Show Notes

We all have scars, and each of those scars have stories. Our external scars remind of us certain events and feelings. Our internal and emotional scars bring up much different feelings. Although emotional scars are easier to hide, they affect us on a deeper level and can take much longer to heal.

God made our human body incredibly resilient. For example, when you get a cut, your body immediately goes to work to heal it. However, when we experience an emotional wound, our body does not naturally go into recovery mode. We have to take an active role in processing what happened and asking the Lord to help us heal.

Scars prove we survived the struggle, yet these struggles can leave emotional scars that we carry for years.

Jesus had scars too. Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, performed many incredible miracles, including resurrecting Himself from the dead. Without question, Jesus could have completely removed the marks of His death. Yet, the Bible tells us scars remained on His body.

Why did Jesus keep the scars? Simply, He chose to. These scars proved His identity to His disciples. He chose to keep the scars because scars revealed who He was and what He can do to others.

You’ve been through so much. You’ve been wounded by life. You’ve felt the pain of disappointment and regret. You’ve experienced hardship and hurt. There’s chapters of your life that, given a choice, you wouldn’t have written. The pain of heartbreak. The trauma of physical or emotional abuse.

You’re carrying scars from the pain. But there’s a purpose for your scars as well. What the enemy meant for evil, God is going to use to save many people alive.

In this episode, we’ll talk about how God wants to use your scars to reveal Himself to others.

Thanks for listening!
