In this episode of The Mama Psychedelia Podcast, I have the pleasure of speaking to a woman that has really been a major catalyst on my own healing journey, Luna Itzell. An ayahuascara of 20 years, a truly sensational vocal talent accompanied by her husband Helder in all their musical endeavours, and a mother of a 19 year old daughter. Luna has one of the brightest hearts I’ve come to know in this life, her service in ceremony is remarkable, the weaving of her song medicine with the sacred medicine of the Amazon Ayahuasca, the divine healing space that she creates for us all to remember who we truly are. Luna tells us about her journey of coming to plant medicine in her early 30s to heal from her own fertility journey and mental, physical, emotional disturbances. How that journey led her to motherhood and medicine work as a life path. She shares pieces here and there on several sacred medicines of the earth and their spirits, living a ceremonial life in reverence of creator, and how this has served her in her 19 years of mothering. What she shares here is truly a blessing to anyone entering parenthood or needing a reminder amongst the challenging times. She tells us about her father’s influence in entering medicine ceremony for the first time, some of his own journey as a young man in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as her thoughts on mother’s sitting in ceremony throughout their pregnancies.
