What is the best motivation for athletes? 🏆
In this episode, I break down the different types of motivation in sports and show you how to discover what truly drives you as an athlete.
We’ll start by defining motivation and why it’s the inspiration behind both your training and your game-time performance. You’ll learn the difference between intrinsic motivation (playing for the love of the game) and extrinsic motivation(playing for rewards, recognition, or results).
I’ll share examples of two athletes who are driven by completely different things—so you can see how powerful it is to understand your own “why.” From there, you’ll learn how to craft a motivation statement (your personal why statement) that keeps you focused and driven all season long.
For athletes who lean more on extrinsic motivation, I’ll explain how to use outcome goals the right way—by letting them fuel your focus on the process. Finally, we’ll cover how to turn your motivation into daily habits so your drive isn’t something you feel only on game day, but something that guides you every day in training and competition.
If you’ve ever asked yourself what is the best motivation for athletes, this video will give you the clarity and tools to answer that question for yourself.
