Laughter might be the best medicine, but finding the perfect comedy film can sometimes feel like a quest for the Holy Grail. Fresh off our deep dive into the health benefits of laughter, we're now counting down the 10 funniest movies of all time – a subjective yet passionate ranking guaranteed to spark debate among comedy aficionados everywhere.

From Will Ferrell's quotable antics in Anchorman to the subtle genius of Monty Python, we explore what makes these films stand the test of time. Why do certain lines stick with us for decades? How does comedy evolve yet somehow stay timeless? And why can we watch these movies repeatedly, knowing the punchlines, yet still laugh just as hard?

Our countdown traverses various comedy styles – from the mockumentary brilliance of This is Spinal Tap to the boundary-pushing satire of Blazing Saddles and the cringe-worthy scenarios of Borat. Each film earns its place through some combination of quotability, originality, cultural impact, and pure laugh-out-loud moments that leave your sides hurting.

The episode kicks off with our "Winner of the Week" segment featuring an incredible story about a woman who remembered her CPR training from 40 years prior to save a teenager's life during a baseball practice. This real-life hero kept the rhythm of chest compressions by humming "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees – proving that sometimes the right soundtrack can literally save lives.

Whether you're looking to expand your comedy watchlist or eager to challenge our rankings with your own favorites, this episode celebrates the films that bring joy, relief, and healing through laughter. And remember – watching a great comedy isn't just entertainment; it's a form of self-care that releases those mood-boosting endorphins your brain craves.

In this episode of the Motor City Hypnotist podcast, we're back to a top 10 list. We've not done one of these in a long while. I try to throw one out there every couple of three months or so, but it's been a bit. But since we just did an episode, if you haven't listened to the last episode, jump back. We talk about laughter and your mental health. I'm going to count down my top 10 funniest movies. Now this can be very subjective because, again, humor is very subjective depending on who you're talking to. But we can agree on a lot of things that empirically they're funny. So I'm going to count down my top 10. We can have a lot of discussion and arguments if you'd like, but it's all good because we're just going to have fun and we're going to talk about it.

Jamie Flanagan: 0:43

As you started talking about this, I was like oh crap, what movies will I possibly?

David Wright: 0:47

Well, I was going to say, I'm going to start, I'm like starting to formulate. Starting to formulate which?

Jamie Flanagan: 0:52

ones I need to talk about.

David Wright: 0:53

All right, folks, stay tuned for that top 10 list and, as usual, we're giving away free stuff. Hang in there.

Announcer: 0:59

David Wright: 3:10

David Wright: 4:42

That could be this podcast, that could be an individual session, it could be a show that I've done at your school or work or if you've seen me in public somewhere. So all reviews are important. So I would appreciate that, because the more reviews I get, the more people see it and the more business I get and it just kind of grows exponentially like that. So I would appreciate it. The big thing is, wherever you're listening, whether it's on Facebook Live or even audio, please subscribe, link, connect to whatever you have to do on your platform to get the show whenever it drops and then also leave a review for the podcast itself Because, again, that gets me in front of more people and we can grow. Awesome, it is time.

Announcer: 5:22

Winner of the week that's how winning is done all righty.

David Wright: 5:36

So, um, this comes. I'm not sure where, shoot the byline I. I erased the byline. I don't know where it's from, but it is United States.

David Wright: 5:48

Jeanette Wilmot learned CPR when she was 17 years old oh okay, and never needed it in the 40 years since. So she's 57. You and your math, yep. So she learned at 17. She's now 57. But recently, when a 15-year-old went into cardiac arrest during a baseball practice, wilmot remembered everything as if she had been trained.

David Wright: 6:14

Yesterday, evan Tucker had just finished his freshman baseball season at Pinson Valley High School in Alabama and was trying out for a travel team when he collapsed on the field. His mother, samantha, thought he had been hit by a ball. Someone else thought he was having a seizure. The reality was much worse it was a cardiac arrest. That's when Miss Wilmot, who was there for her own son's tryout, sprinted toward Tucker's side. I learned cpr in high school and I've never had to use it in 40 years. I just kept humming, staying alive, by the bgs. She told wbrc news, referring to the famous bg song which has the perfect beat for delivering chest compressions. Oh my gosh. Okay. Wilmot performed c CPR for eight minutes before an ambulance arrived, oh my goodness, and Evan was taken to Children's Hospital where doctors were able to shock his heart to restart its rhythm.

