Show Notes Transcript Chapter Markers

What if I told you that teenagers are capable of having identities rooted in purpose? It's a concept I'm exploring with my guest, Coach Helen. As the founder of the RPTL (Raising Purpose-driven Teen Leaders ) Academy that works specifically with pre-teens, Helen is passionate about equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills they need to navigate through life's challenges.

You've probably heard the teenage years are tough, even more so when you feel like you're on your own. In this conversation with Coach Helen, we discuss the need for a community that supports and nurtures our teens. Helen shares how the power of togetherness, the voices of others echoing the same values you instill in your children, can greatly impact their journey to adulthood. We also delve into her hands-on approach of providing tangible testimonies of the young ones she mentors and how she is preparing them for the future.

As we wrap up our discussion, we focus on a rather interesting approach to preteen and teen development: raising kingdom financiers and entrepreneurs. Coach Helen opens up about her innovative methods, using Bible study groups as a platform to shift mindsets, cultivating a sense of purpose and identity in your children. This episode is a treasure trove of insights into the importance of a relationship with God and how to guide your children toward a purpose-driven life. Hang tight, you're in for a treat!

Speaker 1:

Welcome to today's episode of the Kingdom Mothers Rise Up podcast. Today, i have with me Coach Helen, from the other side of the world, and she has a passion for raising teens to be leaders in this crazy world that they're heading into, so I'm excited to hear her heart today. Welcome, helen.

Speaker 2:

Hello, hello, mako, thank you so much for inviting me today. I'm really really pleased and blessed that you really took the time you know in your busy schedule to allow me to be here with you and to share with your audience what I do and who I am and what is in my heart and that the father has put in my heart to help this next generation.

Speaker 1:

You have a heart for teens and pre-teens to be equipped. Where does that passion come from? in your own story?

Speaker 2:

I believe that when I was young, i never really had the role models to really help me grasp the person that I am, my identity. So I decided to be that person for them. Because I've been an educator for more than 12 years, i believe that I ended up being an educator, but I think that God orchestrated that for a long time, obviously, and I have really a passion to help them, because they are looking for inspiration. They are looking for someone that can show them the way, and today I was listening to a podcast about you, me. I got what's telling me.

Speaker 2:

I'm a pioneer, i'm doing something that has never been done before, and it's like you need to have the faith of Abraham, you need to have the faith of the people, of faith in the Bible, and I have called you for such a time as this And I felt like, ok, sometimes it's quite hard, but I just realized that I have to do that for them, because if I don't stand in my purpose, i believe someone else will do it, because God can use anyone to accomplish his calling and it's a privilege to serve him, but I want to be part of it. I want to be part of the kingdom of venison. So, yeah, that's the reason why I wanted to be that person for them, because I never had that in my life And I want to be a pioneer to help them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah And I think that's the heart of probably every mother listening that in a way she's pioneering because her parents didn't do for her what she's wanting to do for her kids And so she's in that place of OK, I know I have a calling that's bigger than me. I know I need to make a kingdom impact. I know I need to equip my kids for theirs, because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that their world changers and their warriors. But if nobody trained me, how do I know how to train them?

Speaker 2:

So, like every mom is pioneering because she's the first one in her family to do this, Yes, i love that And I think as well that this is a time where, as they are aware of where they are in their journey, this is a time where they need to be intentional in finding tools and gain new strategies on how to release those their kids into their destinies.

Speaker 2:

And it's something that they will have to unlearn, because that's what happened when you are in the world. There is so many things that you've learned based on your environment, based on your trauma, based on your story, and now it's like I have all these things in my life. What do I do with them? I need to start growing into a place of healing So I can actually find truth and I can hear clearly God on how to direct the path of the child that has given me, because we are, i consider myself as well as being a person who is supposed to guide them and direct them to the path, and we need to be connected with the father And we have to ask the father what is the identity of the child that I'm dealing with at the moment, so we can actually find the blueprint that is right for that child.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so how do you come alongside? you work with parents and educators and organizations. But since we're mainly talking to moms, like how do you come alongside moms in that process?

Speaker 2:

Well, i have a masterclass. I do a lot of masterclass. I have a Facebook group where I train parents to change their mindset. So I did a masterclass I just finished, for example, to their masterclass called Awaken Masterclass, where I allow parents to really grow into their spiritual growth so they can see where they are in their journey. And I'm going to plan, for example, another masterclass called 2026, where it's about proverb 2026, where we train Again, it's about training the mind, training the parents to think differently and to release their kids in this new economy, because everything is online now, so everything is totally shifting and changing and we have to equip them. So that's what I do, and alongside I have an academy where I actually help their pre-teens to really gain strategies and understanding on how to grow into who they were called to be.

