Look, I'm not here to sugarcoat this for you.

AI is replacing service providers left and right in 2026, and if you're offering one of these five services, you could be next.

But before you panic and think this is some doom-and-gloom situation, let me be clear: I'm not here to fear-monger. I'm here to give you a wake-up call so you can pivot NOW instead of getting to the end of 2026 frustrated with your lack of clients, lack of growth, and wondering if you should have even started this business in the first place.

After working with over 3,000 service providers, I've seen this shift happening in real time. I've watched podcast managers get replaced. I've seen copywriters who used to charge $20,000 now struggling to land $2,000 clients. I've watched VAs lose their entire roster because clients figured out ChatGPT can do 80% of what they were paying them for.

The industry is changing, y'all. And we need to change with it.

Here's what we're covering today: the five services getting hit the hardest by AI, real examples of how this is playing out right now, and most importantly, the exact pivot you need to make to stay relevant and charge premium prices.

This might sting a little, but I promise I'm giving you a path forward—not just telling you the sky is falling.

The 5 Services AI Will Replace in 2026 (And How to Pivot Now)

===

Brandi: [00:00:00] Five services that AI will replace in 2026 and how to pivot now. Oh my gosh, doesn't this sound like such a doom and gloom episode? But I promise it's not. It's just a wake up call. It's saying Hey, if you are offering any of these five services. Maybe this year we need to look at our services and position them in a new way.

But one thing I'm never doing is fear mongering. I just wanna show up and show you what is happening in our industry right now so you can fix it now instead of getting to the end of 2026 and being frustrated with your lack of clients, lack of growth, and wondering if you should have even started this business in the first place.

If you're ready to pivot and not let AI replace you, this is the episode for you. So let's jump on in. Hello, my friends. Welcome. Welcome back to another episode of the Serve Scale Soar podcast. My name is Brandi and if this is your first time here. Hello. This podcast is all about helping you scale [00:01:00] your one-on-one service-based freelance business without working yourself to death.

I'm talking about family first, business second, real big money. Real big profit without the real big time commitment. We like to work 25 hours or less around here, and we don't do the hustle, and today we're having a conversation no one wants to have, but everyone needs to hear because I've been watching it happen in real time.

After working with over 3000 service providers. The industry is changing y'all. I've seen podcast managers getting replaced this year. I've watched copywriters used to charge 20,000, struggling to get $2,000 clients, and I've seen VAs lose their entire. Roster because clients figured out chat, GBT can do 80% of what they were paying them for.

And we talked about this in last week's episode and the week before that about how do we pivot our services? How do we step into this strategist role? [00:02:00] How do we not let our services burn out with ai but use AI as a tool for us to actually charge more?

If you're still sitting there and you're like it won't happen to me. It could, it could. If you are offering one of these five services that I'm gonna talk about today, it 100% could happen to you unless you're willing to make a pivot. And I'm gonna walk you through the pivots I would make if I was offering one of these five services today.

So in this episode, we're gonna cover the five services that are getting hit the hardest with ai. Real examples of how this is playing out right now, and most importantly, the exact pivot you need to make to stay relevant and charge premium prices. If you offer any of these services, and even if you don't, you'll probably find a takeaway from today's episode.

This one may sting a little. I promise I'm going to give you a money path forward, not just a doomsday gloom. This isn't gonna work for you type of thing so I first wanna start [00:03:00] with what's happening behind the scenes in million dollar businesses right now. I hang out with a lot of people who are running million dollar businesses, high six figure businesses, and so I get the behind the scenes look. Plus I work with 60 service providers one-on-one, where they are boxing me every day in Strategist Society.

And I work with over 800 ad managers inside of conversions for clients. So I'm in a lot of people's businesses on both sides, the service provider and the business owner. And what I'm seeing right now from the business owner perspective a lot of them are cutting down on team and replacing them with ai, but they're also still making hires, but they're making more strategic hires that we talked about.

Last week. It's not because they don't value people, it's not because they're being cheap. It's because the barrier to entry for execution has dropped to almost zero. If you are doing basic VA level task, you [00:04:00] can be replaced very easily with ai. My ad managers, you're still in a safe place. I think ad management, anything with AI automations, like if you're building agents high level strategy funnel building, I don't think you're gonna be replaced this year.

Now, I do think that you could be competing on price. More, but I don't think you're gonna be replaced. And so with, actually I know you're not gonna be replaced 'cause that's not where the conversations have been. When I'm talking to a lot of business owners. The things that used to take specialized knowledge and hours and time, Hey, I can do them in minutes, and clients are figuring that out.

We see this especially fast happening in copywriting and graphic design. The things that have been happening within Canva, even Photoshop. Lightroom, like things that photographers used to pay so much to do. The basic person can go in right now and click a few buttons and have their photos exactly like they want 'em.