Jamie Flanagan: 7:18

So chest compressions man?

David Wright: 7:20

Yeah, yeah, I've heard the rhythm like doing it to a a song. I don't know if I've ever heard staying alive, though I I may have heard other songs that could be that one, I don't know though.

Jamie Flanagan: 7:31

Yeah, that would have been when you know I was about the time frame. Yeah, we were in high school because we're right near her age. Yeah right.

David Wright: 7:40

Evan's condition eventually stabilized after a few days. If his physical therapy continues to progress, he should make a full recovery and a family friend set up a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for the large hospital bills. If you ask Evan's mom, divine intervention deserves all the credit, and some long-remembered CPR too. Miracles happen, Samantha said. If it hadn't been for Jeanette, my son would not be here today. Wow, there you go. So there you go. I mean, even if you learned CPR 40 years ago.

Jamie Flanagan: 8:11

Yeah, you never know CPR, because I teach high school.

David Wright: 8:15

Yeah, you do.

Jamie Flanagan: 8:16

And we're always getting trained for this that you know things Right yeah. And you know, duck and cover. You got to hide under your desk for the nuclear war. Yeah well, you guys have active shooter drills now too, I'm assuming, which that just blows my mind, so, but uh cpr has changed.

David Wright: 8:35

Uh, because I took it, I got. Uh, well, because you don't do the, the mouth, the mouth, green, green certified.

Jamie Flanagan: 8:37

Yeah, and it's like uh, I still remember I got trained uh recently, but I still. If I think about it. If I was in a panic situation, I would probably do what I had learned in high school Right, a quick check, you know.

David Wright: 8:51

Yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 8:53

It's you know. So you know, just four quick breaths and you know, check the airway. Well, the way Four quick breaths, Yep and then you know, check for a pulse and then start the compressions. So that's it, but that's that's that's in my head and what I, what I know. So, but you can't go wrong with helping.

David Wright: 9:12

No, you know, even if you just do compressions, that keeps the heart the blood pumping through. That's the important part. And that's why they took the breathing part out of it. Yeah, yeah, but but you're right, I learned the same way I, I I believe it was 10 chest compressions.

Jamie Flanagan: 9:34

Two breaths, but again that this was like 100 years ago myself. So yeah, it's been a while, so it's uh. Yeah, it's it. It did doing a little bit helps, you know, you just absolutely so.

David Wright: 9:42

Anyway, good story about a somebody who's just a bystander just just did the right thing, so definitely winner of the week that's how winning is done yes, it is all right. Great story wait for, wait for this.

Jamie Flanagan: 10:02

Wait for this Top 10.

David Wright: 10:05

Top 10 funny movies.

Announcer: 10:08

Oh, good for you.

Jamie Flanagan: 10:10

I try to think of the things that we quote.

David Wright: 10:22

That's a very difficult thing when you're talking about any top 10 list. That's always the challenge, of course, but I'm just going to go in the order. I have them and we can talk as we go. I mean, there are a lot of honorable mentions just because there's so many but, and again, recency bias comes into play as well. So number 10, anchorman, legend of.

Jamie Flanagan: 10:44

Ron Burgundy who can't love that to play as well. Okay, so number 10 anchorman anchorman legend of ron burgundy. It's like every, every love that I mean it'd be your top 10 will ferrell movies yes, oh, great odin's rave yeah and that's why I think about what movies do we quote all the time? When I was thinking about that I was walking to colleen and I quote like constantly yeah, and it's like this one all the time stick that knife in your leg, ricky Bobby.

Jamie Flanagan: 11:07

We see somebody doing something stupid. We're like don't stick that knife in your leg, ricky Bobby Boy that escalated quickly. There's another one, I mean that really got out of hand fast.

David Wright: 11:17

Here's the other one.

Announcer: 11:19

It's quite pungent. It stings the nostrils.

David Wright: 11:23

I mean, there's so many from that movie.

Jamie Flanagan: 11:26

It's just constant.

David Wright: 11:28

So definitely I mean I think I'm safe to say most people like that movie as far as a comedy goes.

Jamie Flanagan: 11:36

Sure you misogynist. Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, that's kind of the fun part of it, that's the shtick, yeah exactly, absolutely Number nine of the fun part of it.

