Making Mistakes - 5 Minute Meditation for Kids
Making Mistakes - 5 Minute Meditation for Kids: This mindfulness and breathing exercise encourages listeners to embrace their mistakes and foster a growth mindset.
Everyone makes mistakes in life. While it may not seem like it at the time, mistakes can actually be viewed as a gift since they often help place us on a path to greatness. Mistakes are also part and parcel of growing up and the learning process associated with it. When children learn to see the value of mistakes and view them as opportunities to try again, they learn to trust themselves and gain self-confidence.
Mindfulness is an important theme in 'The Paper Girls Show'. Together with "Making" and "Mistakes", they create the "3 M's of The Paper Girls Show", which serve as the series' pillars. "Make things Mindfully – don't sweat your Mistakes", as our mantra goes!
The goal of this series is to help guide children through mindful breathing techniques, visualizations, and positive affirmations to use throughout the day when needed.
Our practices contain:
🧘♀️ Mindful breathing exercises for kids
😊 Positive affirmations for kids

Making mistakes is part of growing up. It is one of the ways we learn, because when we make mistakes, we learn how to approach something differently. This helps us become a better version of ourselves.
Mistakes can feel frustrating. It’s also easy to get down on yourself when you make one, but instead of feeling badly about a mistake, try thinking of it as a gift. Yes, a gift. A gift shows you a new way of doing things.
So next time you make a mistake, try not to get frustrated. Simply recognize the mistake as a learning opportunity and just know it’s a part of growing up.
Now, let’s sit quietly with our eyes closed for a few minutes, so that we can feel our breath. If you want to keep your eyes open, just gaze at the floor or above you.
Take a deep breath in through your nose, and slowly breathe out through your mouth.
Again, another deep breath in through your nose, and slowly exhale the breath out of your mouth.
Now just feel your breath for a few moments.
Notice how it feels when you breathe normally.
Do you breathe in and out of your mouth, in and out of your nose, or a combination of the two? Just feel your body breathe for you.
Let us bring the words, “I learn and grow every day”, to mind, and let us silently say these words with each breath in and each breath out. I learn and grow every day. I learn and grow every day.
If any distracting thoughts come into your mind, just let them pass by as if they are clouds.
Then just come back to your positive words, I learn and grow every day. I learn and grow every day.
Take a long, slow, deep breath in through your nose, and slowly exhale out of your mouth. You continue to learn and grow every day, and remember – mistakes are what you make on the way to something great. You are a gift to this world.
