Phil is an Outdoor Enthusiast, Journalist, Freelance Writer, and Author. Phil spent 33 years as a newspaper reporter and 10 more as communications chief for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
He continues to write articles for Outdoor Indiana magazine, the official publication of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Phil is researching the history of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. He enjoys digging into the past, learning about the people and events that shaped the organization, which was founded in 1927.
