Bye-bye Spotify

Thanks to our proudly racist government, it's now open season to hunt people with brown skin. So I've made a decision to disassociate with platforms that support this. 

And that's why you won't hear this podcast on Spotify anymore.

Free Palestine, Free Congo and Free Sudan.

Buen día mi gente, and welcome to La Vida Más Chévere de Childfree Latinas. The only Spanglish podcast for childfree Latinas y Latines helping us liberate ourselves from the toxic cultural brainwashing we all grew up with, so that we can design our best lives instead. I'm your host and resident childfree Latina Paulette Erato. Surprise! I'm dropping in today with a little update. Things have changed around here. I've made some decisions about how you can consume this podcast, so I thought I would tell you a little story. This is also published on the Super Cheveritas Substack, so you can go check that out. The link's always in the show notes. Let me start at the top. Growing up a Mexican kid in LA, every party had piñatas. I'm pretty sure even the white kids got them. Because swinging a bat at something strung up from the nearest tree or pole or whatever, while blindfolded and dizzy is great training for beating on domestic terrorists. Am I saying you should treat los pendejo cosplaying as federal cops, AKA ICE, like this? Baby, I'm not gonna tell you how to get your exercise, but batting practice is a great upper body workout. Which brings me to a decision I've made about this podcast,  La Vida Más Chévere de Childfree Latinas. It is no longer available on Spotify because Spotify has been running ICE ads on its free, ad supported music side. And I don't know for certain if they're gonna run them on podcasts or if podcasters can even opt out of them, because in the end it doesn't matter. The CEO is also investing in AI weapons, drones. And now there's the partnership with Netflix as they continue their speed run attempt to overtake YouTube. Enough! I don't want any part of this. So for the less than 15% of you who listened to this show on Spotify, thank you for the downloads, but you can't do that anymore. If you're looking for an alternative, I'd recommend trying Overcast instead. It's a great interface built from the ground up by people who actually care about podcasting. And it's available on Android too. It'll take a little while for older episodes to disappear from the platform, but as of today, no new episodes will be released there. Fuck Spotify. Fuck ICE.