David Wright: 11:49

Yeah, it's the shtick. Yeah, exactly, absolutely number nine. Um, again a little recency bias, but not too recent.

Jamie Flanagan: 11:52

The hangover, oh god, I mean oh my god, there's so many things in that. What's the, the hangover, what's the funniest part of the movie to you?

David Wright: 11:59

oh geez it's it honestly. It's not a part, it's just specific lines yeah specific lines stand out to me like like like when zach galifianakis walks up with that shirt and his bag and they said what is that? A person goes now, it's a satchel, it's a satchel. And he goes indiana jones carries a satchel. So then the other guy says so did joey behar.

Jamie Flanagan: 12:19

So did caesar actually live here. So but the funniest part of that movie is the Polaroids or the photos at the end. Yeah, and seeing the actual thing unfold. So that's the actual, that's the gem of that, yeah, and it's pretty uproarious all the way through.

David Wright: 12:41

Well, yeah, it's just constant just chicanery and nonsense.

Jamie Flanagan: 12:46

It's, it's, it's just, it's like watching the, the polaroids at the end of it or the pictures at the end of it, is like it. We just trick people into watching this movie twice yeah, you know, yeah, exactly, yes, yeah, for sure.

David Wright: 12:59

Number eight the big lebowski classic jeff bridges. All right, just that's funny to you know it is okay, you're. You're not a fan of the big lebowski? No, not so much. I like dry humor, but yeah, yeah, I mean, well see, and that's the thing, it is very dry is fargo funny yes, to me sometimes, yeah, it is no. Yeah, yeah yeah, yeah, since it's, it's that to me, but but to me I, I it. It's.

David Wright: 13:29

It's like the best way to put it is just subtle yeah yes, and and, and that's I, and I like subtle, like I, for some reason, it just it just resonates with that wouldn't come up for that.

Jamie Flanagan: 13:39

Wouldn't come up for me, just just it's just in general.

David Wright: 13:42

It is funny it is.

Jamie Flanagan: 13:43

It is funny, it is yeah yeah, it is good.

David Wright: 13:47

Number seven Blazing Saddles, oh yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 13:50

Mel Brooks Uncut, uncut, yes.

David Wright: 13:53

All the stuff in it.

Jamie Flanagan: 13:54

Yes, You've got to raw dog that.

Announcer: 13:58

You've got to go back to the original.

David Wright: 14:01

That was it.

Jamie Flanagan: 14:03

Oh great.

Announcer: 14:05

Oh great. What in blazes are you talking about? Yes, Apologies.

Jamie Flanagan: 14:12

Yes, that's another one that I quote all the time.

David Wright: 14:16

And the tough one is that with Mel Brooks there's so many. I mean I could take Mel Brooks and just take scenes from all of his movies and make a movie that all of the funny bits.

David Wright: 14:29

Because it's not on my list movie, that all of the funny bits, because and it's not on my list, um, it might be in my honorable mentions, but there's this whole scene in in high anxiety. Remember that one. Yeah, when the guy says he, he, um, he has pains in his neck and he dreams of werewolves and harvey corman shoots him with a paper clip in the neck and he's like he puts that, he puts the teeth in his I could watch that scene a hundred times and it's still funny to me, yeah it is it's just constant.

Jamie Flanagan: 14:59

So see, thank you for making me laugh. All right, yeah, absolutely, I feel better okay, this, this one is it's.

David Wright: 15:06

I I'm gonna say it's off the beaten path. I I can just put this on and watch it, just because it's just so ridiculous and funny. It's team america world police. Oh my god yeah, oh my gosh yeah yeah I don't know, I can't, I can't remember a line of dialogue, all I remember, is just the puppet well, I remember he said you know if you get into trouble, you know the signal he starts waving his arms.

Jamie Flanagan: 15:34

He's in the.

David Wright: 15:35

Jeep waving his arms. But there's again just like, just ridiculous. Like when the head CIA guy or the head Team America guy says if you get captured, you may want to kill yourself, You'll need this and he slides on my hammer. Okay, let's just yeah just the and and that the whole I.

Jamie Flanagan: 16:02

I well, you've seen it so it's very south parkian, yeah, yeah, very south parkian.

David Wright: 16:06

So that that's kind of the, the appeal of there, and then I blame, blame Canada. Yeah, absolutely. If you go to South Park, the movie Again, that's probably in my honorable mentions when is it funny and when is it uncomfortable.

