Everybody wants change, wants character development, perfection. They want what they dream of, but they don't want the grind, the hustle and the pain that goes along with it. So we want the easy road. Many times our commitments, new Year's resolutions and caballos, they fall apart Because, while maybe I did commit to daven on time every day or say a peric to hillam every single day, I did not commit to do it when it's this uncomfortable, when it's minus 10 degrees, rainy, cold and icy outside. I didn't know that was a part of my commitment. So we fall apart.
Speaker 1:I want to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, I was inspired by heaps of information that I came across in my life. I'd like to share it with you because it changed my perspective on what it takes to really change. And it comes from a unexpected source, from a shampoo bottle. A shampoo bottle in the store that I walked across, right on the front Denorex Shampoo. It is a vitamin-enriched shampoo, built-in conditioner providing body and hair with shine. You'd expect and quote on the front, and this shook me to the core. The menthol enrichment in the shampoo is marketed by telling you, quote the tingle tells you it's working. Then, rex, the tingle tells you it's working. I thought to myself. It's funny, that reminds me, when a person does a commitment and it starts to hurt to the point that it becomes uncomfortable. I thought that the tingle, that's the biggest proof that it's working.
Speaker 1:Many people, when they strive for Hatzlocha, they get to a certain level of success before they fall and break down and the wheels fall off the bandwagon because the pain was too great to bear. Ladies and gentlemen, that's where the change starts. You welcome the pain because the tingle, that menthol that's burning away bad meatos and reinstalling new, proper, good and healthy habits, character perfection. Well, take a quote from another friend if it ain't hurting, then it ain't working. And that's why anyone who's ever built some If it ain't hurting, then it ain't working.
Speaker 1:And that's why anyone who's ever built some spiritual or physical muscle knows that only when it starts to become uncomfortable and can't do one more set and I can't do it again at that moment when you find the intestinal fortitude to push through the tingle, to push through the pain and to push through the pain and to do one more set, to learn for another minute, to push yourself for one more day of purity, that's the tingle. It tells you that it's working. And that's how you know bad habits are being broken into bits and pieces and good habits are being installed into your life. If you want the change, welcome the pain, welcome the tingle, because the tingle tells you that it's working. Thank you.
