Episode 54: Colleen Mock- From Hiking 14ers to Training for Her First Ultra & the Learnings Along the Way
In this episode of the Run Breiter Podcast, Sam brings on his girlfriend Colleen. Colleen has ambitious goals, including running the Leadville 100 one day. Over the past year, she has dedicated herself to building her endurance. From incline hiking to tackling 14er hikes across Colorado, she has been climbing mountains and making it look easy. Additionally, she recently started competing in races again, which included a 10k, half marathon, and pacing a runner for 26 miles during the 2023 Leadville 100, where she and Sam first met. She is now in training for the Austin Rattler 50k, which will take place in early November.
Although all of this may sound intense, Colleen has been taking her endurance training seriously for about a year now. She serves as a prime example of how quickly you can learn about running when you take action and learn from others in the sport. If you're a beginner with big dreams, this episode will be perfect for you!
