Empower Her Wellness (previously Love Yourself Healthy) is a podcast that aims to positively influence listeners when it comes to the topic of disordered eating, body image, self love and acceptance of ones self. We will also be discussing a range of different health issues such as binge eating, emotional eating, overeating and weight loss. Tackling them from a completely different perspective - mind, body, psychology. Throughout the podcasting journey you will also get to know 'real life' stories from people who have had struggles around the above topics and have positively come out the other side. They will share their struggles and what they did to overcome these. I want this platform to be used as a way to become more educated and open minded about the importance of taking care of and nurturing yourself from within. 57 | Break free from the 'All or Nothing' mindset with food!

We explore how black-and-white thinking around food—viewing it as either “good” or “bad”—can lead to guilt, binge eating, and the harmful restriction-binge cycle. The episode breaks down the science behind this mentality, including how our brain chemistry and dopamine response make certain foods more tempting when restricted.
We share practical strategies to break free from this cycle:
- Challenge black-and-white thinking by realizing that one “bad” meal doesn’t ruin your entire day or progress.
- Use the 80/20 rule to create balance—80% nutritious foods, 20% flexibility.
- Stop labeling foods as "good" or "bad" and start reframing them as nutrient-dense vs. less nutrient-dense.
- Stop waiting for the “perfect” time (like Monday) to start over—just make the next meal a balanced one.
The episode encourages embracing food freedom and letting go of guilt and perfectionism. It reminds listeners that healing their relationship with food is possible and begins with small, sustainable shifts in mindset.
