Celebrating Wins, Laughter, And Mental Health Progress In 2025
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Ready for a dose of proof that hope is practical? We’re closing the book on 2025 by pulling together the moments that stayed with us: a golden retriever pulled from an icy pond by quick-thinking firefighters, a delivery driver who trusted his gut and saved a life, and community stars who stepped up in quiet, meaningful ways. These stories aren’t just feel-good; they’re a playbook for how small acts ripple into big change.
We also revisit the mental health tools listeners kept using all year. Social media can be a stress amplifier, but with tighter boundaries and intentional feeds, it can deliver real connection. Laughter gets top billing because it’s a physiological reset that lowers cortisol and builds social glue, and music works just as fast—curated playlists became our go-to for focus, recovery, and comfort. Pets show up as everyday therapists, giving structure, joy, and sometimes literal lifesaving alerts. And for those curious about care beyond the usual, we share insights from our team: energy-based support like Reiki for clients who want it, plus grounded, shame-free sex therapy that treats desire, dysfunction, and trust as mental health issues with practical steps forward.
Threaded through it all is our favorite tradition: Winners of the Week. From retired police dogs returning to track down hikers to a 66-year-old finally joining a marching band, these moments prove that courage is contagious. We’re setting a new goal to bring some of these folks onto the show so we can ask the unanswered questions and go deeper than a headline ever can. If you’re here for resilience, humor, and tools you can use today, you’re in the right place.

SPEAKER_05And as we've done every episode going back to number one, text the word hypnosis to 313 800 8510. You will receive a text within a few minutes with a free hypnosis guide. It gives you an overview of hypnosis, dispel some myths and misconceptions, kind of tells you how it works. And it will also give you a link to leave a review on my business page, Motor City Hypnotist. Much appreciated if you use that and leave a review of the podcast or of a show, or if you see me individually for a session. All of those apply, all the all the reviews are the same thing or for the same business, which is Motor City Hypnotist. So check that out. And as usual, wherever you're listening, whether it's Spotify, iTunes, Stitcher, whatever it is for you, subscribe, link, connect, whatever it is on your platform. And the big thing is leave a review on that platform for the podcast. That would help me out greatly. I would greatly appreciate it. It is time, Matt. Oh, again, here's that's how win it is done. All right. Okay. This story comes out of, and I don't even know where this is, Matt. Miss Quamikat. Miss Quamikot. Fire Department. Oh, Gazintite. For a pair of main dog owners, 2026 started with a dreadful scare after their naughty golden retriever ran out onto the frozen pond and broke through the ice. Without any means of rescuing their pooch or resisting the deathly chill of the frozen water, the owners called 911 and hoped that firefighters could arrive in time. Bedecked in vibrant orange wetsuits, the emergency services got to work on the icy pond with one rescuer gently sliding across the ice and eventually paddling out to meet the dog who had done a great job keeping his head above water. The dog. Yes. In water that cold, warm-blooded animals not adapted to life in the Arctic or far north-south have mere minutes before the low temperatures bring on hypothermia. Oh my goodness. An inability to command and control the muscles and the extremities, and therefore the ability to continue to tread water. But the Goldie looked sharp and ready. Phone camera footage revealed when the rescuer arrived at the middle point of the pond, securing it around securing it around the neck, the fireman gave the signal to pull the rope attached to him, and the pair made it back to shore safely. Rescuers and dog were examined for signs of hypothermia, but there was none to be found, and all got to retire to warmer environments. The pooch to a pair of presumably relieved yet disappointed owners. No kitchen scraps for Fido this night. So here's a here's a photo of the dog in the water with the rescuer get the getting there.
SPEAKER_06So they they punish the dog for falling in the ice. Yeah, well, what a bunch of jerks.
SPEAKER_05Well, you know, he's being a bad dog. He shouldn't have gone out on the ice, dummy. He's a dog. For God. He is a dog. I get it. It's all good.
SPEAKER_06They don't understand displaced weight, okay? I I don't know if you can see the face clearly. I uh yeah, I can see it. Yeah, he's wet and he's unhappy. Help me. Help me. I'm in cold water and I'm warm-blooded. Help me out here. Come on.