Speaker 1:

That's amazing. Tell me more about what that looks like.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so raising. So the Academy is called raising purpose-driven teenagers. At the beginning I started it and I thought about teenagers most of the time, but God was like now you need to focus on preteens, because those preteens would become teenagers and those teenagers would become young adults and those young adults would become leaders. So the vision is there is like we're thinking about teenagers, because teenagers it's really hard to really convince them about what they're supposed to do. They're really longing for independence, whereas when you focus on preteens and younger children, you mold their minds. That's what I love with preteens is that you can mold their mind and they can listen to you and it's like a sponge. But we need to start young. When we start young, we just give them the right tools and they grow into the right understanding of what is a kingdom of God and the choice that they make is based on the kingdom of God and what God is saying. So I realize along the way that teenagers most of the time don't listen to their parents. They need that third person and I want to be that third person for the parents that support where they're like okay, coach Helen, i trust you, i know your values, i know your heart for the kingdom. This is what I want you to really help my child to grow into self-leadership. That's what I do.

Speaker 2:

I am not a parent coach, but I am a teen leadership expert where I help preteens to really grow into finding truth, finding themselves Along the way. I enjoy the journey because I see the change in the life of the teens that I'm working with, the preteens I'm working with. They have so much ha ha moments Alongside with that. I love the fact that I am actually helping them to grow spiritually because at the end of the day, i can't give them so much, but I need to teach them as well how to pursue the heart of the father. The parents want that, but sometimes it's hard for the kids to do it because they need a community. They need a place where they can exercise that fate. They need someone that can help them to that. So I am that person. I am the midwife, the third person that can help those children to really get closer to the Lord and to grow into understanding kingdom principles.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, i love that you bring in that community aspect, because it is so important to have other voices in our children's lives saying the same thing we're saying, because they do hit that stage as teens where they're needing to separate from us as parents so that they don't feel like they're stuck in that child role And so they're not going to listen to us the same way they did when they were young.

Speaker 1:

And if we just accept that and part of that is having our own healing and our own growth and maturity, so that we're not offended and injured and feeling rejected and abandoned because they're doing what God designed them to do Totally And to know ahead of time, like this is coming. So build that community of people that you can send them to when they don't want to hear your advice about dating or ethics at school or whatever, be like great. Why don't you go talk to so-and-so And know that they're going to tell them exactly what you would tell them? And so they're still getting and they're going to listen to them though, instead of fighting with you? So, like, start building that community, finding the people that you can trust, and in this day and age, if that means you need to hire somebody from the other side of the world. Your kids are worth that. Do it.

Speaker 2:

I love it. This is, you know, like I'm so grateful because this is exactly what God has put in my heart. You know, it's so interesting because in the summer, like in July, i will have a young lady. She's 14, and her parents have known them for, let's say, easily four years, five years, and I really have a strong connection with this girl like, and their parents trust me enough to send her over to Qatar to spend time with me, and I'm like I'm not really told her. You know that when you come with me, we're going to spend time with God. You know, then, when we come with me, you're going to really like, pursue the presence of God, and she's like, okay, i'm ready, but when she's with her parents, it's totally different. So I love how I can have tangible testimonies to really share with you. But this is the thing that I do and I love to do, because I see the growth in their life And they contact me.

Speaker 2:

I have another testimony as well. I am in Qatar right now and I live. I'm not going to say where I work, but in my environment. I'm working with teens as well, and those teens, they love the Lord deeply And every time they would come and we would have Bible study together, we would pray together And, like, i got to the stage where I, like you know what I need to talk to your parents so I can share with them. You know what you do with me, because safeguarding is important as well. So I talk to the parent and they're like oh my gosh, this is so amazing. I want you to really help my, my, my team, to really grow more into the Lord, and every time when I see them, my heart is melting because they are the one who pursued the kingdom of God And I'm like this is it. I feel like I'm in purpose. I feel like I'm doing the things that God wants me to do, because they are thirsty, they want more. Some of them even, like one of them asked me I want to learn how to speak in tongues. I wanted to show me how to do this stuff, and I'm like thank you, god, you are allowing me to fulfill my purpose and do the things that you want me to do for you. You know so and I teach them. I want to teach them as well.