Jamie Flanagan: 16:19

See, that's kind of a fine line, Because yeah, you can't get into some very satirical comedy that is like ooh yeah, kind of hits home.

David Wright: 16:31

Okay, that's five down, five to go. Number five national lampoon's vacation the original, all right, just kind of just a classic that sits out there and and I I know people love christmas vacation I was gonna say I'm trying to think which we which is funnier christmas vacation or vacation it's. I mean christmas vacation is more quoted, I think, just because of of uh, uncle, um, um uncle eddie yeah yeah, but but I mean, that was the.

David Wright: 17:05

I remember watching this. The original vacation I was in college, we rented the vhs or betamax. It could have been betamax at the time, who knows but but, I remember us just.

Jamie Flanagan: 17:17

I mean, I will say we were drinking also but you know, so let's just you know.

David Wright: 17:22

But but at the time we, we, we were on the floor, we were just yeah, no it's a good one, number four again, that this is personal preference. I might get hit for this, but borat oh my gosh again.

Jamie Flanagan: 17:38

Where's uh appropriate or not?

David Wright: 17:40

exactly, and what is, what is, uh, I mean, I mean, it is one of those things that Uncomfortably yes. It's like cringe comedy, the two of them running naked. Oh, that was For just way too long. Yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 17:58

And just it's like yeah, I can't believe he's doing this. I can't believe this has been going on for 15 minutes Right.

David Wright: 18:06

It is kind of that cringe comedy type thing. How did he get away?

Jamie Flanagan: 18:10

with making that.

David Wright: 18:12

And not is kind of that cringe comedy type thing. How did he get away?

Jamie Flanagan: 18:14

with making that, and even not even retrospectively. How did he do it in?

David Wright: 18:15

real time. So I will tell you that I have some insight into this, because I wondered that myself, especially the pam anderson bit at the end. Yeah, she was in on it. None of her, none of her, none of her entourage were, though okay, she didn't tell them she knew what was going to happen. They did not. So the reactions are real. She was in on it, though.

Jamie Flanagan: 18:35

Oh my gosh.

David Wright: 18:38

Yeah, it's just that uncomfortable comedy. My son and I we are constantly saying I love it hey what's up there, Vanilla Face.

Jamie Flanagan: 18:48

We do that all the time Somebody's having a baby, it's like oh, it's a girl, I'm so sorry, let's throw it away. I'll let me throw that away for you.

David Wright: 18:58

Oh my God, it's a very, for some people, uncomfortable comedy.

Jamie Flanagan: 19:03

Yeah, oh no, it's in there.

David Wright: 19:09

It's got to be up. All right. Number three this is Spinal Tap. Yeah, it's in there. Okay, it's got to be up. You know, all right. Number three, this is spinal tap. If you're into mockumentaries and and um and rock bands, this will be right up your alley so yeah, and there's, and there's a couple of sequels coming out, uh space balls too yeah, and spinal tap too, yes, uh.

Jamie Flanagan: 19:29

So there's a couple biggies is coming out.

Announcer: 19:31

Spaceballs 2 and Spinal Tap 2. Yes.

David Wright: 19:32

So, there's a couple of biggies.

Jamie Flanagan: 19:33

Is Spaceballs somewhere in your?

David Wright: 19:34

honorable mentions. It is in my honorable mentions, yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 19:36

So, but it yeah. So Spinal Tap 2, they're finally doing a.

David Wright: 19:41

You know how many drummers I gotta we gotta find out how many drummers have died. How many drummers have died? Did any of them spontaneous combust? Yeah, yeah, right.

Jamie Flanagan: 19:51

And uh, so, but the the mockumentary, and then, uh, the guy, uh, lenny, um yeah, um, uh, michael McKeon, michael. Mckeon, he is like but he, he and those guys, um, they've, they've done, they did uh like were they in best in show?

David Wright: 20:10

best in show?

Jamie Flanagan: 20:11

I think they were yes I think they were um, it's like there's a whole, there's a whole truth. It's kind of like will ferrell he does the same damn movie was the mighty win. One like the folk music genre yes, yes, okay, okay, yeah, I don't remember exactly, but yeah, yeah. And then there was a like a, a takeoff on the prairie home companion. I think they did like a talk radio one, yeah, uh. So yeah, those are all just.

