The Conversations on African Philanthropy podcast features leaders and game-changers whose work has enabled social investment and philanthropy in Africa. Hosted by the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI), the podcast supports the mission of promoting social change by fostering a culture of effective giving and corporate social and civic responsibility.
Founded in 2017 and situated within Wits Business School, CAPSI aspires to nurture a new generation of African experts, researchers and leaders in African Philanthropy, Social Investment and related disciplines. The Centre serves as a source of knowledge and learning, a platform for partnerships, and a hub for community engagement for participating organisations and institutions across and for the benefit of Africa. CAPSI’s offerings include postgraduate academic programmes, short courses, masterclasses, post-doctoral fellowships, publications and partner-collaborated research and development projects in social investment and philanthropy.

In Conversation with Joyce Nyairo | Adɔyɛ Series #13
Joyce Nyairo is an author, cultural analyst and independent researcher who was a moderator at the inaugural African Women's Writers Retreat.
In her conversation with Prof. Moyo, Joyce reflects on her experience as a co-writing coach on the programme. Some of their talking points include;

- How the positive environment contributed to the blend of productivity and relaxation, essential for creative work.

This series of conversations with women in African philanthropy was recorded on the sidelines of the African Women Writers retreat that took place at the Wits Rural Facility in Limpopo, South Africa, and hosted by CAPSI’s Adɔyɛ Programme and Nawi Afrifem Collective. Adɔyɛ is dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the contributions of African women in philanthropy while creating spaces for dialogue, learning and collaboration.
