Speaker 1:

Hello, happy new year, happy 2024. I hope you had a healthy and joy filled time with your family and friends this holiday season. Man, it comes as quickly as it goes, doesn't it? And I have to say this was quite a magical one, watching our sweet nearly nine month old experience her first Christmas. But it was also a little nutty, as we decided to give our kitchen a DIY refresh, with a new backsplash painted the walls we're in the midst of still painting the cabinets and, of course, doing all of this in the middle of Christmas time. So put the grandparents to work watching Kennedy and we did a bunch of things in the kitchen. It's still a hot mess in there. That just means we decided to do some instant pot cooking for Christmas meals. But honestly, it feels so good to be nearing the finish line with that project and some things just need a refresh from time to time and to feel re-inspired and to love the space that you're in, and our kitchen is one space in our house that we haven't really touched at all since we moved into our house in 2021. And so it just felt good to do a little bit of work to make the space that we spend so much time in even more so now with Kennedy and hosting friends and family over to make it feel more us. So, with all of the work around the house and hosting this year, we decided to relax on New Year's Eve. Did not make it to midnight, did not Usually don't I feel like the past couple of years but we wanted to relax and think about what we envisioned 2024 to be. And New Year exercises kind of always help put me and I'm not talking about physical exercises, these are like mindset exercises. Let me give some context there. They helped me put like the right mindset for myself into the year ahead. So in this episode I wanted to share with you my personal New Year mindset exercises, and maybe one or two will resonate and be helpful as you start your year as well. And also, Daniel and I have started a ritual of being outside when we do a few of these exercises, usually around a fire pit to write our goals, and then on New Year's Day, for the past two years we've done a New Year's hike which I think is becoming a new favorite tradition with local friends of ours and just to talk about our goals. They're also business owners and it's just really nice to get out and walk and be in nature and experience the beautiful New Year. So I wanna share with you four different exercises, and then I wanna share also things that I'm planning and how we can work together this year. So, exercise number one I always pick a word of the year. I'm not really a resolution type of person, but my word of the year is something I try and stick with and I put it next to where I work and it embodies my whole year personally and professionally. And this year I was between three words cultivate, attract and possibility and I ended up landing on the word attract, and I love this because I have a new hire that's gonna be working for me this year, which is very exciting and really trying to do some growth in business, growth personally, and so I wanted to pick a word that could really embody all of that, and so attract seemed perfect. I wanna attract abundance, joy. I wanna attract good health, aligned partnerships, Attract amazing podcast guests for the show. I wanna attract the right speaking opportunities and great clients and really, overall, I just wanna attract good energy, good vibes for 2024. So that's the first thing I always do, is I try and pick a word of the year. The second exercise, which just went brand new, shout out to my friend, Elise, who shared it on Instagram, and I really loved it, and it's creating an in and out list. So what this is is you create things that you wanna bring in to the air and things that you wanna let go and you wanna say bye, peace, out to things on your list. So on my Instagram I shared these. I'll probably also share them on LinkedIn too, but just a couple of examples. My ins I wanted a healthy and strong body. In is reading more, getting involved in my local community, going on dates with my husband, delegating things, challenging myself, being the best mom I can be and getting some girl time in. Things that I want out are comparing myself, having FOMO, endlessly scrolling, trying to do everything, rushing. I tend to do this when I think I'm going to get just like a short nap from Kennedy. I try and do a bunch of things, which also leans into. I try and fill every minute. I'm not very good at relaxing and sitting down and out, trying to have out working on weekends, so I love having it in and out list. So that's exercise number two. Number three have to give credit to my friend Tiffany Napper for this. We did a little brainstorm session before the end of the year and she asked kind of this mini mastermind group that I'm a part of. She asked what will make 2024 the best year yet. So I consider exercise three to journaling questions. So, for you, what would make this year the best year yet, Like what would need to happen to make that possible? And number two after you write those things, ask yourself the second question who do you need to become to make that happen? Which is really interesting, which kind of goes hand in hand with the end and the outs. So again, exercise three what will make 2024 the best year yet and who do you need to become to make that happen? And lastly, number exercise number four this is something new that we're going to be doing this year is to get a mason jar or whatever kind of jar you have in your home and each week write down something awesome that happened and put it in the jar and at the end of the year you'll have 52 memories to look back on and celebrate, and I think what we'll probably end up doing is throwing each of the memories in the fire pit. But I think this was. I love this because there's so many things that we just forget in the busyness of life, and it can be super small things, but just to remember that there's celebrations every single week, every single day, of things that we're doing. So those are the four. The word of the year end and out list, what will make 2020 your best year your journal exercises and for the Mason jar list. So I hope those are exciting for you and stir up some conversation. And then, lastly, I just wanted to share how can we work together this year. I'd love to work with you. Thank you so much for being a listener of missions to movements. If you are somebody who is interested in growing or building your monthly giving program, my mastermind my monthly giving mastermind program is going to start in February. It's coming up, so applications are open. You can head to positive equationcom and find all the details about it. Also, if you're somebody here like I, already have a program. I don't need one completely built out. I also have a new VIP day where it's like a tuneup day so we can talk through your existing monthly giving program. We're going to all work through emails with you. We can do updates on your page. We can do updates to optimize your donation tool Anything that you prioritize that we can get done in a day together. We will do that. So that's available to the grow your list ads challenge. This was so much fun last year. It's 100 growing your email list by 100 emails in just seven days using Facebook and Instagram ads. So I'm going to launch this challenge twice, once in the spring and once in the fall. Again, all the details are on my website. So this is a small group challenge where I will walk you through the process of running lead generation ads to grow your email list on using Facebook and Instagram ads. Small list. I review your ads, I review your copy, I go step by step through the whole backend of ads manager and we do it together Super fun. Number three if your organization is looking to update your digital marketing and really understand what's working about your website, what's not optimizing your online donation tools, getting somebody to look at your social media, somebody to look at like your email list kind of like soup to nuts I do. I don't really talk about this actively a lot, but I do customize digital marketing audits and workshops for individual teams. So if that is something of interest to you, I spend a couple weeks going through a bunch of data points, put together a presentation and we jump on a two hour workshop together where I dive through my findings and list out some to-dos for your team and what to focus on. And then, lastly, is speaking engagements. So if you have an organization where you're looking to bring in somebody to speak or run a webinar or workshop, I would love to be considered. I love to talk about all things monthly giving thought leadership, social media, ads, digital marketing. Those are kind of like the core topics that I like to focus on, but would be happy to create something custom for you as well. So, with that, happy, happy new year I can't believe it's January 3rd. Realizing to this live January 3rd. Have a wonderful start to the month and I will be back sharing amazing marketing case study episodes for you in the weeks to come. See you next Wednesday.
