Dr Lorelei Jones

Dr Lorelei Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Organisation and Governance at Bangor University. 


Her research focuses on the cultural processes that shape healthcare, with expertise in hospital quality and safety, medical leadership, organisational change and systems-level collaboration. Trained in anthropology and health services research at the University of Queensland, LSHTM, LSE and UCL, Lorelei has built an international profile examining how healthcare systems adapt, innovate and improve. Her work is driven by a commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and services in North Wales, and contributing evidence that helps address the complex challenges facing health and care globally.

Nia Thomas

Nia Thomas is the Head of Culture Development at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. 


She leads work to strengthen organisational culture across the health board, focusing on psychological safety, compassionate leadership and building environments where staff feel valued, supported and able to thrive. With extensive experience in culture change and staff development, Nia is committed to creating healthier, more connected workplaces that enable better care for patients and better working lives for teams across North Wales.

Tracey O'Neill

Tracey has a background in public health research and prevention that was started by her MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion at Bangor University in 2006. Tracey’s research interests are in the area of health inequalities and the social determinants of health, and Tracey is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. After several years of working as a researcher on many different public health projects in the UK and Australia, Tracey started working as a lecturer after completing her PGCertHE in 2013. She became a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority in 2015.

Anna Quinn, Health and Wellbeing project manager at Bangor University,  is a training and engagement professional specialising in workplace wellbeing. 


Her work focuses on health-orientated leadership, burnout prevention, stress management and building more active, supportive workplace cultures. With a particular passion for helping organisations create environments where staff can thrive, Anna champions practical, evidence-informed approaches that make wellbeing feel achievable in the flow of everyday work.

Dr Rebecca Payne

Dr Rebecca Payne, is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Bangor University. Her research focuses on digital health innovations and the implications of remote consulting for patient safety, and healthcare quality, particularly in remote and rural contexts. Before coming to Bangor, she was an NIHR-In practice Fellow at Oxford University where she led the quality and safety themes of the Remote by Default 2 project.

Rebecca is also a Clarendon-Reuben Scholar at Oxford University, a Churchill Fellow and Honorary Researcher-in-Residence at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. She also a member of the Scientific Board of EURIPA and Associate Editor for the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy.

Imogen Kelly

Imogen “Immie” Kelly is a Digital Learning Designer at Bangor University’s School of Health Sciences and the Academy for Health Equity


With a background of more than a decade in graphic design and a current MSc in Digital Technologies, Communication and Education, Immie blends creativity, pedagogy and technology to design engaging, accessible digital learning experiences. Her work focuses on improving equity in education, supporting health professionals, and exploring how AI can enhance learning and research.


She is also co-host of the Health Equity Podcast, where she brings thoughtful, practical conversations to life for learners and practitioners across the sector.