David Wright: 20:38

Yeah, just rip roaring just and just stupid stuff from from like best in show that if I hear this a hundred times is is the guy with with the hound dog naming nuts? I could listen to that. I do it all the time at home and my wife and kid are like what are you doing? I mean, they're naming nuts.

Jamie Flanagan: 21:02

What is the Because? The one narrator that in Pitch Perfect, that's the best part of that movie is when you have the two commentators doing the play by plays of the singing competitions. Yeah, yeah, those are the best because they're just, they're so politically incorrect.

David Wright: 21:20

Yes.

Announcer: 21:21

Right yeah, I think that's.

Jamie Flanagan: 21:22

I think, yeah, we're the, we're men of a certain age.

David Wright: 21:26

Yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 21:27

Right and it's like that, political incorrect, we'll still laugh at it. We don't care that it's politically.

David Wright: 21:32

Well, sure, because it's done in humor, it's like hey, it's comedy, Get over it yeah. Well, exactly, that's part of it, yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 21:40

Okay, is this numerical counting up to your tops, or is this?

David Wright: 21:44

in no particular order. I tried to put them in a semblance of order, but but you know where we are now number two coming in at number two coming in at number two on today's top 40 um airplane. Oh yeah, I mean it just has to be up there, it's just so you like gladiator movies you ever seen a grown? Man naked it's like so inappropriate no, no, don't shut me up. You ever seen a grown man naked? It's like so inappropriate. No, no, don't shut me up.

Jamie Flanagan: 22:17

And he's like what do you make of this? A hat, a brooch, a pterodactyl flying through the air? You ever seen the?

David Wright: 22:20

inside of a Turkish prison.

Jamie Flanagan: 22:21

That's it, I'm listening to you no more, or his power goes out. Just kidding, it's just constant.

David Wright: 22:31

It's just constant's just constant, just slapstick well, not even slapstick, it's more.

Jamie Flanagan: 22:35

Just pick the bad day to start stop sniffing. Stop sniffing glue yeah right, yes, okay.

David Wright: 22:42

So that's our top nine before we get to number one, and this is tough because any of these could I think any of these could be number one, but even going through the honorable mentions, you sure? You'll, you'll, you'll have some ring a bell young frankenstein oh my gosh stripes, the great outdoors anything from bill murray, almost yeah kingpin kingpin all right this was a tough one. I almost had this in my top 10. Step Brothers.

Jamie Flanagan: 23:10

Oh, okay. Again another well-quoted show, yeah, I mean there's so much room for activities A.

David Wright: 23:17

Christmas Story.

Jamie Flanagan: 23:19

Yeah.

David Wright: 23:20

I mean, it's kind of a comedy, it's kind of you know.

Jamie Flanagan: 23:23

Yeah, yeah, it's got this underlying thing.

David Wright: 23:25

Napoleon Dynamite. Oh Jesus, all right, high Anxiety, the Mel Brooks again. Tina, come get some food. Fast Times at Ridgemont. High Love it Coming to America. I know, see, and I know I'm missing some. That's a sad, thing, tommy Boy.

Jamie Flanagan: 23:48

Tommy Boy yeah, fat guy in a little coat.

David Wright: 23:56

Dumb and dumber. Yeah, yeah, I mean that's a very specific, I mean put it this way and I can say this Kendra's probably listening. She might not be, but that's not. She doesn't find that funny at all.

Jamie Flanagan: 24:11

Ah, so I take ace ventura over that I, you know what that that's.

David Wright: 24:15

That's another one. I didn't I don't have it on my, even on my mentions, but space balls is on my on my honorable mention as well, all right um. So number one, and again I have to go with this holy grail. Oh, monty python, holy grail yeah I just it, it, it's.

David Wright: 24:31

It's that british humor that a lot of people don't get, yeah, but there's a lot of political commentary that runs under the whole narrative of the whole movie sure, so it's interesting though people are like oh, but life of brian is such a mess, loses me a little bit, yeah, and in the the python tv series faulty towers amazing.

Jamie Flanagan: 24:46

And, yes, you know the Python TV series Fawlty Towers Amazing.

David Wright: 24:51

Yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 24:52

You know their sketch comedy amazing and the Holy Grail, yeah, it is.