SPEAKER_05So fantastic for for the Miss Quamicut fire department for rescuing a pump and rescuing the dog. Great story. Thank you. Definitely winner of the week. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01That's how win it is done. I blame the owner.
SPEAKER_05Yes, it is. Well, yeah, I was gonna say if your owner's not watching your dog, yeah.
Why Winners Of The Week Matters
SPEAKER_01So back to it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05So we're here, folks, doing a review. This is part two of 2025 year review. We typically do this at the beginning of every year, just kind of recap what we've done over the year. Something maybe you've just found the podcast recently, and then maybe there are episodes that you think, oh, I need to listen to that. Sure. You can go back and take a look. So we'll kind of cover that and talk about it.
SPEAKER_06So we're gonna we're gonna look at winners of the week. We are so you started this segment, winners of the week. Yes, and we would do it later in the episode. But you know what? We put it at the front of the episode because it is so important. We did that we we get the good stuff, the good news, the good things that happen around this globe right up front sooner than later, yeah. Right, yeah. So I I thank you for hearing me out in that regard and putting that up front. So I we it's my favorite segment every week. It's what got it, what's what gets me through, and I have something to talk about.
SPEAKER_05Well, and one of the things, Matt, we've talked about is trying to get a hold of these winners of the week. We have, and and that is in that is on my bucket list here, okay.
SPEAKER_06To do it's a resolution for this show.
SPEAKER_05It is a resolution, all right. I like it. So it's something I will work on because it'd be great to talk to some of these winners of the week because these these stories are so inspiring and so nice, and and and just gives you the better side of humanity, and we can get questions answered. Yes, because some of these articles don't answer all the questions. Absolutely. That is the frustrating thing, yeah.
SPEAKER_06But what but but but yeah, so I I I'm anxious to see what you have uh listed here for the winners.
Social Media And Mental Health
SPEAKER_05Well, well, yeah, we'll we'll get into that in just a moment. Okay, so we're talking about some of the things that we covered over the year last year as far as our podcast episodes. We talked about social media and mental health, and that is pretty applicable to most everyone because uh a vast majority of the population is on social media. I'm sorry, I was scrolling. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're on yeah, you're on Facebook looking for your likes. So, so that's a great one because social media can be a can be a great tool, but it can also be a great hindrance as far as mental health goes. So, so we we did a couple of couple of episodes on that. So, check that out. Uh we had a couple of interviews this this past year in 2025. Morrigan from my office, who's a therapist with us. Yep, she's a reiki healer, a psychic. Uh there's something else I'm not gonna remember. Was it was it of a sexual persuasion? No, no, okay, no, not yet. We'll get to that. Oh, okay. I I know it was in there something. Morgan, Morrigan is a psychic and a Reiki healer, and a lot of people are looking for therapists with those credentials. So, definitely, if that's something that that would interest you, definitely give our office a call because she's available, she has openings, she'd be happy to see you.
SPEAKER_06It's almost like a homeopathic type healing.
Team Interviews: Reiki And Therapy
SPEAKER_05It's the Reiki that's more aura, is it? It's auras and and Reiki, and there's specific Reiki in your body, and and and and I have to plead ignorance somewhat to this. I mean, I'm familiar with it, but it's not my area of expertise. Okay, it's definitely hers. So, definitely if that's something for you that that that appeals to you, she's a great therapist for you. Uh we also had an interview with Terika from my office, who is a certified sex therapist. There it is. And she works with people with sexual dysfunctions or sexual issues, and most of these things relate back to mental health. Do you remember that's where it all connects?
SPEAKER_06Do you remember that show Dear John? I do. Yeah, do you remember the therapist in that? I do. Do you remember her uh first question to every new person that would come in and sit down? I I don't, but her first question was, Do you have any sexual problems?
Sex Therapy And Mental Health
SPEAKER_05But here's the thing with Terrica, because people think, Well, what does a sex therapist do? Do they you know I there are a lot of misconceptions about what that really entails, yes, and it really is looking at just the mental health of sex and why people have sexual dysfunctions and why people may have issues, why people have affairs. It a lot of that is all involved, but but it all comes down to mental health and self-esteem issues. So definitely, if that's something you're dealing with, Terrica's definitely the therapist for you. So definitely she has openings and she's accepting people as well. We had an episode on laughter and mental health. We we did a lot of we talked a lot about that on how healthy laughter is, and just being able to enjoy yourself and just it's a it's impossible to be impossible to be unhappy when you're laughing. It really is.
