Signature Books, founded in 1981, publishes some of the best books in Mormon studies. We specialize in narrative and documentary history, biography, fiction, poetry, and Western Americana. Our books have received numerous honors over the years from the Mormon History Association, the John Whitmer Historical Association, the Utah State Historical Society, and the Evans Biography Award. This podcast will include interviews with Signature Books authors from both our new releases and some of the significant books from our backlist.

In episode 5, Barbara Jones Brown, new company director of Signature Books, and the first woman to hold this position, introduces herself to listeners and shares her thoughts about the company and her vision for its future. She also discusses her background and her own work in Mormon history. Not only is she co-author of a forthcoming book on the Mountain Meadows Massacre, but for four years she served as executive director of the Mormon History Association. Thus, she is well known and highly respected within the Mormon scholarly community. She comes along at a time when the publishing world is both exciting and challenging in unprecedented ways. But Brown is clearly up to the job!