David Wright: 24:57

It's the Holy Grail of comedy, yeah, that's kind of the way I see it. It's just something that I can watch over and it's just every scene I just will watch. Yep, it's just again and a lot of people don't get Again. I go back to the kind of political commentary when he's one of those two. The two villagers are playing in the mud and the dirt is like hey old man, autonomous collective yeah, help, help, I'm being repressed.

Jamie Flanagan: 25:29

Why is he king? He's Okay. He's always King. He doesn't have poop all over him.

David Wright: 25:35

It's just stuff like that. It's just, it's just again, subtle, just underlying humor. So so that that is my top 10. You know what, if you have a different, if you, if I missed any as far, let's have a conversation, because I want to. I want to find out what your favorite funny movies are. So anything on here, jamie, that you thought of that's not on here.

Jamie Flanagan: 26:03

Uh so no, you were hitting them, it's, it's a Will Ferrell things and the Bill Murray. Oh, scrooged, oh Scrooged, okay yeah.

Announcer: 26:12

Bill Murray, oh my gosh.

Jamie Flanagan: 26:21

We just laugh so hard at that. Uh, it's, that's a good one, it's, uh, but it gets a little darker. So the like, the royal tenenbaums, and and though that whole genre uh of movies, uh, knives out, oh, knives out yeah, um, do you know?

David Wright: 26:30

do you know what? The royal tenenbaums which, which is fine, the thing I think of whenever I hear that have you ever seen that? The, uh, the outtakes, when they, when they were the, the deleted takes, where people were just freaking out on the?

Jamie Flanagan: 26:44

director, have you ever seen that?

David Wright: 26:46

no, really tomlin went off really like she wanted to kill this guy. It was just brutal yeah yeah, it was a scene in the car, I remember that, and she just went off what was the?

Jamie Flanagan: 26:59

the?

David Wright: 27:00

the sunshine of the uh unforgettable mind, or whatever, oh eternal mind, the sunshine of spotless sunshine, of the eternal mind, is that I could be right on a random. It's like dark comedy yeah right, so yeah I like those dark comedies I, I mean I do like the dark comedy. I was trying to appeal to the masses.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:21

Right.

David Wright: 27:22

But again, it's still my list, so you could have something totally different on there.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:25

Yeah yeah, yeah, see, animal House is.

David Wright: 27:30

Oh, Animal House I don't have that one.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:32

Yeah, that's. I laugh. I'm trying to think of what I laugh out loud at and I think what I laugh out loud at and what we when, what we watch over and over again.

David Wright: 27:40

Yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:41

But we watch like if it. You know Lord of the Rings is on.

David Wright: 27:44

Oh yeah, yeah, I have that here's a here's a movie I'll watch.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:48

I don't know why it's on.

Announcer: 27:50

Yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:51

I'll watch it, guilty pleasure. Joe dirt.

David Wright: 27:54

Oh, absolutely I don't.

Jamie Flanagan: 27:57

I don't know why. I think it's, I think it's well it, it just the character, but then it cause it kind of he's like a radio host interviewing him about it.

David Wright: 28:09

So, dennis Miller doing his Dennis Miller thing, you know that brings me around to it.

Jamie Flanagan: 28:15

So, but that's a guilty pleasure, is uh? Is joe dirt colleen, if somebody's getting hurt, uh, uh, or somebody gets hit, she's laughing oh like. So she loves stooges yeah but not, yeah but not, you know just uh, but that sort of thing it's like somebody somebody, somebody, somebody falls down. She's laughing Ragnarok Thor. Oh yeah, he whips that ball to break the window. Yeah, boom, it's just every time. We just laugh our butts off. We know it's coming, we wait for it and then we laugh hysterically.

David Wright: 28:55

Fantastic.

Jamie Flanagan: 28:56

Somebody's getting hurt, we're laughing at it, so yeah, that's.

David Wright: 29:02

And I will say I have to admit my guilty pleasure sometimes, just when I get lost in the YouTube vortex. It's watching people fall on ice.

Jamie Flanagan: 29:11

I don't know why?

David Wright: 29:12

I know it's cruel, I know it's mean, but I can't help but laugh that tailbone hurt. You know, hopefully nobody's seriously injured. So all right, folks, that's our top 10 funny movies. So here's the thing Go laugh at something, go watch something, read something, do something. Make you laugh. You're going to feel better. It's a great thing. It always feels good to laugh.