SPEAKER_06You're not wrong, and you and I share a lot of laughs. And oh, we do. And the gentleman sitting down next to me, yeah, Jamie. Jamie, hello. Uh yeah, he he says cheers. He's gonna turn his mic up here in a second, but I'll tell you, we share a lot of laughs in here, and and again, we take care of ourselves. This is our mental health, we do, our our mental break, if you will. But that's a good point.
SPEAKER_05The good point, Matt, that you bring up is I wanted to make this podcast not very not boring and clinical and droning. Like most of the mental health podcasts you see out there, that they use a lot of psycho babble and they they talk very good.
SPEAKER_07I know that girl.
SPEAKER_04You're in this, you're in this, see, right there, right there.
SPEAKER_05Too soon, you're in the shame spirit.
SPEAKER_00It's been it's been shit. You're in the shame spiral, you know.
SPEAKER_05You're having these psychoses, yeah. And it's just a lot of it get again, it gets just in the weeds with a lot of the just psycho babble, which I don't like. And I wanted to make this podcast something that was fun and something uplifting and something that makes you feel good.
SPEAKER_06So definitely laughter is huge. I'm gonna bring Jamie up to speed. Yeah, we we're doing a 2025 year in review, 2025. So right now we're we're we're kind of focused on the winners of the we're gonna get to the winners of the second.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, your winners have been that's only one of my favorite parts is how you highlight.
SPEAKER_05Yes, I know.
SPEAKER_04But whenever I fill in for Matthew, it's like it's like it's it is it's it's it's joyful. It's yes, but it's joyful.
Laughter As Mental Health Fuel
SPEAKER_06But you've been with us, you've been with podcast your voice for shoot five years, six years 2019. Well, we started we started the year of COVID, yeah. 2020. Yeah, 2020. So we're we're going on six years, yes, and and you being a a part of this program, the podcast your voice, yeah, and the support that you give us and we give you. Oh god, yeah, we share so many laughs here. Absolutely, we cannot we have a great time, but yeah, laughter is is really the basis of this podcast because we have fun and we do, we talk about serious things, and that's the whole point.
SPEAKER_05You can talk about serious things and still have a humor and good nature and feel good, yeah. And and and that's the whole thing. I I don't want therapy to be something that's just dreading, like, oh no, I have to no, this is something that can make you better, it can make you feel better.
SPEAKER_04It's just so what I like about a lot of podcasts, sometimes you're the third person in a in a conversation with two people, watching the conversation happen and enjoying it with them. Yeah, uh-huh. And and and and sometimes, you know, you're in it, and and and you're screaming at the at the at the radio, and and and and you're you're a part of it. And so many times when you guys are talking, I'm off to the side and I'm just screaming and I'm talking. You're saying something, and I agree with so many of the things you say. It's it's fun to it's fun to be part. It's it's a it's a it's a family thing.
SPEAKER_05It's not a it's not yeah, it's not painful, it's not like drudgery, it's not just like yeah. So thank you for no absolutely you guys have fun. Yeah, yeah, we do. And in the episode we did after laughter and mental health. Do you remember, Matt? We did our our 10 funniest movies. We counted down, and every once in a while we'll throw in a top 10 list that applies to one of the things we're talking about.
SPEAKER_06We did our top 10 songs, we did our top set, but we did our top 10 funniest movies, and you know, Caddyshack was in there.
SPEAKER_05Caddyshack was in there, Spinal Tap was in there, Ferris Bueller was in there. Uh side note, did you guys watch Spinal Tap 2? No, I did not. Oh, okay. Do we have to?
SPEAKER_04I did not.
SPEAKER_05You should just to kind of complete the cycle, sure. Definitely was not as if it was not the original because you knew what to expect, sure.
Top Ten Funniest Movies Throwback
SPEAKER_04You know, so but it was still good. Did they make stone tens on the right side? Yeah, they did fair play. Yes, yes, you know, stone 10 right side.
