IBDetermined

Created to discuss living with Crohn's disease and made for adults, kids, teens, and families to encourage them to find ways to overcome obstacles, small and large. We will invite guests from multiple perspectives to give us insight on how they have handled challenges and what they did to get through them. Some episodes will focus on open and honest discussions about Crohn's disease from a caregiver and patient perspective. We will talk to others with IBD, chronic illnesses, and life changing situations people have learned to navigate. Hosted by a mom and son duo who had their lives flipped upside down with a severe Crohn's disease diagnosis. They are living their best lives and helping others survive and thrive by creating awareness and finding empowerment.

Mason Harvey

At the age of 11, Mason was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. His one wish after diagnosis was to help others with this disease and find better treatments. In the past 3 years since his diagnosis, Mason has served as the Mission Speaker for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation 2021 Gala, served as the emcee/host for the 2022 Gala, authored and illustrated a children's book, participated on Team Survivor with the San Diego Blood Bank, and helped his mom run a business where they help raise funds with sales for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Mason is now 14 and dedicated to helping others find happiness in a tough diagnosis.

Michelle Harvey

Michelle Harvey is a caregiver to her son, Mason, with Crohn's disease. She is married to her husband of over 20 years, and together they have learned to navigate the many hurdles chronic illness brings to a family. She runs 2 businesses, is an author, raises awareness for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, and believes in helping others by empowering them. Born and raised in Southern California, Michelle's life changed with her son's diagnosis. The family made an effort to fight together and help their son achieve his goals.
