Yam left university in 2006 and joined the corporate working world. He worked hard and excelled in variety of roles including sales, learning & development, and commercial operations. He has seen some people achieve remarkable career progression, bemoaned by others struggling to connect the dots within their organisation and assuming unfair advantages. Sometimes they were right. He has also seen talented people, particularly in marginalised minority groups, play within their comfort zone, lost, lacking self- belief, lacking the knowhow to progress, or blaming an environment that doesn’t enable them. Sometimes they were right.

Yam has  been both people above in the past. Today , he is a moderately successful, black, middle-aged, mid-level executive. A guy that is only just starting to gain the career insights and opportunities that would have equipped his 25-year-old self for a more fulfilling, impactful, and lucrative future.
