Four Lies to Stop Believing About Yourself
May 29, 2023 Episode 56
Trent Gilliam

A lie is an assertion that is false, typically used with the purpose of deceiving or misleading someone.

There is a saying, "the worst lie you can tell, is one you tell yourself."  While all lying is biblically wrong, the point remains, many people struggle because they believe things that are not true about themselves.

In John 8:44, Jesus said the Devil is the father of lies.  He lies to us to confuse us into doubting what God has told us. He knows if we repeat his lies long enough, we’ll begin to believe them.

Satan is good at what he does, he will do everything he can to get you to believe his lies. You must start recognizing his lies for what they are. His lies are meant to hold you in bondage.

This isn’t an indictment of anyone, from time to time, we all struggle with believing the devil's lies. And while there are many lies the devil tries to get us to believe, there are a few we may share in common.

In John 8:32, Jesus said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  When we learn and know the truth, we are able to walk in freedom from the lies.

In this episode we’ll discuss four common lies we believe about ourselves and the truth that will set us free.
