EP 14: Lindy Klim- “Life in Bali, Covid, Parenting For Mixed Ages, An Insight Into Fig Femme & Motherhood At Its Rawest’
Lindy Klim ladies and gents! The Balinese-Australian fashion identity who has captivated the public with her trademark sophistication for nearly two decades. Away from the black tie occasions and runway shows, Lindy leads a full but low-key life in Bali as a devoted mother to her four children Stellar, Rocco, Frankie and Goldie, and husband, Adam Ellis. With four kids, Lindy knows a thing or two when it comes to women’s intimate care.
Sick of the typical taboo connotations associated with talking about the female vulva, the lack of conversation and (readily available) information on post-pregnancy care - Lindy made it her mission to create a wellness brand, Fig Femme, that encourages an open and honest self-care routine. Its “skin care for down there”… Care for the vulva (or as Hays calls it in the episode- the Vagootz) is no less important than care for any other body surface. So, why is there so much shame around this? We dive into this discussion and how there has been push back around some of her products which are now selling out on POOSH and The Iconic.
We talk all things about Lindy’s wild ride into Motherhood, living in Bali, Covid, breastfeeding and pumping on her wedding day to Michael Klim, how she started her wellness brand- Fig Femme, advice for mums in the 4th trimester, catering to different children through different parenting styles and so much more. Lindy is so incredibly warm, genuine and open with her stories- everyone will gain something from this episode. She is STUNNING and we love her so much.

Love Hays and Soph xxx
Sophie: Before we begin, we are grateful to live and work on land that holds the stories of the Dreamtime. I pay my respects and honour the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present & emerging and acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of our First Nations People.
Both then discuss their PUMP UP/ PUMP DOWN for the week.
Hays: Lindy Klim needs no introduction, the Balinese-Australian fashion identity has captivated the public with her trademark sophistication for nearly two decades. Lindy’s longevity in the public eye is proof of her uncontrived mystique, gliding between all out glamour and barefoot domestically with seamless ease. It wasn’t long before her striking looks, style and business acumen launched Lindy beyond the realm of modelling to become a successful entrepreneur and a brand in her own right.
Soph: Today, Lindy is synonymous with effortless chic and it’s this high-end sensibility that has top-shelf brands like La Mer skincare, Mumm Champagne and Omega timepieces keen to be associated with the beauty’s innate elegance. Lindy splits her time between Australia, Indonesia and Europe.
Hays: Away from the black tie occasions and runway shows, Lindy leads a full but low-key life in Bali as a devoted mother to her four children Stellar, Rocco, Frankie and Goldie, and husband, Adam Ellis. In this tropical oasis Lindy embraces the opportunity to go fresh faced in a uniform of t-shirt and denim wear between ocean swims, meetings and the school run. Between her stunning ensembles, dynamic career success and authentic insight into her home life Lindy is the ultimate expression of a modern woman - strong, enterprising and elegant.
Soph: Now, for her latest venture Fig Femme-
With four kids: Lindy knows a thing or two when it comes to women’s intimate care.
Sick of the typical taboo connotations associated with talking about the female vulva, the lack of conversation and (readily available) information on post-pregnancy care - Lindy made it her mission to create a wellness brand that encourages an open and honest self-care routine.
Hays: Care for the vulva (or as I call it in the episode the Vagootz) is no less important than care for any other body surface. The candidly brazen conversations between friends began - swapping pregnancy stories and frank truths of the matter.
Soph: Firstly, We are PUMPED to have you with us today! Thanks for taking the time during your busy schedule. Do you have a funny Motherhood story for us? We love starting the podcast with this.
Hays: Given that this poddy is entitled PUMPED. Have you ever pumped with any of your bubs in those early days? How was feeding for you? We support all types of feeding in this space.
Soph: Can you tell us about the story behind the inspiration and creative process of founding ‘Fig Femme’?
Hays: How were the births of your four babes? (Just summarised versions as the main focus is more so postpartum)
Soph: As we have heard in your intro, your career is extensive! What has been the most memorable aspect of it all for you?
Soph Do you remember the state of your mental health during the 4th trimester and onwards as your bubs grew up? Did you have similar experiences with all children or were they (like children) all different? Feel free to touch on one particular experience or several if you wish to.
Hays: What has been the most beautiful part of Motherhood for you? What about the most challenging aspect for you? Feel free to reflect on any stories or particular images or memories that come to mind.
Soph: You have been living in the beautiful Bali for several years now. Which I am sure has changed a lot since covid, how are you finding life post pandemic? Do your kids love the lifestyle and culture?
Hays: What advice would you give to any new mumma with all of your knowledge and expertise?
Soph: What's one thing that you do for yourself if you can? Self care or fun?
Hays: The taboo around Vulva’s/vaginas... Lets talk about this more and about Fig Femme, I must say I have trialled the ‘Restore’ spray in particular after being in cossies all day in QLD with my family for Christmas and I got quite uncomfortable down there (we all know ladies wearing swimmers for too long doesn’t help so - I popped on the restore spray and felt instant relief)...
Soph: So to wrap up as we usually do can you please give us three words that summarise Motherhood for you?