You can create amazing graphics [00:05:00] inside of Gemini with the nano banana thingy. You can make beautiful graphics. There's also things like, there's also other AI graphic platforms like I think Playground, and it makes some incredible graphics. So if you're doing basic graphic design, which we're gonna talk about, and then we have things like Descrip, which made podcast editing, YouTube editing, so freaking easy. So these things that used to be specialized knowledge.

Now AI has figured out how to do it so quickly. So if your value proposition is I can do this task for you, you're in trouble because that's not valuable anymore. Anyone can do some of those tasks. What is valuable is knowing which task to do, knowing how to use those tasks to get results, and having a strategic brain to lead clients where they need to go.

That's the shift. So let's break down the services that are getting hit the hardest and the pivot you need to make if you're in one of these services. Okay, so let's start with Service one, podcast management. This one breaks my [00:06:00] heart because we used to pay someone to manage our podcast. We loved her. She launched the podcast.

She stayed with us for so many years, and she's still one of my favorite people today. But unfortunately, the script and chat, GPT, Janessa and I can take the podcast episode recording. To publish in 45 minutes now, like it happens so quick. So in that case, we didn't need that person anymore. We have the automations, the systems, the agents that help us do it so stinking quick.

That includes editing that we use to script, that includes show notes, that includes social media clips. Scran transcripts, blog post, SEO data. The only thing that's needed is for me to edit through the script, which takes super quick, and then for Janessa to upload it into our on our blog. But the AI agent takes care of most of that force. It spits out really good content based on my [00:07:00] voice, the podcast episode, and how we like the blog formatted. So the only task doing is me actually recording, which only I can do that can't be outsourced, then I go on and use the script to edit the episode, which takes half the time that the episode is. So if it's 20 minutes, it usually takes me 10 minutes to edit. We don't do a lot of heavy edit editing, which helps, and then I pass it off to Janessa and she takes the prompt and has the blog post and then uploads it to our software.

And then we have templates already in Canva where we're just. Swapping out the title. So something that used to took our podcast manager three hours. I had to make sure I had it to her ahead of time and everything we can do in 45 minutes, which shows like, oh my gosh, it's so much quicker now. I'm not on a tight schedule, and we can get a almost better result.

And I don't say that lightly. We love the person we were using so. When we're looking at that, what used to [00:08:00] require a dedicated team member, we can do it in house now because the tools made it so easy, and I've known at least 15 of my friends who have replaced their podcast manager with AI tools. This is the biggest area I've actually seen people get replaced except for copywriters, which we'll talk about.

So if you're a podcast manager, here's the pivot you need to make. And we actually have a podcast manager, producer inside of Strategist Society, and they know this is how do we charge high ticket prices, still scale our business and continue to do a service we love? You have to position yourself differently.

You're not just an editor, you're not just a manager. You're a podcast strategist, which means you're helping them get brand deals, sponsored episodes. You're strategizing the growth in the audience, building through the podcast, not just getting the podcast out, but how do we grow the podcast? You're analyzing the topics that convert to clients.

You're helping them monetize the [00:09:00] podcast, not just. Produce it. You are being more strategic with how the podcast lines up with their overall business goals, not just the edited podcast. Production is cheap. Strategy ex is expensive. Which one are you selling? Okay, so now let's talk about my virtual assistants.

Okay. VAs, you are being replaced left and right If you are doing basic email management, calendar scheduling, data injury, basic social media posting, you are being replaced. AI can sort emails. Calendars have so much AI built into 'em. Now chat, GPT can draft responses.

Canva has AI built into it to create social posts. You can literally create websites in minutes. Now with AI and whole PowerPoint productions, if you are a generalist when it comes to VAs, you can be replaced very, very quickly with ai. But here's what AI can't do. It can't run a business. [00:10:00] It can't make strategic decisions.

It can understand the nuances of your client's situation and their business. So if you are a general va, where do you need to pivot? You need to become something more strategic, whether that's a strategic operations manager. A business manager, a launch strategist, maybe you're a growth. A lot of VAs know a lot about marketing, so This is where you step into that marketing manager. You're a fractional CMO. You are a growth partner, but you cannot just be a virtual assistant and think that's going to last in 2026. So you have to pivot to something more productive, which means you're looking at the business holistically, identifying bottlenecks.

You're implementing systems, not just following them. You're making decisions, not taking orders. You're managing products and people not task O bms know how to run a business. [00:11:00] Y'all are geniuses. If you have been an OBM and that's even being replaced. The next step is A marketing partner, a growth partner, that is the next logical step, and you're gonna get paid away more because there is numbers like ROAS and everything directly tied to your position.

When people can see that you, they spend money on you and then you make the company back, you're gonna stay longer. It is, that is what it's coming down to in 2026. The more you can be someone who shows someone here. Here's how much you pay me, but here's how much I bring your business. The longer you will stay, you're not getting replaced.