Speaker 2:

Kingdom laws. You know, like the heart of a servant. You know all these laws are so important in the kingdom that we learn in the world. We end up fitting in the world, even if we know that we're not from the world. But we end up fitting in the world from the things that we hear, the things that we've learned, and we lose our essence, we lose our souls, we lose who we are when we are supposed to go in the mountain of influence that God has called us to and really bring change.

Speaker 2:

And I want that to happen for this next generation, that they bring the change that we want to see. They bring heaven on earth. They bring what God wants to happen, because we have been training them the right way. We've been training them how God wanted to be And they are releasing the heart of the father. Because in this new economy, i really can see that the world system is going to be very it's going to be harder, everything is going to be darker And we need to give them a place where they're going to rely on the kingdom economy and they won't need the world. They would be so in tune with God that they would be like we have our own economy, we don't need the world, and this is what we need to build right now. We need to train them for the things that are coming.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely, since none of us have ever been there before, we don't know exactly what's coming, but we know that darkness increases And so the light needs to get brighter. The darkness doesn't get to overcome, but if we don't know how to shine our light, then the darkness does overcome. And that cultural influence? I just saw something the other day that screen time and the increase in suicidal thought goes up exponentially with screen time And the average American teen. I don't know what it's like in your country, but the average American teen is at almost double average daily screen time of where suicidal thoughts are at like 70%.

Speaker 2:

Wow.

Speaker 1:

So we have to be willing to look different and to instill in our kids a love of life and a love of the Lord that they're willing to look different, to literally keep them alive. Like the culture of being constantly plugged in is literally killing our kids, literally killing them. There's no reason for it. Like we live in the most amazing time ever. Like I can talk to you on the other side of the world and we can travel and all the amazing things that we have access to. There's no reason to be depressed because you're spending all your time looking at a little box of other people's lives, telling you you're not good enough.

Speaker 2:

It is so true. It is so true. And it all comes with what the agenda of the enemy is doing. He wants to kill the identity of the children. He wants to really get them to that place where they're so busy focusing on other people's life, they're so busy focusing on the system of the world that they forget to focus on God. They forget to focus on what is really important in the kingdom, and this is the thing We are not here to talk about religion. This is the thing I really want.

Speaker 2:

When I will talk to those kids anyway, like what I'm going to do, because I'm trying now to set a Bible study monthly with those teens, online Bible study I really want them to understand like we are not here to talk about religion, we're here to serve a king. We're here to serve a kingdom. And once you understand because I never knew that. I was born as a Catholic, so I never understood what is the message of the kingdom. But when you understand the message of the kingdom and you grasp what it is, you do things totally different, because you know that you will not just hear just for the sake of being here. You're here to fulfill a mandate that the king has given you on earth And I'm going to tell them the heart of the father and we're going to seek the heart of the father together And they're going to learn to exalt. Exalt with the word of God, read the word for themselves and seek and pray, and fasting and spiritual warfare All these things are so important for them to grow into. There is never too young to learn the kingdom principles. It's just that we have never been exposed when we're young. If we had been exposed when we were young, do you? Well, i'm grateful that we are here because we can talk to those parents and help those kids, but I think we would have been in a different level in our lives.

Speaker 2:

In life, you need to understand and maneuver in timing. In the chronos, we are the one God has already planned everything for us outside of time And because of our lack of knowledge, our lack of understanding and our ignorance, most of the time I believe that we say that God's timing is the best timing. I believe that And I also believe that we are the one, based most of the time on our ignorance, that delay the things that God has for us Because it's already done. But the word of God moves, supernatural moves. You know when you tap in the kingdom there is redeeming of time. Everything works for the good of those who love the Lord according to his purpose.

Speaker 2:

There is so many things that can't be redeemed because we know the word And I believe, even if you look at Jesus' life, he started when he was 12. He started when he was 12 and he was clear to his mom. Don't you know that? I'm doing my father's business at 12 years old? So this is what we need to do is equipping them so young that they know. So when the enemy tries to come, it's like you cannot do anything. I know my identity.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yeah, i know my father, so I know who I am, and you don't get to come and tell me any different, because I know part of that is getting it in ourselves and overcoming all of the things that the enemy has used and put in our way to keep us from seeing who we really are And trusting that God is as good as he says he is and, as you know, as good as he is. So, yeah, understanding that. Yeah, it's not about the religion, it's about knowing the Lord himself and living in step with him. And yeah, like you said, like, look at Jesus. That's what he did. He was living in step with the Father and that's why he could heal the sick and the blind and he could disappear in the middle of a crowd and feed thousands of people and give his life away when the time came, you know, like it's all, because he always knew what the Father wanted him to do, because he was in constant communication with him.