Jamie Flanagan: 29:36

Cause that last episode he gets into all the medical. I do yes, so, so yes, if you want to jump back to the previous episode.

David Wright: 29:42

Know what happens in your brain when you laugh? Yeah, you feel better because endorphins are released. All right, before we go folks, uh, from this funny show. Um martin needs a home. Martin was born in march of this year, so he's only a few months old. He's a mixed breed male. He'll be about 50 to 60 pounds. Dog friendly yes. Cat friendly unknown. Kid friendly yes. Activity level is medium high. Jesus martin oh, martin martin, look at that how old is he?

David Wright: 30:25

how old is he? Born in march. So three, three, three to four months. Yeah, he needs a home. Martin, detroitdogrescuecom slash adopt, martin is there?

Jamie Flanagan: 30:30

oh, jamie has one all right, that is reina yeah reina is uh one year old in june, beautiful. She just came into our life, two months ago. This is my new dog. She's just an idiot. She is wonderful. She's just like we're kind of semi of a rescue. But yeah, so Colleen was like I want a dog. We had a dog and she's been gone for five, six years. And Colleen's finally like, yeah, I'm ready to do it again. And she's a German Shepherd mix, she's beautiful.

Jamie Flanagan: 31:10

She's mixed with Pit Bull, but we don't see the pit, we see Husky or maybe something else, I don't know. But she's got a German Shepherd body and crazy ears.

David Wright: 31:20

So I'll share you what we're planning, because we do have a deposit down on a puppy. It's one of it's. I don't see if you can see that. Oh, there we go, they're focused. One of those puppies is ours, uh, and it's one of the blue ones, because ethan wants a male. They are brunadoodles, so what? So they're bernice mountain dog and poodle.

Jamie Flanagan: 31:42

Okay, all right, so that's poodles, for the nice thing about poodles is is the hair, because they have hair and not fur yes, exactly, they make them semi not totally hypoallergenic, but better yeah, so it's hair not fur, and it's really not the fur, it it's the dander.

David Wright: 31:58

Yes, exactly, potatoes, potato.

Jamie Flanagan: 32:00

But yeah, usually poodles are a little bit better for people with allergies.

David Wright: 32:05

And typically they're very intelligent. Also, it's a mixed breed dog, yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 32:10

Mixed breed dogs most often are better temperaments.

David Wright: 32:15

Yes.

Jamie Flanagan: 32:19

Yeah, you can't go wrong with a mixed breed though.

David Wright: 32:21

yeah, well, yeah and well, I mean we had our, you know, when pippin passed away. To well, it's been two years. Now it's april. Two years in april. He was a golden doodle and his temperament was fantastic. Only one time did he show that aggression.

Jamie Flanagan: 32:40

I challenged him once, and I should not have.

David Wright: 32:43

That was the owner. He had a tissue and he was guarding. You could tell, because I went to reach for it and he showed his teeth. And I'm like you, mother effer, and I went to grab it anyway, and he snapped at me. You didn't hit me, I mean he did draw blood, but it wasn't. I mean he could have tore my finger off probably, but that was the only. I mean you could pet him when he's sleeping, when he's eating. He was totally, but just that one thing. One thing set him off.

Jamie Flanagan: 33:14

She's been great, like all these fireworks.

David Wright: 33:16

Oh, nice yeah.

Jamie Flanagan: 33:19

We things she's been great, like all these fireworks. Oh nice, yeah right, fire trucks that scream by the house all the time. Um, you know she's, she's like you know, cars backfiring don't bother. Uh, somebody knocks on the door. Oh she goes nuts, yeah, but she's not barking at every. She's not a big barky dog which is great.

David Wright: 33:34

Which is great?

Jamie Flanagan: 33:35

because we'll go on a walk. And then you're walking by people's house.

David Wright: 33:37

You hear their dogs just barking just because you're walking by the house, because you're seen. I'd be like, oh my God, that would make me crazy. I know Barky dogs make me crazy.

Jamie Flanagan: 33:44

She's not a barky dog, she will bark. So yeah, so it's. Yeah, it would rain at Raina. She's a part of the that's awesome, so do it. Adopt a dog. Yeah, adopt a dog. It'll bring you laughter and joy.

David Wright: 33:58

It'll make you laugh.

David Wright: 33:59
