Episode 60- My Uncensored Experience With Asthma, and How Runners Should Approach This!
In this episode, Run Breiter is motivated to share some tips and advice on how to cope with asthma. This winter, his asthma has been a significant struggle due to the challenges of moving to Colorado and being in the cold, dry elevation. These conditions have led to multiple asthma attacks, causing Sam consistent shortness of breath, wheezing, and coughing episodes, posing a challenge for his training.
Sam shares his complete history of asthma, discussing when it has affected him the most and how he has resolved such issues in the past. He also outlines his plan for addressing and overcoming these challenges moving forward. Additionally, Sam recounts his worst asthma attack, lasting for 16 hours, which resulted in inflamed lungs and necessitated a week-long prednisone prescription, along with the struggles associated with that experience.
While this episode offers value to any runner, it is particularly beneficial for those contemplating running with concerns about asthma or struggling runners dealing with asthma. The insights shared will help individuals handle asthma proactively, ensuring consistent training and the ability to Run for Life!
