge together has allowed them to build one of Australia's leading luxury skincare brands- Enbacci.
Hays: Now you have written a beautiful open letter in your product guide where you outline that “when you were pregnant, you absolutely adored your body. Having endometriosis and ad-eno-- myosis most of your adult life, being pregnant made you feel like your body was finally doing something right. However, this acceptance soon came to an abrupt end once you were no longer pregnant.
You said..
Soph: “Don’t get me wrong, I am proud of what my body created and what it went through to deliver my beautiful baby boy. But deep down inside, I am not satisfied with the physical appearance of my body”-- Can you explain in greater detail to our listeners how this developed into creating Enbacci?
Hays: Now, we ask all of our listeners this, do you have a funny Motherhood story you can share with us?
Soph: Given that this poddy is called PUMPED. Have you ever pumped?
Soph: For all the listeners who are balancing work and babies, can you share with us what a typical day in your life looks like?
Hays: HOW did you source a product from the Ice Age to utilise? That is so fascinating to us! Please talk us through this and the natural ingredients that you use (stem cells)
Hays: How does your mental health survive with a booming business and a family? Have you had any days that have just felt too much - we all know the mental load of Motherhood is challenging to say the least.
Soph: What has been the most beautiful part of Motherhood for you? What about the most challenging? Feel free to reflect on any stories or memories that come to mind.
Hays: Any fav products in your range that mums should be using? I personally love the skin firming lotion and smell and it's not all about “FIRMING” the body to be tight, can you explain to our listeners the body positivity angle of this product and the environmental friendly aspect?
Soph: Going to pivot here…Who is in your village for support during lockdown in particular and this insane time for parents?
Hays: What is any advice that you would give to a new mum or parent? Or what would you tell yourself if you could go back there with all that you now know?
Soph: What's one thing that you do for yourself if you can?
Hays: Wrapping up can you give us three words that sum up Motherhood for you?
Soph: Thanks so much for coming on the Podcast, we are thrilled to have you as our Sponsor. We can’t wait for our audience to explore your delicious products and now they get a real sense of who you are, your story.