But VAs who are just checking off boxes and list, you're in the danger zone. So how can you amplify your position? Now that doesn't mean go out and get a OBM certificate or anything like that. We just need to rework the packages that you already have. Okay? So service three is my copywriters. Y'all, I feel for you.

Like I feel hard for you 'cause I do [00:12:00] believe that this has been the most brutal to watch. I have friends who teach copywriting, they have certifications in copywriting. They've literally shut those businesses down because that industry has been hit. So hard, and it's because chat GBT, Claude Gemini got so good at writing copy, like really good, especially if you know how to prompt it is so good.

Now, most people don't know how to actually prompt GBT to get good stuff, so everything starts to look the same and sound the same and all that kind of stuff. And even when it puts out garbage, which it often does, clients don't know the difference. They're not conversion copywriters, so they think they're getting good even if it's.

Not, but they don't know the difference. They just know that they get words on a page and for $20 a month, instead of paying 20 K for a project.

We paid $5,000 for a voice guide several years ago. I think it was in 20 20, 20 21. Now I can create a better voice [00:13:00] guide and about 10 minutes with the great prompt, and it costs me $20 for the month. So the thing is. They've just been hit hard. That's plain, simple truth. Copywriters have definitely been hit the hardest.

So how do we come back from this? Because you have such an amazing skill, like convert. If you know how to write copy and you're good at words, you have such an amazing. Skill. And so that doesn't mean just give up. You can't just be a writer anymore though. You need to be a messaging strategist and conversion expert.

This means you're doing deep customer research that AI can get surface level, but it can't re replicate. You're understanding psychology and persuasion principles. You're testing and optimizing for conversions, not just writing pretty words. So this goes into the marketing. Consulting and growth consulting.

You're positioning the entire brand, not just cranking out content. The writing is the easy part. Now [00:14:00] the thanking is what you charge for. So we have to get good at positioning ourselves as conversion specialist, not just copywriters, because you know that messaging is everything. Like at the end of the day, a business's message is more important than the ads, because if you put out ads with crappy messaging, it's not gonna convert.

But clients don't know that you have to come in positioning yourself as now a conversion expert. Not just a copywriter. Okay. Service four, basic graphic design. If you're designing social media, graphics, basic logos, simple templates, social media, graphics, canvas, AI is coming for you. It's already here.

Actually. I've seen people pump out entire brand identities using AI tools in hours. And they're not always as good as like a brand specialist, but it's good enough for most clients. So do you wanna stay relevant? Do you wanna continue to get paid as a [00:15:00] graphic designer? Then we have to pivot. You need to become a brand strategist, a creative.

Director, you're developing the entire visual identity and brand strategy. You're creating custom original work that stands out in a sea of AI generated sameness. You, you understand brand psychology and consumer behavior. You're directing. The creative vision, not just executing design. And here's the thing, you have to stop talking to new businesses.

Those are not the people who are gonna hire you. Those are the people who are going to double down on ai, talk to the luxury businesses, talk to the established ones that don't want some AI generat. Stuff get good at doing AI branded photo shoots. If you can take someone's photo and do a whole branding shoot for them, that's something that can be really, really appealing.

Maybe you pivot from just graphic design to AI [00:16:00] videos. There's always the pivot, but we have to think bigger. Use AI as a tool to expand our brand when a lot of people can't do that type of stuff. But if we're just focused on basic graphics, you will. Be replaced. AI can make things look pretty. It can't make strategic decisions about how a brand should show up and convert into ideal clients, so you have to change your positioning.

In service fives, my social media managers, if you're just creating and scheduling social media posts, you will be replaced. AI can generate captions, it can create content calendars. It can analyze what times to post, but here's what it can't do. It can't build community. It can engage authentically, understand the nuance of brand voice, respond to crisis situations, make strategic pivots based on what's working.

So you need to become a social media strategist and community. Manager. This means you're building engagement and [00:17:00] community, not just posting content. One of my favorite two accounts, Aldi does a really good job of this and the grocery store and Tampa International Airport. If you don't follow TPA, they have the best social media managers on the planet.

Like they drive community, they drive engagement. They're funny, they're entertaining. It is so good. Like you wanna follow them just to. Even if you never want to go to Tampa, I saw a PO a comment and it was like, I wanna fly. Find a reason to fly to Tampa just because your social media is so good. That's what you wanna be able to do as a social media strategist, is create that community.

You're developing content strategies that align with business goals, not just posting to be posting. You also maybe are reaching out. For user generated content, so UGC creators and getting that, you are thinking more about big, big vision, not just posting, you're analyzing what content drives [00:18:00] actual sales, not just like some followings, you're managing brand reputation, customer relationships maybe, or even into MiniChat and you're getting that really dialed in.

