Alan is a Razorback by birth, but a Bulldog by diploma.  He grew up camping, fishing and hunting with the legendary Johnson Boys of Union County. He was blessed with a couple of great parents who gave him a solid foundation for a journey of faith.  

There are a few other key figures who have shown him what an authentic relationship with Jesus looks like.  A hairy guy named Andy, a sports-loving lady named Janey, and a brown-haired beauty named Shawna have at one time or another played major instruments in the band that has kept Alan in rhythm with his Savior.

Alan still gets plenty of encouragement from his wife Shawna, but he also continues to learn and be amazed by the lives of their children Emery and Reid.

For 15 years, Alan has spent much of his time investing in the lives of college students in Monroe, and leaning on the truth that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.

Shawn grew up mostly in Louisiana watching way too much television and running around the woods with his brothers. He's married to his high school sweetheart, Courtney, and they have three children finishing in middle school, high school, and college.

Shawn entered full time ministry as a pastor in 2007 and has served several congregations of various sizes in Louisiana. While he currently serves as the contemporary worship pastor at First Methodist Monroe, his main passion in ministry entails helping others figure out how to tell their faith story and become disciple makers.
