Gratitude for Mothers - 5 Minute Meditation for Kids: This mindfulness and breathing exercise expresses gratitude and appreciation for mother figures in our lives. 

Gratitude for our mothers, care givers, and even mother earth, is a powerful way to feel love for those women in our lives. Take the time to feel that love in your heart as you rest in your breath. 

Mindfulness is an important theme in 'The Paper Girls Show'. Together with "Making" and "Mistakes", they create the "3 M's of The Paper Girls Show", which serve as the series' pillars. 
 "Make things Mindfully – don't sweat your Mistakes", as our mantra goes!
 
 The goal of this series is to help guide children through mindful breathing techniques, visualizations, and positive affirmations to self-soothe and use throughout the day when needed.

Mothers and all those who care for us are super special. How blessed we are to have women all over the world who act with love and care. Not only do we have caring women in our lives, but Mother Earth herself shows us her love and care by nurturing us every day. 


Let us take a moment to feel gratitude for the women in our lives who care for us and love us. 


Let us be still for a few moments and close our eyes. Imagine growing roots down into the earth like a tree. Let yourself be held in love by Mother Earth. 


Let us take a long slow deep breath in through our nose, and slowly exhale that breath out of our mouth. Again, take another long, slow deep breath in through your nose, and slowly release that breath out of your mouth. 


Let us imagine the words:

“Thank you for the people who care for me.” Say these words silently in your mind and in your throat. Silently say, “Thank you for the people who care for me” with each inhale or exhale of your breath. “Thank you for the people who care for me.”

 

As thoughts start to pop into your head, just let the thoughts pass by as if they are clouds and gently come back to repeating the words, “Thank you for the people who care for me.”


Place your hand over your heart and put a big smile on your face. When you are ready, open your eyes. 


Be sure to say thank you to a caregiver today, as well as thanking Mother Earth for nurturing us every day.
