Sara Klockars, PharmD, BCPS

Sara Klockars, PharmD, BCPS is an Associate Editor at TRC Healthcare. She earned her PharmD degree from Ohio Northern University. She then completed two years of clinical pharmacy residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to coming to TRC in 2019, Sara was a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Kaiser Permanente Colorado working alongside prescribers and pharmacists in an integrated healthcare system. She spent 12 years as part of the Primary Care team and built a practice in Dermatology, where she practiced for 4 years prior to joining TRC. In addition to dermatology, Sara’s professional interests include pharmacist and prescriber education, promoting evidence-based, cost-effective care, and other specialty pharmacy areas (rheumatology, gastroenterology, etc).

Stephen Small, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS, BCCCP, CNSC

Stephen Small, PharmD, BCPS, BCPPS, BCCCP, CNSC is an Assistant Editor at TRC Healthcare. 

He earned his PharmD degree from Butler University in 2015. He then completed his PGY1 pharmacy residency at Denver Health Medical Center in Colorado.  Before joining the TRC Healthcare team in 2024, Steve was a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist Specialist at Denver Health for 5 years overseeing its neonatal, pediatric, and obstetric services. He also currently serves as a pharmacist in the National Disaster Medical System and continues his practice as a pediatric pharmacist at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City. Steve's professional interests outside of pediatrics and obstetrics include parenteral nutrition, emergency preparedness, and healthcare multimedia.

Candace Pierce, DNP, RN, CNE, COI

Dr. Pierce is a dedicated nurse leader and educator committed to preparing nurses for success by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel at the bedside. With 15 years of experience spanning bedside nursing, management, and academia, she has a strong background in clinical practice, nursing education, and curriculum development.


Dr. Pierce teaches graduate-level courses, integrating real-world clinical expertise with advanced nursing concepts to prepare future nurse leaders. As a leader, Dr. Pierce empowers nurses to embrace their roles as change agents and problem solvers. In her role as the Senior Course Development Manager for Colibri Healthcare, she collaborates with subject matter experts to create evidence-based continuing education programs that support nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.

Christie Schumacher, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP, BCCP, BC-ADM, CDCES, FCCP

Christie Schumacher is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of the PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Downers Grove Campus, and a Clinical Pharmacist at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.  She currently works in a primary care clinic to provide comprehensive medication management for a variety of internal medicine disease states.  After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Michigan, Dr. Schumacher completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy.  She is a past Chair of the Board of Pharmacy Specialties® Specialty Council on Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, is a past Chair of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Endocrine and Metabolism Practice Research Network (PRN) and the ACCP Ambulatory Care PRN.

Darlene Moyer, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Darlene Moyer is a dedicated physician educator with over 15 years of experience in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She currently serves as an Associate Director at the HonorHealth Family Medicine Residency Program at HonorHealth Osborn, where she is passionate about advancing medical education and patient care.


Dr. Moyer received her medical degree from George Washington University and completed residency training at Scottsdale Healthcare. She further honed her expertise with a Faculty Development Fellowship at the University of Arizona and a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at HonorHealth. Her clinical interests include general Family Medicine with a focus on Geriatric care. She enjoys providing care in both the inpatient and ambulatory setting, which includes home visits, assisted living, and memory care units.

Jeff Langford, PharmD, BCPS-AQ Cardiology, BCCP

Dr. Langford earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University.  He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with Added Qualifications in Cardiology and an adjunct assistant professor at the University of South Carolina.

Additionally, Jeff's background includes approximately 10 years as a clinical pharmacy specialist with a practice focused in cardiology.  His professional interests include managing cardiovascular disease and diabetes and enhancing the role of pharmacists  within the health care team.

Lauren G. Pamulapati, PharmD, BCACP

Lauren Grecheck Pamulapati, PharmD, is an Associate Professor of Ambulatory Care and Director of Continuing Education at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Pharmacy in Richmond, VA, with a clinical practice site at Hayes Willis Health Center, a family medicine clinic within VCU Health. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from VCU School of Pharmacy before completing a PGY1 residency at the University of Colorado Hospital and a PGY2 ambulatory care residency at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Within her clinical practice site, she provides chronic disease state management with a focus on diabetes under a collaborative practice agreement. She has presented at numerous conferences regarding diabetes management and residency preparation, published articles related to ambulatory care practice and teaching, and has developed Continuing Education programs for the American Diabetes Association.

Tatyana Gurvich, PharmD, BCGP, APh

Tatyana Gurvich, PharmD., BCGP APh, is an associate professor at USC Mann School of Pharmacy. She teaches didactic and experiential geriatric curricula there. She is a site director for various IPPE, APPE and residency experiences. She is also involved in interprofessional education at USC and is a lead pharmacy faculty in various interprofessional courses across the university. She serves as chair of ASCP’s population health committee and CSHP’s Geriatric Pharmacy Care Council. She is on the board of the national Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Council for the 2025- 2027 years.


For over 3 decades, she has developed geriatric pharmacology curricula for pharmacy, medical students and residents and has fostered interprofessional collaboration between physicians and pharmacists, focusing on integrating pharmacy and medical education.

Tyler J. Varisco, PharmD, PhD

Tyler Varisco is an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy and assistant director for Research Development in the Prescription Drug Misuse Education and Research Center at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. 


A registered pharmacist and trained health services researcher, Dr. Varisco earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. His research focuses on evaluating and improving the quality of care for persons with opioid use disorder (OUD). Dr. Varisco is the lead author of the Pharmacy Access to Resources and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder Practice Guideline published in 2024.
