Maya Weisinger recently earned her master’s degree at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy in Erfurt, Germany. She is a community engagement specialist with a particular focus on projects at the intersection of social justice and the arts. Before working with the CAE team she worked for ten years in the non-profit sector, defining ways to utilise art and creativity as pathways to diversity, equity and inclusion. As the Community Partnerships Coordinator at the Walker Art Centre she created strategic policy focused on breaking down structural barriers that have traditionally marginalised people of colour, indigenous and immigrant communities, and disabled individuals from large cultural institutions. Her current research focuses on the implementation of arts-based projects in the peace-building field.

Sara is the Advocacy Campaign Coordinator at Culture Action Europe, with a particular focus on the newly established partnership with the Alliance for Socially Engaged Arts (ASEA), contributing to the strengthening of synergy at the intersection of culture, democracy, and policy in Europe, and championing a vision that enables culture to drive positive societal change.

With an academic background in Languages for International Cooperation, her professional experience spans communication strategy, project management, and event coordination, particularly within the cultural sector. Her expertise has been shaped through roles in both civil society organisations and institutional settings.
