Episode 56- The Austin Rattler 50k Recap: My Epic Trail Fail
In this episode, Run Breiter provides a comprehensive recap of the Austin Rattler 50k. This race marked Sam's first ultramarathon, covering a distance of approximately 31 miles. The event unfolded on diverse and challenging terrains, including wooded trails and mountainous paths.
Sam hadn't anticipated participating in this race at the beginning of the year. However, with his girlfriend Colleen expressing interest, he decided to pace her for as long as possible. Given that this race occurred just four weeks after the St. George Marathon, and with no specific training for such an event, Run Breiter had little idea of what to expect. Throughout this episode, you'll gain insights into the race day experience, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. It's safe to say that this race didn't unfold according to plan, but from Run Breiter's perspective, there are valuable lessons to be learned – perhaps not only about running but about embracing the unexpected.
