Educate to Self-Regulate
19. Operationalising Self- Regulated Learning in schools - The SEE Framework
Welcome to Season 3 of Educate to Self-Regulate!
Dr Shyam Barr and Rory McCaughey are back and excited to share more insights and ideas about self-regulated learning (SRL) for teachers and learners around the world.
In episode 19, Shyam and Rory explore a research paper (Callan et al., 2020) which provides a framework to catalogue evidence based SRL practices. For any school leader or teacher seeking to improve their SRL instruction but feel a little overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of research, this article, and this episode, are for you.
In this episode, you will:
- Learn about the three key areas of the SEE Framework in which self-regulated practices are organised: Setting, Exchanges and Events.
- Gain understanding of a range of practices to support self- regulated learning along with supporting research for further reading.
- Hear practical examples of how these practices from each category of the SEE framework are applied in a school context.
All the above and more in less than 20 minutes!