SPEAKER_05That was one of the big issues there. Can we make this big stone the right size for Christ's sakes?
SPEAKER_04All right.
SPEAKER_05We talked about uh we did an episode on bipolar disorder, just talking about what that is and how it affects people. What what'd you call me? I'm I'm sorry, go ahead. We and here's a great one because you know a lot of our and and you'll know it, and I missed it on last episode. We didn't do our our dog rescue of the week. Oh, and I totally missed it last episode. So we're gonna do two this episode to make up for it.
SPEAKER_04Who lit the dogs up?
SPEAKER_05The reason I talk about that is we did an episode on specifically on pets and mental health, how that can help your mental health, also the stressors it can resolve. Now, I'll I'll talk a little bit a side note on a personal issue. We've had our dog for six months now. I I wanted to ask you, but I didn't know if it was a sensitive topic. No, it's not a sensitive topic. He's still a puppy, he's only six months old. Sure he's potty trained, so he's potty trained, totally potty trained, but he gets into these these he gets into these these moods where he just wants something and you don't know what it is, and he'll just like jump and nip and and and grab hold and try to bite.
SPEAKER_06Have you have you done anything to figure out what he's trying to get to? I I I I think it's just over over stimulation.
Bipolar Basics Explained
SPEAKER_04I think well, and then we're in these cold winter months where it's harder to take them out. Yes, I mean it's like bitter cold. I mean, okay, I can bundle up, but then I don't want your little paws on that that ice for that long. Yeah, and then slipping and sliding. My dog, she was like, she like actually was limping for like a day because she like like skidded, she skidded out, right? And and I was like, see, dummy, yeah, yeah how about you how about you take a doggy downer. We walk outside, we walk outside calmly, we take a pee, we walk back in calmly. How do you not know that I told you on the way out? I don't know if she just doesn't listen.
SPEAKER_05I don't know if you're listening, Jamie, to our last episode. But our winner of the week last episode was a dog rescued on a lake that fell through the ice. I was at this episode, oh fair place dismissed it. So yeah, because Matt said, Well, why would the owners be mad? It's a dog, and I'm like, he should have been on the ice and dummy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I didn't I I blame the owners for the water. Oh, you did, yeah, you did. You did.
SPEAKER_04But just even the slippery, slidey driveway, and she like sprains herself, and it's like so this is your puppy's so yeah, this is your puppy's first winner.
SPEAKER_06It's challenge, challenge. Your puppy's really first winner with a little bit of three and a half, yeah, yeah. So you know, they're they're not you they don't know what snow is, they've never seen it before, they don't know what it feels like for those what for those paws to be on the ice. Yeah, so you you introduce it to them slowly, and you don't just let them go no holes barred, you know, out.
SPEAKER_05You know, you don't know. I just let them out. I'm like, come back when you're done.
SPEAKER_04I I don't know, you know. I'll pick it up later.
Pets, Stress, And Winter Puppies
SPEAKER_05You know, I have to give credit to myself.
SPEAKER_04I don't I don't have a fence yard, so I guess oh I have a fenced yard, so I can just let him out. Oh, yeah, no.
SPEAKER_05Figure it out. I will say this tell me about that joy my son handles nine 90% of the care of the dog. I I am so happy to hear that. He stays, he sleeps in his room, he gets him up in the morning.
SPEAKER_06He l it's his it's his dog that warms totally and completely. So the other the other the other ten percent is the vet bills.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, the food. Bag of food is a checkbook.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's uh the damn bag of food is 70 bucks. Chris. That's for a 12-ounce bag. Yeah. Oh, it's a big bag, but it's a lot. I'm kidding, but still. Uh, we did an episode on music and mental health. Music can help you have with your mental health.
SPEAKER_06Have you listened to any of the songs that I shared?
SPEAKER_05Yes, absolutely. I have.
SPEAKER_06Spunk Shine. Yeah. Smoked. Did you listen to that? I don't think I listened to Smoked.
SPEAKER_05I have the list with me. I have it somewhere. I think it might be in my office.
SPEAKER_06Spunk Shine. It's called Smoked. Okay. Smoked. Okay. It puts you in that state. So I'm I I listened to it. I need to go Google that. Yeah, I listened to a few of your songs, Dave. Oh, good. Totally get where you're coming from.