Speaker 2:

I love that, i really do It's. I think it's this is a time where we really need to be in spiritual awakening, like I read a post the other day saying that we are moving from a time, we are in a time of information, but we need to grow even more in a time of discernment. And this is what we need to do is that spiritual awakening to see where we are and what needs to be done. I cannot save everybody. I just do my part And this is what I want those kids to understand, because those kids that God has placed under my care, they are world changers, they are impactors.

Speaker 2:

I have a group called impactors and it's really those who will really become kingdom financiers for God. They will know how God operates at a young age and they will. They will grow in their finances. They will understand how the kingdom economy work, because if you don't understand how the kingdom economy works, how will you be able to sustain yourself financially? Yes, you can have a job. That's why I'm really moving and helping those pretense to grow into entrepreneurial mindsets. It's so important because when you grow into that, when you're young, there is nothing that helps stop you. You can still have a job, have your business, have your own entrepreneurial and grow with God, because you need to be at that stage of domination and influencing your life.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love that. Raising them up to be influencers and having impact. You're talking about finances and entrepreneurs. Is that part of your academy is training them in business?

Speaker 2:

Yes, the first part. what I do is I start with pretense. I have an academy. The academy is for 10 to 12. When they joined the academy from 10 to 12, they joined as well a Bible study group where I help them to really shift their mindset and their growth in Christ. I give them a mini course about the concept that they need to know to start growing into purpose, finding identity, finding truth, because it's what they need to learn When they are around 12 to 14, i really start equipping them about understanding kingdom entrepreneurship. Through the Bible study as well, we talk about the different laws of the economy of God. It's a journey. It's not giving them everything. It's a journey.

Speaker 2:

Once they grow into that understanding, they can start serving the community of impact, the squad impactor, so that community can use their gifts and find themselves, so they can use their gifts to really help the community to grow. They can maybe be the leader of bring and fasting, the leader of podcasting, the leader of marketing, the leader Finding their gifts where they fit, the leader of Bible study content, the leader of so many things that they have to choose from and they feel like they are growing into finding their gifting. The more they serve the community, the more they grow and they discover their leadership, the more they're like oh my gosh, i love doing that, i can't do that. They grow into it. Then, when they are around maybe 16, 17, now I start explaining to them. Well, i'm building that program at the moment how to turn their gift into a profitable online business.

Speaker 2:

Before you need the finances, your mindset has to change. That's where it's important that the parents come and just start when they are young, when they are pretty, because it's a journey, a mentorship journey. I learned to know each one of them. We grow and we create community and relationship and family. It's just amazing. I love how God has already given me that vision. I've been like I went through so much hurt, I would say, to get there, So much heartache to get there. I'm grateful that I'm still here fighting. They can follow me on Instagram at the case for success and they can get to wwwRPTLnowcom. They will have the program and the things that I do.

Speaker 1:

Yes, okay, those links will be in the show notes. The preteens and teens as they're traveling this journey with you. Is there a way that the parents are brought into that to know, like the vocabulary and the concepts you're teaching, because the parent may not know them? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Well, thank you for reminding me that, because in the Academy I've got two program. I've got the parents program and the teens program, The preteens I've got those both things. It's usually is only one, the only focus on the parents but not really on the teen Preteens, but in this Academy I've got two. So the parents has a Facebook community, a private Facebook group, where we really help them to go in a healing. We have group in a healing sessions and we have as well group accountability sessions, the Q&A sessions, and they can actually ask where they are in their journey and they can really start growing into stamina and spiritual warfare and understanding for their kids as well.

Speaker 2:

And even when they're in that place of healing. I want to train those parents as well to start growing into their own calling as well, because it's all of a journey with God. It's not just starting and just saying this. is it because you see a lot of programs that say, okay, yeah, you need to start that, come and learn this? But it doesn't work like that with God. God needs to process your heart first.

Speaker 1:

He needs to process. Yeah, he wants the relationship with him, so he wants us to journey with him. He doesn't want to give us a six-week curriculum and then send us on our way.

