The Bible says, in Ephesians 6:12, that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
While demonic activity is real, it’s certainly not something we should fear. God has equipped us for victory with the whole armor of God.
One of the devil's more effective tactics is to torment our mind. He tries to overwhelm us psychologically with anxieties, shame, regrets and more.
I do not believe every psychological or emotional struggle is the result of an evil spirit. Having good days and bad days are a completely normal part of the human experience. However, I do believe, at times, devils try to piggyback on these struggles in an attempt to cause us more emotional grief.
Spiritual torment goes beyond the normal emotional or spiritual struggles we face. Spiritual torment is a continuous, unrelenting, attack on your mind. It’s the devil’s attempt to capitalize on our struggles and oppress us until we break.
In this episode, we will define what a tormenting spirit is and lay out some practical, yet biblical, steps to overcoming them.
