The whole world - media, academics, ordinary people - uses terms like jihadi or right-wing or left-wing terrorism without any real controversy. And yet in some circles there are movements that eschew this terminology for fear of 'offending' someone. This wrong-headed approach sacrifices accuracy for touch-feeliness and it is wrong, dead-wrong. We need to understand and label terrorism precisely if we are to have any hope of combatting it.