Speaker 2:

That's it. That's why you have so many things like that. Oh, six weeks, four weeks It doesn't work like that. I don't think. Yeah, And this is what I love is that when you know truth, you know when to realize what is right for you and what is not right for you. You know because you can see there are a lot of imposters who try to say stuff but it's not really working with the identity of the father, And I want to tell them all about those prisons and the parents, because this is who we are. We are here to really break the narrative, And I want to break the narrative for them.

Speaker 1:

I did a program with my older kids when they were little, called Confident Kids, while the kids were having the lessons and it was about learning emotional resilience and I don't want to say coping skills. but how do you handle your anger? How do you handle hard feelings? At the same time, their parents were in class covering the same material, so they were learning the vocabulary that their kids were learning instead of I don't know. I feel like Sunday school so often is like okay, we send the kids away and you don't have any idea what's happening in there.

Speaker 1:

You don't know what they were taught. You know like, oh, we were, you did, jonah. Today, okay, when you're trying to teach like you are, like you're trying to shift culture, you're changing generational cycles. I love that you're including the parents instead of just, well, i'm going to work with this young generation because it might be being undermined at home if the parents and not because the parents are bad just because they don't know any better and you don't know what you don't know So if the kids are learning you know identity and learning entrepreneurism, where the family has always just had a job and you do everything you can to keep that job, you know, like that stuff is undermined.

Speaker 1:

So I love that you have that place for the parents also to grow and to be able to continue the conversations with their kids, because when they are preteen, they are still listening to their parents, and so for the parents to be like, oh, yeah, i'm learning, like that's not what I was taught, but I can see this is biblical and this aligns with the character of God And so, yeah, we're going to change how we talk about this or how we function in this area and have that foundation. So that's really getting.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you so much. I really appreciate that. You know, like it's not. I think it's not just for the sake of doing things, because sometimes I have to be, to be real, Like I don't want to do things from the place of me wanting something, I just want to be led by God. Because we get so much into this is a thing Like I've learned thing in the world.

Speaker 2:

For some time I found myself going in the world and doing the things that the world is doing And it's like the streets that know this is not what you're supposed to do. You know, like I don't know. Like, even with like, when these talk about like businesses and finances, you know the spirit always been telling me you know you can go out there and like find your dream 100 or do this or do this or do that, But he's like you know, with me, favor is kingdom principle, favor, I would just listen to me, you hear my voice and I tell you to follow the direction and favor will come. One person is going to answer and he's going to be me in that, in that, in that relationship, that connection, You know.

Speaker 2:

So this is, this is what I didn't know. So I had to find things for myself because you end up working from a place of flesh I don't know if you could say that, but not really understanding the kingdom principles like divine connection. This is so amazing when you have the connection that has been already ordained and aligned in your life and you have to bring them into reality and say God, bring those divine destiny helpers is divine connection for my life and help me to recognize them? because from a place sometimes of hurt, we cannot see the opportunity that is around us And we go in that place of self sabotaging spirit because we can't see what God has placed in front of us And most of the time it can be our greatest blessing.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely. That's so good, so good. Do you have any closing thoughts you want to share with our moms?

Speaker 2:

I would say now is the best time to invest in your preteens. They are good soil. You are good soil. You need to to think that you are teaching them to invest in their life, because we are our greatest asset. We have the father and we are our body. Our mind is for the Lord and we need to grow into knowledge. The word of God is clear My people are perished because of lack of vision And if you don't have knowledge, if we don't know, we cannot do something different. So now is the best time to invest in your preteens. Join the academy.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to sell or whatever, but I think it's a great time to really start investing in their life so they can really just grasp the best that the kingdom principles young.

Speaker 2:

Train them young, because after they will be in that place where they're going to have to unlearn a lot of things, and we don't want them to unlearn unnecessary things when they could have learned what was supposed to be learned at the right time. Because timing is important and we need to work in the chronos of God and realize that there are opportunities that are handed up to us and we just need to grasp them and do it the most into the best of our liberties, because preteens is only two years really, so after that they're going to become teenagers, and we since when? they will learn? because they crave for independence. They will just do what they want based on what they know, but if they know better, they will do what they want better and choose from the opportunity, from what they know, to fulfill the calling and the destiny that God has for them. So, investing your preteens now, two years, and help them to grow in the path that is right for them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I love that. Thank you so much for sharing today, Coach Ellen. Thank you, Makov. I'll have all the links for how you can connect with her in the show notes. Thank you so much.