SPEAKER_05Well, and and that that brings us to the next episode, which was favorite songs. We'd have a top 10 list on favorite songs.
SPEAKER_04What was your number one?
SPEAKER_05End up being um, probably I'm trying to remember what was number one. Probably Knights of Sidonia by Muse.
SPEAKER_06Do you know that? Do you know the song? No. Foxy Years. Oh, my my number one song? It was it was Spunk Shine.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05I did have a couple other close to number one. Andor what in Rome? The promise.
SPEAKER_04Fair play. Um, do you want to play me?
SPEAKER_05Doobie brothers. Oh, I I'm drawing a total blank on the song.
SPEAKER_04Or cowbell.
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_04There was cowbell in it, I'm sure.
SPEAKER_05Why can't I think of the favorite song? I have to go back and listen to it. Okay. All right. That's okay. I won't think of it right now.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the spot.
SPEAKER_05We had a ton of winners of the week. Every episode we have a winners of the week. Let's hit on some highlights of those. Come on, you gotta bring it. The old retired police dog who came back in service to find a hiker.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I do remember that.
SPEAKER_05Do you remember that one?
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_05A boy got his foot stuck in his spokes of his wheel on his bike. The firefighters cut the wheel off and then brought him a new bike.
SPEAKER_06Oh I vaguely remember that. I like that. That was like towards the beginning of the year.
SPEAKER_05If I'm not I like that. Yeah, it was. It was early. It was early in the year.
SPEAKER_04Man, firefighters. Tell you what, man. You get the whole cop versus firefighter thing. I gotta love me some firefighters. Oh, yeah. I like cops. Absolutely. I do I appreciate all the law enforcement.
SPEAKER_05Actually, my my brother's a cop. I have a brother-in-law who's a cop.
SPEAKER_04But firefighters, yeah, they a little something, something there.
SPEAKER_06They're a little extra.
SPEAKER_04A little extra extra. You know what?
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna run to the firefighters, a little extra extra. They all run to the danger, but there's a little bit of extra when they're running to the danger, you know. Oh, absolutely.
SPEAKER_04And and yeah, they're yeah, irregardless, there's danger. Yeah, yeah. All right.
SPEAKER_05This was a great story. A mechanic who could not read learns to read at age 58.
SPEAKER_04Nice. See, Matt, there's hope.
SPEAKER_05He gets to enjoy a magazine he's had for 40 years.
SPEAKER_04He's had a dear forum.
SPEAKER_05He's had this magazine for 40 years. Dear forum, he could he could always sorry, I took it there. Oh great, Odin Drake.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, thank god I sat down at the microphone. That escalated quick.
SPEAKER_07I mean, that really got out of hand. Played Lisa.
SPEAKER_0458 and finally.
SPEAKER_06There's hope. Yes, there is hope for me yet. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_05Oh, a pet a pub owner adopted a dog when it came into the bar after its owner died.
SPEAKER_06I love that story. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_05The dog lives at the bar.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yes, it's fantastic. He had no home. He walked into a pub, and the owner of the pub was said, Hey, it's our dog now. You're my dog now.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Okay. Let me trying to think of some some great ones. I just listed all of them just to kind of seem. Oh, Steve Carell stepped up. We we have a lot of stories about actors who do great things. Was that for uh middle school or was that for no? It was for wildfires. Okay, yep, yep. Steve Carell tells students affected by wildfires that prom tickets are paid for.
SPEAKER_06That's right, that's right. That's what it was for.
SPEAKER_05That's paid for all paid for the whole high school's prom. Yep.
SPEAKER_06Did you see Hugh Jackman last year? He did something, and his new song, Song Sung Blue. Is that the name of the movie? Movie, uh and he walked into a high school in a choir room. There's a choir room, and he came in and he sang the song from the movie, and then he gifted instruments and stuff to the entire school. It was it was a card.
SPEAKER_04They thought it the thing of the setup was it was like a video message. That's right. He was like, he was like, Hey, I'm Hugh, thanks for supporting the movie, and it's great. Let me hear you sing. And so they start singing, but they're just singing to a TV and a video message. He left, and then he walks in the walks in oh, fantastic.
