How far can mercy reach? What is mercy? Mercy is a vital Christian term whose meaning is often misunderstood. In the most simple terms, mercy is God NOT giving us what we deserve.
In Isaiah 50:2, God asked Israel, Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Nine chapters later, Isaiah 59:1, answers the question like this, behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save.
The Prophet Isaiah confirmed the reach of God’s mercy has no limits. God’s "hand" has not lost any of its power. His ability to save has not changed. His power has not become weaker. His reach has not become shorter.
God’s mercy was able to reach David in his lowest times. God’s mercy was able to reach the prodigal son in a far country. The mercy of God was able to reach a woman from Samaria. And mercy is able to reach you.