But content creation is cheap. Just putting out content for putting out content isn't gonna cut it. Community building and strategic social selling. That's what's expensive. That's what's gonna get you paid going into 2026. So did you notice the pattern in all five of these? Every single pivot I gave you has the same element. You're moving from doing to leading. From execution to strategy, from task-based, to transformation based, because here's what I need you to understand.

If your output can be replicated by a prompt, your pricing power is racing to zero. But if your value is in the thinking, the strategy, the decisions, the human insights, you become irreplaceable. Let me give you a real [00:19:00] example. That happened in my life. I spent over $20,000 on health coaching and. Got okay results. $20,000 y'all. Then four months ago, I replaced my coach with ai, and guess what? I'm more consistent. I'm getting better results, and I have a plan that I'm actually sticking to because it's customized for what's going on each week in my life.

It's customized to the meals that fit my family too, so I don't have to recreate. It's customized based on my work schedule. It's all taken into a more holistic approach of what's going on in my life and all my data points, not just ones that a coach ask at our weekly meeting. I didn't need someone to motivate me.

I have internal motivation. What I needed was information. A plan and one that kind of pivoted each week based on what was going on in my family, my schedule work, [00:20:00] and you know what? AI could do that for me.

But you know what? AI can't replace in my life, my business coach,

because he doesn't give me just information. He asks me questions I didn't even know I needed to ask myself. He sees blind spots I can't see. He understands the emotional side of building a business and how I need my family to be. First. I'm in a group setting where other people are having situations happen in their business that I was like, oh.

I didn't even think about that. Or they're doing things in their business where I was like, oh, that would actually work with me. That's irreplaceable. Having someone who's asking questions, who can get deeper, who's been there, really there, not just AI there and being with a group of people who are experiencing similar things that I can learn from that are asking questions I didn't even realize that I should be asking.

That's irreplaceable. So the same thing happens with our business. What can be replaced [00:21:00] and how do you become irreplaceable? So here's the action steps that I would love for you to do this week. If you're in one of those five categories that we talked about, and even if you're not, this is still a really good exercise.

One, audit your current services. Be brutally audits. Can AI do 80% of what you charge for? If so, you need to pivot, add the strategy layer. Before you touch any deliverable, you should be doing an audit, making recommendations, presenting a roadmap. That is what you can charge a premium price for the actual strategy, not the doing.

And then we can let AI. Help us do what our clients are paying us for, and then that means we work less. We make more reposition your messaging. I talked about this last week. Stop saying I manage podcasts, or I write copy. Start saying, I help specific person achieve specific outcome through your method.

The execution can be AI assisted, but the strategy, that's [00:22:00] all you my friend.

Now, I know this episode has been a little bit heavy, but here's what I want you to hear. This is actually the best time to be in the service industry if you're willing to evolve and pivot, because while everyone else is panicking about AI and saying doom and gloom, oh my gosh, it's gonna take all of our jobs.

You can be stepping into the strategist era, charging more than you've ever been able to charge before. One of my strategist Society members, Ashley made this pivot. She went from running ads to positioning herself as a growth strategist who uses ads as a vehicle. She now has VIP days done with you intensives, and retain our clients, and she's booked out

another member, Mandy, went from hourly VA type of work in tech, even if she was charging a whole lot per hour to repositioning herself as a growth strategist, and now she's landing clients for over $12,000. Per month, and she's working a whole lot less. She actually [00:23:00] had to find some hobbies because now work doesn't feel all of her time.

The opportunity is massive, my friends, but only if you're willing to make a shift. Don't wait to make the shift until you lose your clients Two ai make the pivot now while you still have breathing room to do it strategically, because I promise you, the clients who can pay premium prices, they're not looking for more doers, for box checkers, for to-do lists, completers, they're looking for leaders.

They're looking for strategists, they're looking for growth partners. Become that person. Step into that identity now. All right, my friends, if you're sitting here thinking, okay, Brandy, I hear you. I need to make the pivot, but I don't know how, how to restructure my offers or reposition myself or add strategy layer, that is exactly what we do in Strategy Society.

We help you make the transition from doer. To strategists, we help you restructure your packages, rewrite your messaging, [00:24:00] and step into a premium positioning so you can charge a premium price while working less. If you're like, yes, Brandy, this is my year of the strategist era.

Head to the strategist society.com and apply for a strategist success audit with me. We'll look at exactly where you are now and map out the pivot you need to make. And listen, I'm not here to scare you. I'm here to prepare you. The service providers who make this shift, they're about to have their best freaking year ever.

The ones who don't, they may be in trouble, they may struggle. You get to choose which side of that you're on. Alright, my friends, go out. Do the dang thing. Serve your clients, scale your business, and soar into the success you deserve.
