The Liz Show: Executive Psychology & Performance Under Pressure
Welcome to The Liz Show: Executive Psychology & Performance Under Pressure.
Hosted by Elizabeth Louis, an executive psychology advisor specializing in identity architecture, thinking traps, and performance under pressure, this podcast explores how high-performing individuals think, decide, and operate when the stakes are real.
Episodes break down the psychological patterns that shape decision-making, confidence, composure, and leadership capacity. Topics range from cognitive distortions and identity structure to behavioral economics, high-performance psychology, and the internal constraints that limit expansion.
Elizabeth also integrates biblical wisdom throughout many conversations, reflecting her own Christian worldview and the role faith can play in shaping identity, responsibility, and resilience.
Some episodes focus deeply on psychological frameworks and performance science, while others explore the intersection of psychology, faith, and personal responsibility.
If you're interested in understanding how internal architecture affects performance in business, leadership, and life, The Liz Show examines the patterns underneath how people think, act, and grow under pressure.

17 Thinking Traps That Prove Jesus Is Your Tool, Not Your Savior
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode, I walk through 17 thinking traps (cognitive distortions) Christians commonly fall into without realizing it — and explain how these patterns reveal what we are functionally trusting to save us.
Using Hebrews 4:12 as the framework, this teaching applies Scripture surgically, separating soul from spirit to expose where Jesus has become the means to a savior rather than the Savior Himself.
I explain:
- The difference between faith-building seasons and stripping seasons
- Why many believers love Jesus but still operate from misplaced trust
- How trials reveal what we’re actually leaning on
- Why thinking traps are not just psychological patterns, but spiritual indicators
- How cognitive distortions show up specifically in Christian language and behavior
- The connection between anxiety, overthinking, and functional saviors like control, certainty, healing, or outcomes
Each of the 17 thinking traps is defined, then applied to real Christian thought patterns — toward God, toward self, and toward others — to help identify where trust has subtly shifted away from Christ.
This episode is not about condemnation or questioning salvation.
It’s about awareness, discipleship, and returning Jesus to the center of trust.
