Ending Physician Overwhelm
I'm Megan Melo, board-certified Family and Obesity Medicine Physician and Physician Coach. In this podcast we talk about the many ways that burnout shows up in our lives, and what we can do about it. I'm on a mission to help Physicians take steps towards to heal burnout by unlearning the habits of perfectionism, people-pleasing and limiting beliefs so that we can lead healthier, happier lives.
The healthcare system is broken; but you don't have to wait until it's fixed to feel better. I'm here to help.

Ending Physician Overwhelm
Money and Mindset with special guest, Dr Jimmy Turner, aka The Physician Philosopher
Many Physicians are familiar with the idea of the "golden handcuffs," even if they haven't heard the term. It's the belief that we are trapped in THIS job, or THIS career and we can't move/leave/change/innovate because we have loans to repay, mortgages, etc. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr Jimmy Turner, aka the Physician Philosopher, and we dig into these beliefs about money and our careers, and how they contribute to burnout.
Dr Jimmy Turner is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist specializing in regional anesthesia and acute pain management at Wake Forest, where he also trained for his medical school, residency and fellowships. He is also a published author, podcaster and certified coach for burned-out doctors who want to master their money mindsets in order to live life on their own terms. In his free time he enjoys time with his wife and 3 children, playing pickleball, and driving fast cars.
