How do we make every child feel better with Dr. Rina Sanghavi?
Today we’re getting under the hood of Dr. Rina Sanghavi, M.D., M.B.A, F.A.A.P a mother, daughter, sister, women’s advocate and a Professor of Pediatrics at U.T Southwestern Medical Center/Children’s Health, Children’s Medical Center Dallas where she is the Director of Pediatric Neurogastroenterology. She has helped establish the Aerodigestive clinic, the chronic abdominal pain program, the motility and biofeedback program, and the Center for Anorectal Malformations and pelvic disorders at her institution. She holds several administrative and leadership positions including President of the Medical Dental Staff Director of the Office of Faculty Engagement, and chair of the Pediatric Business Strategy Group She is also the outgoing chair of the Professional Development Committee and the inaugural chair of the Women in Medicine Committee for NASPGHAN.
Dr. Sanghavi advocates for Women leaders in medicine, equity, and empathic leadership. She is passionate about marrying the business aspect of a medical practice with efficiency and promoting wellness within clinicians, especially in an academic environment. She has published on motility and equity in medicine.
She has been invited for lectures and talks on neuro gastroenterology, nutrition, and leadership nationally and internationally. In addition, she has also been recognized with several awards, including the Clinical Excellence Award at UT Southwestern and the Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award across GI societies.