SPEAKER_05That would have been a winner of the week. Yeah, I've seen that.
SPEAKER_04It was for it was it was a it was it was it was a really cool look. Yes, for sure.
Favorite Songs And Why They Stick
SPEAKER_05As a Neil Diamond fan, yes. It's amazing how many of these actors can sing. Like, I don't know if I've seen Ewan McGregor in like uh Moulin Rouge. Oh, yeah. I mean, it's it's crazy. But he yeah, he was like so talented. He was on he was on Broadway. Well, yeah, yeah. The hero delivery driver who saved a woman's life after a feeling made him go go back to her home and look in the window again. Do you remember that one? I do. He was delivering something and there was no answer at the door. Yeah, he kind of gazed in and he just felt something was off. He didn't see anything, but he went back and she had she had passed out in her house.
SPEAKER_06He had a sixth, he had a sixth sense about him on that point. There we had so many garbage.
SPEAKER_05This was this uh this was a great one. A boy bid farewell to the garbage man after years of heartwarming weekly chats. The garbage man retired, yes, and he was done with the route.
SPEAKER_06This young man would wait for the garbage man to come and pick up their trash every single week, and he was so enthralled with the the garbage truck.
SPEAKER_04Little little boys are in enthralled with like big industrial machinery, the garbage trucks going by, but he was big industrial machinery.
SPEAKER_06They love it, but he he he befriended the garbage man, and the garbage man befriended this young this young man, and they became really bad friends. Yes, and when he retired, the little the didn't he give him something? What did he get? Do you remember what the little boy gave him? I don't remember. He did give him something.
SPEAKER_04No, I think it was a garbage truck of some sort.
SPEAKER_07Like a chicken.
SPEAKER_04I'm sorry. Probably very something sweet. Like a what the fuck is it? Probably like a really cool dump truck. It was probably pretty cool. Probably not actual garbage. Probably not actual garbage.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I mean, maybe maybe they've thrown out old equipment or something.
Standout Winners: Heroes And Helpers
SPEAKER_04I'm actual garbage. That's come on, guys. It's so simple.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you need a refresher course. Sorry. It's all ball bearings nowadays.
SPEAKER_04Oh man.
SPEAKER_05Um sorry.
SPEAKER_04Sorry.
SPEAKER_05Two-legged chihuahua saves owners' life by detecting a heart attack.
SPEAKER_04Two-legged.
SPEAKER_05Yes. He only had two legs. His name is Scooch. Yeah, his name is Crawl. I don't know. His name's Lucky.
SPEAKER_07What in babies are you talking about?
SPEAKER_05Oh, here's a here's another we do a lot of animal stories on winners of the week because I because I love animals.
SPEAKER_07We love animals, yes.
SPEAKER_05Hero service dog senses owners a regular heartbeat saving the veteran from a catastrophic stroke.
SPEAKER_06I do remember that one. Yes, I do remember that one. Yes. He laying on his chest and he's like, something ain't right. Bark, bark, bark, bark, and yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. We talked about we talked about mountain climbing last episode because we had a winner of the week who was a double amputee who climbed all the seven summits. Rugby team carries a wheelchair bound dad up a Snowden plank, fulfilling his lifelong dream. That was in October, I think.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it was later in the year. Yeah, it was like a foot. It was the rugby team. Yeah, they carried him up because it was yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, this this this one was another animal story, but bittersweet, but it was a great story. TikTok reveals restaurants' viral compassion after he ordered his dog's last meal.
SPEAKER_06Yes, I do remember that one.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that was a tough one.
SPEAKER_06That was a tough one. It was a lab, too, if I'm not mistaken.
SPEAKER_04I've had a couple friends who like if they have their friend, if they have their critters on their way out, they'll take them out for like this massive steak dinner.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and they just buy them like this is when when our last dog was kind of in his and they just they just buy him this like$40 book. We would just give them, we would just give them whatever food he wants. Yeah, it's just hey, whatever.
SPEAKER_04What do you want?
SPEAKER_05You know, you're gonna fridge is open.
SPEAKER_04We made it's for you, buddy.
SPEAKER_06We got the bacon grease, it's under the sink, it's all yours, buddy.
SPEAKER_04Go on, yeah.
SPEAKER_06This was another thing.
SPEAKER_04They serve us well.
SPEAKER_05So clean the litter box. Go ahead. Since I'm only 60, the 66-year-old man fulfills a lifelong dream and becomes the oldest member of the LSU marching band. That was later in the year as well. That was later in the year. That was cool, yeah. It was during football season. Yeah, yeah, that's an awesome one.
SPEAKER_04There, whatever reason he had that he like left college, yeah, and and then finally came.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he just had a dream of being in the marching band. Wasn't he? Six years old. Was it a tuba? Was he a tuba? I think yes, I believe so. It's not a tuba, yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's not a tuba. Sorry.
SPEAKER_05Oh, great.
SPEAKER_06Oh driven. You find these stories, Dave, and and they continue to inspire and awe us in so many different ways. And we we remember them because they they struck a chord, right? We're talking a year ago where some of these stories they struck a chord.
SPEAKER_05They still I mean we could go back five years and look at some of these stories, and that and again, that's one of my I don't think you're in your J May's home. Matt, one of our big things, one of our resolutions is to get a hold of some of these winners and see if we can get them on the show. Oh, that would be sure fantastic. If we will definitely work on that because we have questions because a lot of these articles, they leave you, they leave you like wait, what what happened?
SPEAKER_04It's a lot of clickbait. And and it's like, and then is and but here's the thing is uh realist, yes. It's a good, it's a good, it's a good 50-50 when someone were like, Yeah, no, that one nothing. But then sometimes you talk to them and the story goes so much deeper, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Right, a lot more.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, right. There's a lot, there's stories out there to tell.
SPEAKER_05Yes, absolutely. And that's what winner is.
SPEAKER_04Go get those stories. That's what winner is.
SPEAKER_05Maybe we should do a new podcast, just call it winners of the week. Get those stories. Hey, it's a new year. Maybe, maybe that's on the agenda. I I've got some time. Yeah, hey, we'll we'll see. I mean, you know, maybe we do maybe do an hour and a half recording one night on Mondays or whatever. Oh boy, yeah, pull them in.
SPEAKER_04Pull them in. That's like, oh shit, no. That's a good call.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it's a good call. I I'm gay, I am game. Let's go. The other, and and I'll I'll put this out on air since you're both here. The other idea I have because I've been I've been locked into these models lately.
SPEAKER_06Are you listening, Jamie?
SPEAKER_05Is is doing like a a scale model podcast for people who are into modeling.
SPEAKER_06You got the table for it.
SPEAKER_05Fantastic. At home, I do, and at work. At work, I do. I don't have one at home.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's at work for sure.
SPEAKER_05You can that's what I love about this industry of podcasting, is it could be about well, and I've said that even when I promote podcast your voice, it doesn't matter what your interest is, there's a niche out there.
SPEAKER_04There is what is your passion?
SPEAKER_05Yes, what do you like? What do you enjoy?
SPEAKER_04If you are passionate enough about it, yep, somebody else there will be enough people out there to share those thoughts with.
SPEAKER_06Absolutely. When the actor that portrayed Will Robinson comments on your oh good god, was that yours?
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes, did you? Yeah, Bill Mummy, yes.
SPEAKER_05I was like, Oh my god, no, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_04Did you talk about that earlier? Yes, we didn't know.
SPEAKER_05We did talk about it a little bit, but Jamie just to get you up to speed. I don't want to extend this, but I fried one of my circuit boards, so all my lighting went out, so I'm in the midst now of finding the culprit, the culprit, and getting everything working again.
SPEAKER_06It's like Apollo 13.
SPEAKER_05He's got to find the you know, this so many amps when you flip this model upside down, it is like a a just spaghetti of wires everywhere.
SPEAKER_04So we gotta wait, we gotta challenge. It's like there's so many comic cons and things. The the the Bill, I'm uh he comes to town here and there.
SPEAKER_05Oh, he does, yeah. He'll show up every once in a while. Next time, Billy. I don't know if you guys do guys do you follow him on Facebook, he's a musician as well. Oh, fair play. No, no, do you know that he I don't know if you guys remember the song fish heads. Fish heads, fish.
